He tends to be quite submissive—“bashful” really is the perfect word for him—but once he feels safe, his sweet personality shines through.He was surrendered because his previous owner could no longer care for him, and despite the change, Cheech has remained soft‑natured and kind. Champion is house-trained, crate-trained, and has excellent mealtime manners—he eats his meals without rushing and happily shares space around food and treats. He’s still working on settling quietly after being released from his crate, but he’s learning more each day. Champion would thrive in a home with another friendly dog companion, as he truly enjoys canine company. Because he can experience a bit of separation anxiety at first, a home where someone is around often would help him continue building confidence. This sweet boy was surrendered to a local animal control after his previous family became overwhelmed with too many animals. Even with all the change in his life, Bear has remained gentle, friendly, and full of heart.He has done wonderfully with the other dogs here at the facility and has shown an easygoing, social nature. Our veterinary team found no health concerns during his intake exam.
