Story
7-year-old Legend is a sweet, easygoing fawn boy with a playful spark and a heart full of love. He adapts quickly to new people and places, enjoys playtime, and then happily settles in for cozy cuddles—especially on the couch or by your feet. Legend is house-trained, leash-trained, and a respectful eater with no food aggression. He’s free-roam trustworthy and sleeps soundly in bed with his humans. He enjoys plush toys (especially Lamb Chop!), puzzle toys, snuffle mats, and a good chew like a Nylabone. He does well with cats. He would do well in a home as either an only dog or with canine companions, and would thrive with someone who enjoys a relaxed, affectionate companion. He hasn’t met children yet but has a gentle, adaptable nature. He may need occasional eye lubricant, and sometimes bunny hop if his back legs feel weak while they regain strength. If you’re looking for a loving, low-key best friend—Legend lives up to his name. ****** All of our pugs are fostered throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area. Story
4-year-old Gatsby is a playful, affectionate fawn boy who takes his role as a professional Velcro pug very seriously. He loves being close to his people, riding in the car, snuggling in bed, and supervising whatever you’re doing. Gatsby enjoys chewing on Benebones, playing with other dogs, and exploring every corner of the house with his curious nature. He’s crate-trained, walks well on a leash, and uses a magnetic screen door like a dog door to go outside. Gatsby wears a belly band to help prevent indoor marking. He gets along with other dogs and adores people of all ages including kids. Gatsby would do best in a loving home where someone is around often, as he can become a little anxious when left alone for too long. Looking for a loyal sidekick with a big heart and zero concept of personal space? Gatsby is your guy! ******* All our pugs are fostered throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area. Story
4-month-old Inka is a playful, curious black-and-white pug mix puppy with endless love and energy to share. She adores tug-of-war, collecting toys, and staying involved in whatever her people are doing. Inka is affectionate, active, and always ready for fun, but she’s equally happy curling up on her dog bed after a busy day. She is crate trained, learning house-training, and already lets you know when she needs to go outside. Inka is doing well on leash training and gets along great with other dogs. She would thrive in an active home ready to keep up with puppy adventures and continue her training. If she’s an only dog, she’d love a family committed to plenty of playtime and attention. Inka is ready to bounce, cuddle, and wiggle her way right into your heart! ******* All our pugs are fostered throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area. Story
4.5-year-old Odisius is a playful fawn boy with a curious mind, a sweet spirit, and a toy collection he takes very seriously. Whether it’s a plushie, ball, or bone, this energetic guy loves to play—and often falls asleep with a toy still in his mouth after a busy day of fun. Odisius walks nicely on leash, knows how to use a dog door, and gets along well with other dogs. He loves to snuggle close at bedtime and would be happiest in a home with a playmate—human or canine—to keep him entertained. He’s making great progress with house training and would benefit from a family willing to continue his routine and guidance. Smart, affectionate, and always ready for an adventure, Odisius is on a quest for his perfect forever home. Story
1½-year-old Palmer is a playful, fawn boy with puppy energy and a heart full of love. He adores hugs, kisses, and snuggles just as much as he loves chasing tennis balls, playing catch, romping with other dogs, and figuring out enrichment toys. Eager to please, he's learning commands like "sit" and thrives in a structured home. Palmer is 95% house-trained, crate-trained, and has good mealtime manners when fed separately with a slow feeder bowl. He's working on leash skills and gets excited on walks but is improving with guidance. Palmer would love an active home with another playful dog or as an only pup with plenty of attention. Older children would be best while he learns not to jump when excited. If you're looking for a fun-loving cuddle bug with endless affection, Palmer is your perfect match! ******* All our pugs are fostered throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area. This sweet Velcro pug adores cuddles, loves being held, and will happily rest his head on you whenever he gets the chance. He also enjoys playing with plush lambs, tiny squirrel toys, and Benebones. Pancake Pete is mostly house-trained, crate-trained, walks well on a leash, and has excellent mealtime manners—he's a slow, polite eater. While he enjoys other dogs, he'd truly shine as your one-and-only pup where he can soak up all the attention. He sleeps soundly in either a crate or the bed and takes eye drops like a champ. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment to visit with this animal or multiple animals, please email us at info@animalhope.org or call 817-984-1129 between 12 pm and 6 pm.Meet Dinny! The little long-legged guy who has completely stolen our hearts. He’s still looking for his perfect family, and while his adoption fee is $300, we’re absolutely open to being flexible — he’s currently our longest‑term resident, and we’d love nothing more than to see him finally go home.Dinny is about 2 years old and weighs around 15 pounds. He’s a staff favorite thanks to his goofy, lovable personality. Around here, he’s affectionately known as “Dennis the Menace” because he adores playing tag in the yard and keeping everyone on their toes. He’s full of energy, but it’s the joyful, happy‑to‑be-alive kind that makes you smile without even trying. While he has been a bit selective with other pets in the shelter, we truly believe he has the potential to live with other animals in a home environment. Shelters can be overstimulating, and with the right family and a calmer setting, Dinny could absolutely thrive. Please note that since we don’t observe them in home settings, we can’t guarantee whether they are housebroken.Upon intake, we:Spay/neuterMicrochipProvide all vaccinationsRun blood and fecal tests (and treat anything that comes back positive)Start flea/tick and heartworm preventionOffer a free wellness exam within 7–10 days of adoptionTo adopt, you must be at least 21 years old and live within an hour of our facility.Do you have any questions?
