Story
Seven-year-old Lucky Girl is a puggle mix whose simple pleasures include back scratches, warm beds, bones, squeaky toys, road trips, and going camping. She gets an A+ in housetraining, knows how to use a doggie door, and is polite with children as long as they are calm. Lucky Girl would do best in a tranquil forever home where she is the only dog or lives with larger dogs. If you’re feeling lucky, fill out an application for this lovely lady at dfwpugs.com.

Story
Tip your hat to seven-month-old pug/terrier mix Fedora and his adorable underbite! Fedora is curious, smart, energetic, playful with dogs and cats of all ages and sizes, and enjoys sharing his toys. He also loves leash walks. When he’s not zooming around his foster home and showing off his tug-of-war skills, Fedora has a softer, snugglier side. He enjoys cuddling with his foster parents on the couch and sleeping next to them at night. In true pug fashion, Fedora is food motivated but is able to sit politely and wait for his bowl to be served before scarfing down his food with enthusiasm. Because he is such a social boy, he would do best in a home with attentive humans and at least one other friendly and playful dog. If you’d like to make Fedora your forever companion, apply for him at dfwpugs.com!

Story
11-year-old bonded pair Jacksy and Jessika are sweet and gentle pugs with velcro tendencies. This laid-back brother and sister get along with adults, kids, and other dogs alike. They are housetrained, crate trained, polite, enjoy walks, and love to chill on the couch with their pack. Jacksy and Jessika’s only required “medication” is affection from their humans (and probably snacks if you happen to be offering them). If you’d like to give this senior power couple a loving permanent home, apply to adopt them at dfwpugs.com!

Story
11-year-old Babee is visually impaired, but that hasn’t stopped her from navigating her foster home, trying out the stairs, and navigating the doggie door. This is a determined girl on the go! When she’s not exploring the house and the yard, Babee likes to explore a comfy bed (preferably in the company of her foster dog siblings) and a warm lap, curled up next to her favorite stuffed toy. As long as she has consistent affection and companionship, she is happy! Babee’s ideal forever family will have ample time to spend with her, be willing to provide her with support in navigating her new home, and understand that she isn’t different from other pugs in many ways – after all she is sweet, social, and loves food! If you’d like to provide this beautiful senior girl with a loving home, apply for her at dfwpugs.com.

Story
Ready to meet some of our Power Couples, aka bonded pairs, available for adoption this holiday season? Let’s start with 8-year-old Trixie and Spank, an affectionate and spunkily-named duo. He’s a little bit country, she’s a little bit rock and roll. Trixie, the female half of the pair, is a total girl boss and confident queen, according to her foster mom. She has hip dysplasia and disc disease, but walks and trots enthusiastically, especially when there is a cat to chase. Her brother, Spank, is a mellow, gentle velcro pug who watches Trixie’s hijinks with much amusement. He loves to relax in the sun, cuddle, and try to finish Trixie’s food when she’s not looking. Trixie and Spank are indifferent to toys, and share a dislike of cats. They are friendly enough with their foster brother, but would rather see what the humans in the home are up to. They adore one another and will need to be adopted together. If you’re interested in giving this Power Couple a loving forever home, apply for Trixie and Spank at dfwpugs.com!

Story
Sammy is a 5 year old, 37 lb Pug mix. She is a bit larger than a Pug, but we can't figure out what she is mixed with! What we do know for sure is that Sammy is a sweetheart of a dog! She is a laid-back and thrives on relaxation and companionship. She is incredibly affectionate and enjoys being held or petted. She loves to hop up on the couch so she can snuggle up to you while you are watching TV. Sammy gets along with other dogs, but she can easily be an only dog, as long as she gets lots of attention. She would do best in a home with no cats. She sleeps through the night in her crate, and is working very hard to be 100% potty trained. Sammy enjoys leisurely walks where she is given the opportunity to explore and sniff interesting scents along the way. She will not do well in a home where her people are gone for long periods of time. She has had puppies in the recent past, and she is overweight, so a nutritious diet is a must. Sammy is past her playful stage and has no interest in toys or chasing a ball, but she will make a loving and loyal companion for the right adopter. If you would like to meet Sammy, please submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you..

We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##2013143##
