Story
River is 1.5 years old, weighs 17 lbs, and we are guessing she is a Pug/Dachshund mix. She came to Humane Tomorrow with a severly fractured front leg, but we don't know how she sustained the injury. The injury was too severe to repair, so our vet amputated her leg. River is feeling so much better and getting around just fine! She has the cutest wrinkled forehead and a head tilt that will bring a smile to your face! Foster mom says that River is very friendly and social and loves everyone! Of course, everyone who meets River is smitten with her! We think she would be good with kids over the age of 6. She loves playing and cuddling with the small dog in her foster home. She is housebroken as long as her people keep her on a consistent schedule. River tends to bark at unexpected noises, so she may not be a good candidate for apartment life. Please submit yourapplication, and an adoption counselor will contact you.

Story
Seven-year-old Peggy is outgoing, energetic, confident, and a total boss babe. Despite being blind, she has no problem with taking charge and making her opinions known! Peggy navigates her foster home with ease and enjoys spending time with people, other dogs, and cats. Her favorite activities include following her people around the house, playing and cuddling with other dogs, chasing balls, chewing on toys, and going for walks. When it’s time to recharge, she snoozes soundly in her crate and snores loudly. She is housetrained, can use a doggie door, and eats her meals politely. Peggy requires daily eye drops to keep her peepers feeling fresh. Her ideal forever family will provide her with plenty of companionship from people and other dogs, and create a safe environment with her visual impairment in mind. If you’re inspired by bold, fearless, loving, and loyal ladies, Peggy might be your perfect match! Apply for her at dfwpugs.com. * All of our pugs are fostered throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area. We adopt to all lower 48 states, but adopters must travel to Texas for pickup. Story
Three-year old Mayes is a silly, easy-going fawn pug who loves nothing more than being near his people. A true Velcro pug, he’ll follow you from room to room and is happiest curled up by your side. Mayes is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. At mealtime, he gets so excited he does a little “food dance” and would benefit from a slow feeder bowl. He enjoys bones, strolls in the park, and even showed off his adventurous side by leaping into the lake for a swim (life jacket on, of course!). Mayes does well with dogs, cats, and children, and would be happy as either an only pug or with furry friends. Looking for a loyal, easygoing companion? Mayes is your guy! ****** All our pugs are fostered throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area. We adopt to all lower 48 states, but adopters must travel to Texas for pickup. Story
One-year-old Bow Tie is a playful, energetic fawn pug with a soft, cuddly side. He loves running around, playing with toys, and spending time outside, but when it’s time to relax, he is happiest snuggled up next to his person. His silky coat and sweet nature make him an irresistible companion. Bow Tie is almost fully house-trained, crate-trained, and has good mealtime manners. He is learning to use a doggie door and does well on leash, though he may pull a little in his excitement. He enjoys the company of other dogs and has even had fun playing with older children at the park. At night, he’s flexible, he’ll happily sleep in a crate, dog bed, or right in your bed. Bow Tie would thrive in a home where he gets plenty of playtime, outdoor time, and attention. If you’re looking for a lively, affectionate best friend, Bow Tie is ready to steal your heart! ****** All our pugs are fostered throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area. Story
7-year-old Pokey is a tenderhearted, snuggly, and adorably expressive little pug who just wants to be wherever YOU are, and yes, that means following you into the bathroom. He loves lounging in a cozy dog bed with his favorite toy (which he adorably sucks on like a pacifier), curling up on the couch next to his people, or showing off his playful side with short bursts of zoomies. He may be 7, but Pokey's got plenty of pep in his step! Pokey is house-trained, but occasional oopsies happen, crate-trained, and eats politely with his foster siblings. He does great at sharing his toys, even his favorite ones! He’s also great with other dogs, but more than anything, he just wants your love and attention, so someone home most of the day would be his dream home. He would do well in a home with or without other dogs, and while he hasn’t been around kids regularly, he’s proven to be a sweetheart with all visitors. A fenced yard would be ideal so he can safely explore while he continues building his leash confidence. Pokey takes daily eye drops like a champ, and is so smart and learns routines quickly. Ready to bring home the ultimate lap pug? Head over to dfwpugs.com to apply for Pokey! * All of our pugs are fostered throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area. Story
Meet Killua, an 11-year-old fawn gentleman with the gentlest soul and the biggest heart. This Velcro pug will follow you everywhere, he takes his “personal assistant” duties seriously! Killua is calm, affectionate, and adores being close to his people. He is house-trained (with the help of a belly band), crate-trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. He eats politely and patiently waits for others to finish, true gentleman manners! Killua isn’t into toys but loves a soft bed, a cozy spot by your side, and the occasional piece of cheese (his favorite treat). He can hop onto a couch but prefers staying at ground level. Killua gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would also do great as an only pug, as long as he has plenty of love and attention.
