Story
Henley is a 7 year old female rottie mix. She is not human aggressive/has never bitten anyone. She does not like cats. She is somewhat fearful/uncertain of strangers, but she warms up quickly. She isn't food aggressive, and she does fine around kids. She isn't the most active, and mostly enjoys following her human room to room. She would be perfect as the only pet in a household. She is house trained, and no major medical issues. Henley has been in the home since she was a puppy. She loves being outdoors- or wherever her human(s) is. There's not a treat she doesn't like, but meaty ones are her favorite. In full transparency- we are seeking to rehome Henley due to behavioral issues- bites on another household pet (small dog). Unfortunately, we have had 2 recent instances of bites requiring stitches for one of our smaller dogs in the home, and no longer feel that it is possible to keep her in our household.

Story
Kiya is a beautiful and affectionate Rottie mix girl. She is very cuddly and affectionate.  She loves to curl up with you on the couch. For being young, she is very low energy. Her favorite thing is to lay around and just chew on one of her toys or bones. She gets along great with other dogs, but she doesn’t have much interest in playing with them, she would rather just hang out. She does like to play with her foster mom.  She would be fine living with other dogs or as an only dog.   She loves to chase squirrels and chipmunks and chasing tennis balls is her favorite thing to do. She also loves her squeaky toys. She’s easily entertained and very goofy. She is crate trained and house broken. She loves her crate. Her current foster crates her at night and also when she is not at home. She will bark at strangers that are outside the house, but she’s fine once they walk in the door. She loves men and women. She loves to go for walks and sniff everything. She walks well most of the time but pulls at times when she sees a squirrel or chipmunk.  She does well with 2Hounds harness and would do even better with more training.  She loves to sniff and finding all the new smells in the yard and in the neighborhood are one of her favorite things to do. She is obedient and listens most of the time but gets a little hard of hearing if you’re calling her and she’s sniffing out a chipmunk in the yard.   She does well in a fenced yard, but if there are gaps, she will squeeze through one. She always comes back, but she needs a secure fence so that she doesn’t get out. She has shown resource guarding with her food and the other dogs in her foster home. She has growled and barked at them when they came near her food. For this reason, her foster feeds her in her kennel. Kiya is fine with this. We don’t know how she would be with resource guarding with humans, because her foster has never tried it. Her foster is able to put her food bowl in her crate and close the door with her in it at meal time.  She is easily distracted when you has something she’s guarding.  You can throw her tennis ball and she’ll chase it and leave what she is guarding. She takes treats gently. Because she resource guards, we are not going to place her in a home with small children. She would do wonderfully in a home with adults and teens.  She loves people.  She is the perfect low-key dog. Age: 1.5 years  Weight: 55 lbs  Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, spayed and heartworm negative and up to date on vaccines Temperament: good with bigger kids and other dogs but must feed separately.  Training: House trained, crate trained.   For questions, please email aimiablepetcare@aol.com   To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.June 20, 2024, 9:29 am

Maverick! I could write a book about him. He has so much personality! From singing his favorite songs or talking back when asked questions! He’s 1. & full of life ! Great with kids , other dogs or just being a friend. It saddens me that I can no longer care for him like we once did ! With life hitting facing , my husband had to deploy, in a short notice. My daughter is 1 & we plan on moving back to our hometown & cannot take him. I tried hard to not miss a beat , but it’s not fair. He loves to play & I just can’t find the balance. I am asking for a great home ! With all of his shots , looooong list of tricks i just know his next owner will love him just as much as we do !

I got Remy from the shelter about 7 months ago. I wanted a friend for my current dog but I am unable to take care of both. She’s really sweet. She loves to cuddle and be pet. She loves anybody she meets. She plays well with other dogs but would rather be an only child.

Story
Meet Frankie! Frankie is a female Rottweiler around 1 yr. I walked outside one day to find this sweet girl huddled up in my yard just as scared as can be. I’m not sure if she was abandoned, but she had no microchip or any sort of ID. I posted her on social media, and even went through the county foster to adopt program without anyone claiming her. Having previously owned a Rottweiler, I decided to give her a home. After some time, I have realized it would be in her benefit to be in a better situation with someone that is capable of giving her all the love and attention she deserves. Frankie is as sweet as can be. There is not an aggressive hair on her. All she wants is to be loved on. She’s young and does have puppy energy, and needs an owner that has the time to spend with her, work with her, and be active with her. The ideal owner would be retired or work from home, has plenty of space for her, and has patience. She’s fully grown at 65lb and friendly with everything she meets!

Story
Sheba is a beautiful dog. She had some skin irritation but it's cleared up now. I cannot walk her because of her strength my son has left home and the place he is do not accept pets. I do not have a yard for her to run. Sheba was purchased from a breeder in Jonesboro and she was 7 weeks old at that time. She is currently 23 months and will be 24 months old on June 11. She loves to play with dog toys and she loves to run. She really do not like to be on a chain to use the potty so I know her re-homing person with a yard that is fenced in or have children will love her because she wants the attention and she loves to play. She loves belly rubs, and she likes to be talked to she turns her head sideways when you are speaking to her like she understands. I am positive that if you have other big dogs and a fenced in yard. Sheba will love her new environment.
