These two have had a wonderful start to life and are showing all the best qualities you could hope for in growing puppies.   Daily Routine & Home Life Grinch and Max sleep soundly through the night together in their crate and usually wake up around 7:00 AM, starting the day with enthusiastic tail wags, hugs, and kisses. First thing in the morning, they head out for their potty break and are doing great with their training.   They eat 3–4 meals per day, depending on their appetites: breakfast around 8:00 AM, lunch at 1:00 PM, an optional afternoon snack between 4:00–5:00 PM, and dinner at 7:00 PM. Throughout the day, they happily entertain each other by zooming around the house, playing, and wrestling like typical puppies, then settling down to rest together in their pen when they get tired. They’re already learning a healthy balance of playtime and downtime.   Max   Max is an incredibly smart, friendly, and playful puppy with a joyful and confident personality. He’s a quick learner — in just one day, he mastered the sit command and even waits patiently during mealtimes. For such a young pup, he understands cues impressively well and responds right away when guided.   Max is wonderful with other dogs and has been an amazing foster brother to Grinch. He naturally takes on a gentle, supportive “big brother” role — protective, kind, and always ready to play. He strikes a perfect balance between fun, intelligence, and affection, and will make a fantastic companion for a family looking for a bright, engaged, and loving pup.   Grinch   Grinch is an absolutely charming little guy who loves meeting new people and happily follows his brother wherever he goes. He has a curious, playful personality and enjoys exploring every nook and cranny of the house. He’s known for “treasure hunting,” so don’t be surprised if a sock or two goes missing!   After playtime, Grinch transforms into a sweet, snuggly lap dog who loves being picked up and cuddled. While he can get easily distracted, he responds well to gentle training and is eager to learn. His loving nature and playful spirit make him a wonderful puppy who is sure to bring lots of joy, laughter, and affection to his future home.   Grinch and Max are affectionate, well-socialized puppies who are off to a fantastic start. They’re ready to continue learning, growing, and sharing their big personalities with families who will cherish them for a lifetime.December 12, 2025, 3:44 am

To be considered for adoption, pls submit an application in advance.   Adoption fee: $700 Meet the Grinch Puppies — Betty Lou, Cindy Lou, and Martha May!   These three 10–12 week old Terrier mix sisters were rescued from the shelter and have spent the last few weeks learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and part of a family. Their foster home describes them as sweet, lively, sun-soaking little characters who have made huge strides in confidence and routine.   Daily Rhythm & Routine   The girls wake up around 7:00am and head right outside for their first potty break of the day. Breakfast is at 8:30am, followed by morning playtime, sunbathing, and yard exploration. They enjoy snacks at 10:30am, lunch at 12:30pm, another snack at 3:00pm, and dinner at 5:00pm. After a full day of fun and learning, they start winding down around 9:00pm.   Playtime, Adventures & Their Favorite Things   These puppies love being outdoors and spending time romping around with each other. They are very playful and can easily make a game out of sticks, leaves, or each other’s tails. They’re also huge fans of toys — especially squeaky toys and chew toys that keep their curious little brains busy.   Betty Lou and Cindy Lou are the sun worshippers of the group. They will find a warm patch of sunlight and happily lounge while watching their siblings play. Martha May is the champion sniffer and prefers to wander around the yard, taking in all the smells and exploring new corners.   And yes — they even enjoy Dog TV! Cindy Lou in particular will sit and watch squirrels or dogs on the screen with great focus… until her sisters inevitably distract her and pull her back into puppy playtime.   Growing Confidence & Personalities   These girls came in a bit unsure of people, but they have come so far in foster care. With gentle handling, routine, and kindness, each of them has bloomed in her own way:   Betty Lou is the resident lovebug. She adores sitting in your lap or napping right on top of her human. She’s the queen of snuggles and enjoys being in the center of affection.   Cindy Lou is sweet and loyal, preferring to sit right beside you, touching you just enough so she knows you’re there. She’s observant, calm, and absolutely charming.   Martha May is the little wallflower. She naps comfortably with her sisters and watches them interact, taking her cues from them. With patience and gentle encouragement, she’ll continue building confidence at her own pace. She'd love a doggy brother or sister to show her the ropes in her forever home.   Each of these pups is developing beautifully and showing more of their loving, playful personalities every day.   If you’re ready to open your home to a pup who will reward you with loyalty, laughter, and lots of sunshine-soaked cuteness, Betty Lou, Cindy Lou, or Martha Mae might be your perfect match.December 12, 2025, 3:44 am

To be considered for adoption, pls submit an application in advance.   Adoption fee: $700 Meet Trixie   Trixie is a 7 year old Yorkie with a soft, nonshedding coat who came to DPS after her beloved owner passed away. She was clearly cherished and well cared for, and we promised to honor that love by finding her a truly wonderful new home. Trixie is a gentle, easygoing girl who brings a quiet, comforting presence to the home.   Daily Routine Trixie starts her day around 7:30 a.m. She enjoys breakfast at about 8:00 a.m. and looks forward to her morning walk around 9:00 a.m., which is one of her favorite parts of the day. She has access to the backyard and happily goes out whenever she wants. Trixie is very comfortable in her crate, spends much of her downtime relaxing there, and sleeps peacefully in it through the night.   Personality From the moment she arrived in her foster home, Trixie was calm and composed. She wasn’t shy, just quietly observant and content. Her personality has remained steady— she is a peaceful, well-mannered dog who enjoys being around people but doesn’t demand constant attention. Trixie appreciates her personal space and is perfectly happy relaxing on her own. She is not a velcro dog and does not follow her people from room to room, making her an excellent match for someone who values a low-key companion.   Social Skills Trixie currently lives with another dog and coexists very well. While she doesn’t engage in much play, she enjoys going on walks together and happily strolls side by side, stopping to sniff all the same interesting spots. She has not yet been observed around children, but she has a friendly, tolerant nature and would likely do well in a family setting.   Energy Level & Playfulness Trixie is more of a calm lounger than a playful dog. She doesn’t show much interest in toys, but the moment she hears the sound of her leash, she pops out of her crate, ready and excited to go. Walk time is when her personality really shines.   Leash & Walks She absolutely loves her walks and is excellent on a leash. She walks politely without pulling and enjoys taking in her surroundings. On occasion, she may show a bit of interest in a squirrel, but it’s all part of her charm.   Housetraining & Home Habits Trixie is fully house trained and has never had an accident in her foster home. She is also crate trained and feels safe and comfortable in her crate. She does not chew, dig, or bark, even when visitors come over or when she is left home alone. Her quiet, calm demeanor makes her an exceptionally easy dog to live with.   Ideal Home Trixie would be a wonderful fit for many types of homes, including a family with children. She would do especially well with adopters looking for a mellow, independent dog who enjoys companionship without being demanding.   What Makes Trixie Special Trixie’s calm nature truly sets her apart. She is very quiet, rarely barks, and does beautifully when left alone. She’s the kind of dog who slips seamlessly into your life and brings a sense of peace with her.   Foster’s Favorite Thing Trixie’s joy for walks is infectious. She does the cutest little spins when she’s happily walking, and when asked to “sit,” she often twirls around and pops up on her back paws instead. It’s an unexpectedly funny and endearing quirk that makes everyone smile.December 12, 2025, 3:44 am

To be considered for adoption, pls submit an application in advance.   Adoption fee: $700 Meet Chanel!   Chanel, a 2 year old, 8 lb Chorkie, was found running as a stray with her sisters Dior and Prada, and of the trio, she is the most timid and sensitive. She arrived at her foster home unsure of the world, nervous about new sounds, and very cautious with new people. But once she realized she was safe, her sweet, quirky personality started to shine through.   Daily Routine & House Manners   Chanel starts her day early— around 6am— with a quick trip outside. She is house-trained; originally she used potty pads but now goes outside reliably with an open door. After her morning potty break, she’s at her happiest tossing around her little plushie toys. She LOVES them and proudly plays fetch with her tiny stuffed favorites.   Breakfast comes next, followed by her morning poo, and then she settles in for the day. While her foster is at work, Chanel hangs out in the bedroom and is a complete angel— quiet, content, and snoozing on the bed until her person comes home.   Evenings are a mix of gentle playtime and lounging on the back of the sofa. She adores belly rubs, pets, and all the cozy attention she can get. At night she sleeps snuggled up in bed with her foster.   Personality – From Timid to Tenderhearted   When she first arrived, Chanel was very unsure of everything— new noises, sudden movements, and unfamiliar people. She’s still timid out in the world, preferring to be carried in a sling or to relax in her stroller, where she feels safest. She’ll meet new people politely, but it’s more of a quiet, cautious “hello.”   At home, though, Chanel blossoms. She’s affectionate, gentle, and definitely a bit of a Velcro dog. She loves being near her person but isn’t needy— if you get up to do laundry or step away for a minute, she’ll stay cozily in her spot until you return. She gets adorable bursts of energy when she plays fetch, and the rest of the time she’s a champion lounger.   She’s also a classic tiny Chihuahua mix— she shivers when she’s nervous (her foster nicknamed her “Shakin’ Bacon”) and occasionally does the little reverse sneezes these breeds are known for.   Other Dogs, People & Outings   Chanel has been fostered both with and without other dogs and does well in either situation. She mostly ignores other dogs and prefers human attention. She has also been fostered with a cat and just ignores her.   She loves tagging along on outings— stores, parks, restaurants, nail salons— you name it. She’s quiet, calm, and very portable, though she stays cautious in new environments.   Energy & Walking Style   Chanel is mostly a couch-and-comfort kind of girl. She’ll play fetch with enthusiasm, but otherwise she’s a lounger. Walks are still a work in progress. She doesn’t pull or bark or chase anything— she simply zigzags between your legs and often asks to be picked up. She isn’t going to be a hiking buddy, but she would make an excellent “purse dog” who loves being carried close.   Ideal Home   Chanel is flexible and could fit into many types of homes—as long as they’re gentle and patient. She thrives with one person but would likely do fine in a family as well. She’s easy to leave alone during the workday but is also delighted to have companionship. She’s not a high-activity dog and would prefer a home that appreciates her low-key nature, her love of being carried, and her tender heart.   Why Adopt Chanel?   Chanel is the kind of tiny dog that makes people stop in their tracks. She has a soft, lovable presence; she’s gentle, cuddly, easy to take places, and quietly working on building confidence in this big world. Every day she becomes a little more trusting, a little braver, and a little sweeter.   Foster Favorite   Her foster’s favorite thing? Chanel’s morning routine—right after rolling out of bed, she proudly brings over her plushies, ready for her first game of fetch of the day. It’s impossible not to melt.December 12, 2025, 3:44 am

She starts her mornings around 7:30am with a quick potty break, followed by a happy, full breakfast (she loves her Nutrisource kibble!). After breakfast, she enjoys a leisurely neighborhood walk to stretch her legs and take in the scents of the morning.   During the day, Raggedy Ann is the picture of calm. She lounges near her person— sometimes in her crate, sometimes just outside of it— content to snooze while you work. She goes out for regular potty breaks every 2-3 hours, gets a few treats throughout the day, and then has her second meal between 5:00 and 5:30pm. By 10:30pm, she’s tucked into her crate for the night, where she sleeps soundly without a peep.   Although she arrived a bit shy, Raggedy Ann has blossomed into a sweet, affectionate girl who chooses her person and sticks close by. She loves gentle attention and will quietly follow you from room to room just to be near you. If she can’t see you, she’ll go find you— never in a needy way, just with a soft devotion that’s incredibly endearing.   Socially, she coexists peacefully with the resident 18-lb terrier in her foster home, though they don’t really interact.   Raggedy Ann is a true lounger— more couch potato than playmate. She’s not into toys, fetching, or high-energy games, and she’s not especially food-motivated. What she is very motivated by is calm companionship and gentle affection. She walks nicely on leash, enjoys sniffing the world, and doesn’t pay much mind to other dogs passing by. She is fully housebroken, gives a little whine when she needs to go outside, and has shown no destructive tendencies—no chewing, digging, or excessive barking.   Sweet, easy, gentle, and low-maintenance, Raggedy Ann is simply a lovely little dog who will bring warmth and quiet affection to the home lucky enough to adopt her.December 12, 2025, 3:44 am
