Story
Meet Chapa, a super lovable and loving 2.5 year old Dutch Shepherd mix seeking her forever home! This friendly girl adores humans and is fully potty and crate trained. She is an INCREDIBLE dog, and is a perfect size - about 35 pounds.Chapa would be okay either as an only dog, or with a "balanced" to submissive dog playmate in her home. We haven't tested her yet with cats, but can do so upon request! Chapa loves long walks, playing fetch, zooming in your yard, and napping while you work - she is a super smart, fun, loving dog who has been overlooked at the shelter way too long. Her foster family are SHOCKED that noone has scooped her up yet - they can't wait for you to meet her!We ask that all members of the household come for a meet and greet to ensure there are no personality clashes. Story
Meet Boof, an adolescent cattle dog mix who loves people. She thrives on human companionship and daily walks/play time. Due to her breed, she can be a bit stubborn, so she needs an experienced owner to guide her. Boof is comfortable roaming freely in her foster home, even when her caregivers are away. She can be a bit wary of other dogs at first but with the right intros she does amazing. Boof has shown to be quite unsure of younger more active children. She's best suited for households with no or older children who move at a steady pace. Give Boof a chance to be your loyal and affectionate companion! This dog is currently in a foster home. Story
Dumbo's got nothing on me! My name is Budgie, and I have ears for days. People keep saying I'll grow into them, but my foster family says they're growing with me, so I'm not so sure! I'm a survivor -- I had distemper and have a bit of a twitch as a result. Distemper is hard to beat, so I'm a bit of a miracle pup. I didn't let that experience get me down, though -- I love hard, play hard, and have personality for days.I'm just about potty trained, and I sleep through the night! I am learning to walk on a leash. I play so hard during the day with humans and other pups that I literally play myself to sleep. I've been to adoption events, and while I'm overwhelmed at first, I love to meet new friends, dogs, and humans alike! I've never met a cat, but with a careful introduction, I'd want to be their friend! I do fine with kids that I meet! While I play hard, I love to snuggle with my humans when I'm tired. Don't let my tough guy look fool you; I'm a lover boy at heart. I sure hope you're my forever home -- I'm a scrappy survivor with a unique look who deserves a happy ending! Story
I'm a little shy at first, but with a little time you'll see that I'm a sweet and friendly girl. I love making new friends and I thrive when I'm surrounded by people who appreciate my unique personality. I'm more confident when there are other dogs around to help me feel secure.I'm happiest when we can play and explore together. If you're thinking about bringing me into your life, consider enrolling us in a group obedience class. It will help build my skills and give us a chance to bond even more. I'd also do best with calm and patient owners who can guide me with love and understanding. With the right environment and the right people by my side, I can be a loyal and cherished member of your family, bringing joy and warmth to your lives.

Story
The Brush gang arrived at the Rescue from Brush, CO.  Animal Control had them for some time and could not find their furever families, so they asked for help.  They are a sweet, friendly group of Austrailian Cattledog, Lab and pittbull.   They are a very energetic and happy group that can jump high, so a high fence with a large yard or property will be needed for these pups.   Brush pink flowers is one year old and looks mostly Cattledog with her spots, she is spayed, microchipped and current on shots.  She is kennel trained but has not spent time in the house, she has her own kennel at night but shares her yard with her brother. Please fill out an application at www.fureverdogdenver.com   If you have any questions or to meet me, please call (720) 588-6809. ##1788564##

Our little Starla is a doll! She loves everyone and everything! Children, toddlers, bearded dragons, other dogs, all people...Bring it on she will make you fall head over heels for her in no time! The only thing she dislikes is her crate, but that can be worked around since she is fine in her pen. She walks on a leash well and definitely wants to play with other dogs. She enjoys zoomies and food and snuggling. She is fostered with children and another dog and enjoys them so much. She is sleeping through the night (she keeps trying to sleep with the toddler, as he is her favorite) and is playing with all of the toys! She will brighten your day and is always ready to make you feel your best!

Story
Ani is a dog lover’s dream! She’s just under a year old, weighs just under 40 lbs, and is flying just under the radar and we aren’t sure why! Ani is believed to be an Australian Cattle Dog mix. She is SOOOOOOPER solid with her house training, she’s crate trained, and even dog door trained. Let me clear on the sooooooper part, she’s house trained even when the doggie door is closed. IDK about your dogs, but mine can’t do that. While she’s a beautiful girl, she leans more towards nerdy and tomboy type interests. Shopping isn’t for her. She does get super excited for car rides, but she hopes they end in doggie training classes. She’s a teacher’s pet for sure. She’s extremely food motivated and is fluent in 4 languages. She’s picking up Mandarin next. You know the type, book smart, street dumb? That’s kind of her. When she’s not busy solving the Pythagorean theorem, you can find her buried in blankets in her crate (much like one would expect from a giant chihuahua), playing with toys, or stealing your socks to add to her collection. Ani is great with a variety of dogs. While she’s agile and athletic, she’s fine with canine types that aren’t. She does prefer more mature humans, though. No small toddler types for her. She also is a great walker and would make a wonderful trail companion. Ani is in foster in Longmont, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/ani/. Story
Mateo is a cute heeler pup that has so much to offer. He is very loving and bonds quickly to his humans. In fact, his whole face lights up with happiness when he feels safe. He is very submissive to other dogs and wants to play with them but reads the room really well. Mateo has a good bit of energy and would love a home with people who like to hike and be active. He would not do well left alone or being in a kennel during the day for hours of time. He loves to play and would benefit from another playful dog in the home. Mateo is a very smart, curious boy that’s eager to please. He is good around cats and kids(8+), Mateo is in foster in Louisville, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/mateo You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
We’d like to introduce you to our very own Lt. Dan! This stunning, tri-color, tri-pawed, boy is approx 6-7 months old. He came to MHCR as kind of a unique situation. His family reached out for help with the cost of an amputation surgery due to a bad break in his leg. In an effort to keep him in his home, we agreed. Unfortunately, they changed their minds and decided they no longer wanted him. We couldn’t leave him hanging, so pulled him from the shelter and got him his surgery then brought him to foster in Colorado. Lt. Dan is crate and house trained. He zips around faster than any dog with 4 legs that I’ve ever seen (which is impressive given he only has 3). He’s cat friendly and dog friendly! The Heeler in him calls for a home with older kiddos as he can be kinda mouthy when playing or when excited. Lt. Dan’s humans should have a fenced in yard and a passion for smart dogs. Lt. Dan loves to learn and he’s food motivated, which makes training a breeze! Lt. Dan is in foster in Longmont, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/lt-dan/. Story
Clyde here (Aussie/Cattle mix). He’s 5 months old and is looking to make a life change. As you can see Clyde is clearly overcompensated with dashing good looks, but wait there’s more- 🦋Social Butterfly, Athlete, and Foodie Clyde loves people, and people love Clyde! He's a social butterfly who thrives on attention and affection. When he's not busy charming his fans, he's burning off energy with his favorite athletic activities - like zooming around the house or playing with his favorite toy & hanging with his 3 pup siblings. And, of course, no day is complete without a snack (or three, or four...). 🏆Potty Prodigy and Leash Legend Clyde is a quick learner, and his potty training is on point! He'll whine to let you know he needs to go out, and he's getting better at walking on a leash every day. Sure, he gets a little excited and pulls ahead sometimes, but he's learning to stop when you stop - after all, monkey see, monkey do! 🐾Sit, Stay, and Snuggle Clyde is a smart cookie, and he's already mastered the art of sitting on command. He's working on staying put (it's a work in progress, but he's getting there!). And when he's not busy being a good boy, he loves to snuggle up and give kisses - but don't expect too many cuddles, he's a busy pup with places to go and things to do! 🐾Playtime Preferences Clyde loves to play, especially with his favorite 50lb playmate! He's a bit of a chewer, but he's very good about not chewing on people (only toys and treats, please!). And while he doesn't bark much, he's got a vocal range that'll make you laugh - just be prepared for some dramatic puppy monologues when he's feeling impatient! 🐾The Verdict Clyde is a one-of-a-kind pup who's looking for a family to match his energy and enthusiasm. If you're ready for a furry friend who'll keep you on your toes and make you laugh every day, Clyde is your guy! Just be prepared for some serious puppy love - and don't worry if he fusses when you leave, he'll get over it in two minutes flat! Clyde is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $425 🐾 Please submit an adoption application if interested in meeting this sugar monster. https://dooverdogs.com/multi-step-adoption-form-1/

Story
If you are  looking for a really athletic dog that can keep up with you, then look no further! Clark loves to run and spend time outdoors. He has the biggest smile, and eyes that stare deeply into yours. He would make a great running or hiking companion. He also enjoys going on walks as there is always something new to sniff or explore. True to a cattle dog’s nature (of which he is nearly 40%) while he is reserved at first, once he gets to know you he is a total snuggle bug. He loves belly rubs in the morning, and full body couch time in the evenings. He is building confidence on our gymkhana equipment (see his new video). He loves to race at top speed around the yard, weaving and dodging obstacles like a slalom racer. Clark is also smart, and loyal (that boxer in him). His mom was shepherd which also contributes to his smarts, and athleticism. All combined, the results are that he is 100% a good boy. He is good with other dogs and thrives on a good game of “keep away”, or “chase me”, or “wrestle mania”      ##1782958##

Story
Hi my name is Hazel and I am pretty shy, but with the help of my foster mom I am coming out of my shell. I like to go for walks, but in a calm and quiet area. I like cats... but like to chase them. So I should probably be in a house without them. I like other dogs, and being around a confident dog would probably help me gain my own self-confidence. Small kids would probably be too much for me, but older kids that can respect my need for a calm environment, would be just fine with me. Please someone just give me a chance.
