Story
Fern is a very sweet, gentle, and slightly shy girl at first. She may take a little time to warm up in a new environment, but once she gets to know you and feels comfortable, her true personality comes out and she becomes very affectionate and loves to cuddle with her people. She enjoys being close and will happily settle in for quiet time once she trusts you. Fern is very treat-motivated, which helps her build confidence and makes training and positive reinforcement easy and fun for her. She has been around a husky in her foster home and does well with her, showing friendly and curious behavior. She enjoys having another dog around and would likely do well in a home with a calm, friendly canine companion. Fern has also been good with children and has been gentle and sweet around them. She would do well in a family setting with patient, respectful kids who understand that she may need a little time to warm up. As she gets comfortable, Fern can be playful and has a cute habit of gently nipping at heels when she is excited or trying to engage in play. This is something that can continue to be worked on with positive training and redirection. Overall, Fern is a sweet little girl who will thrive in a loving home that gives her patience, encouragement, and plenty of affection. ##2636204##

Story
Lottie is an absolute joy of a puppy—fun, sweet, and full of personality. She’s feisty in the cutest way, incredibly smart, and has that fearless, energetic spark that makes her feel like the embodiment of a happy little kid. She gets along beautifully with all of our animals, and our dog Blanca is absolutely obsessed with her. The two of them could run and play outside for hours. She loves sunbathing, splashing through mud puddles, and then curling up for cuddles and giving tons of kisses. Lottie has a true zest for life and a heart full of love. She’s working on her potty training and improving more every day. She would thrive in many types of homes, but she’d be especially wonderful with a family that has kids or other pets—she really enjoys being part of a pack. It has been such an honor to foster her, and we can’t wait for her to find the forever family she’s meant for. She’s so easy to love. ##2567510##

Story
Joy is her namesake, bringing joy everywhere she goes. She is an absolutely snuggle bug who loves to be showered with love and affection and will give it back in return. She’s excellent with other dogs of all sizes. She’s 99.9% potty trained with only a few accidents here and there (she’s still a puppy. She’s great with stairs and walking in leashes. She would be great for any family who is more on the active side and wants to show her the world of love she deserves ##2631430##

Story
Lady, cattledog mix, 5 yo, 60 lb, spayed femaleLady is thin long-legged cattledog mix with the cutest face and floppy ears. She is curious and fascinated by all kinds of things. Lady spent months and months in limbo in boarding and was happy to join our gang and have a choice of playmates.  She is young and active, and needs a fenced yard.  Lady finds it most comforting to lie down close to you especially if she can somehow lean into you. It is hard to understand how this gentle angel, still almost a puppy, could be abandoned. We so hope to find stable loving home for her. Adoption fee $325. Story
Meet Waldo — our one-of-a-kind survivor  Waldo is a handsome 1-year-old Pitt-Heeler mix with a heart of gold and a story of strength. This gentle soul has been through more than most — he’s a distemper survivor, which left him with some neurological quirks and a little extra wobble (dance prance) in his step. But what really sets him apart isn’t what he’s been through… it’s how much love he still has to give.  Once a likely feral dog, Waldo’s world has been scary and unpredictable — but he’s learning what it means to feel safe, one day and one treat at a time. He’s still shy with strangers, but with his foster, he’s a total goofball: jogging everywhere he goes, prancing through the house, and proudly hogging every blanket and fuzzy pillow he can find.  Waldo is looking for a very special person — maybe that’s you? He needs a calm, patient, and loving home where safety and routine come first. Someone who:  Feels rewarded by earning trust, not instant affection  Can provide a secure yard and careful handling (he will bolt if scared — he earned his name that way!)  Understands that treats = love in Waldo’s world  Enjoys cozy nights in and slow progress that leads to a lifetime bond Waldo enjoys other dogs and could thrive with a confident canine buddy. Cats? Waldo LOVES cats, even if they don't always understand him. He may never be the dog who greets every stranger or walks perfectly at heel, but he’ll be your dog — loyal, silly, tender, and true. The kind of love that feels hard-won and absolutely worth it.  Waldo is looking for his Forever, or a new or even a part-time foster so we can get him used to, and more confident with, more people. If you can offer patience, safety, and a whole lot of heart, Waldo is waiting for you. Learn more or apply to meet him at EAPL.com.  His adoption fee is $375 January 5, 2026, 10:04 am
