Story
Daisy is an extremely affectionate and loving companion but she doesn’t like to be with other dogs in close quarters. I sent her to a 3 week board and train program to work on her aggression. She’s now an exceptionally well trained and smart dog. She will be great in a home without other pets! I wish I could keep her but she’s picking fights with her older brother. I adopted her from KC Pet Project 5 weeks ago. She was a stray. She knows heel(loose leash walking), sit, down, place, and come. She’ll enjoys following knows she’s supposed to hold down, sit, and place until given the break command.

Story
Our wonderful friend, Hypatia, is still looking for her home. We thought we’d mention some of the characteristics that would make her a great addition to someone’s family. *Hypatia is a bit of a couch potato. She is no stranger to the zoomies but she likes to spend most of her time relaxing on cozy furniture, either independently or (preferably) with a favorite human. *Hypatia moonlights as a blanket. She adores cuddling and being close to the people she loves. This will come in handy as the temperatures drop. *Hypatia is housetrained. She does her business as soon as she gets outside. You won’t need to set up any bells or whistles to get this girl to go potty outside. *Hypatia is independent. She loves her people but is also happy to spend long periods by herself napping or chewing on a favorite toy. She doesn't need a super active family to maintain her energy level. Hypatia would be fine with a busy owner or family that can’t always be home with her. *Hypatia is entertaining and a lot of fun. See the picture of Hypatia and her blue pool for just one example. She's a goofball, so sit back and watch. *Hypatia loves her people. This dog has more friends than most people we've met. Everyone who knows Hypatia loves her. Hypatia has never had a person or family of her own to spoil her. We cannot imagine how much love she will give to the person or family who brings her into their home and gives her the love and stability she has always deserved. Please consider welcoming Hypatia into your life through foster or adoption. If you can't do this, please share her far and wide. Hypatia tends to get overlooked because she is a pit mix, has white on her face so she looks older than she is, and because she needs to be an only dog. We need to expand the circle of people who know about her to help her find her family. Hypatia is a 3.5-year-old cattle dog/pit mix available through The Pet Connection in Raytown, MO. Hypatia’s adoption fee will be covered by one of her many friends and she will come with a life starter kit from The Rosie Fund. Transportation can be provided to the right home. Hypatia will need to be an only pet but, after meeting Hypatia, you’ll know that she is the only pet you need. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more info. #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #FosterDog #CattleDogMix #PitMix #RaytownMO #DogLovers #ForeverHomeNeeded #ShareForHypatia #ThePetConnection

Story
Let Cami be the queen of your castle! She is such a sweet, shy girl who wants desperately to be loved and we have no doubt that she will steal your heart. She enjoys peaceful activities with her people. (Check out her fishing adventure in Minnesota last winter!) It's going to take Cami a bit to trust and she'd appreciate a home where there aren't a bunch of visitors coming and going. While she can be picky about her canine friends, a super social dog might just do the trick. Of course, Cami would be perfectly satisfied being your one and only, too. Either way, she promises to love you to the moon and back! Cami's around eight years old and is a very polite house guest. She's quiet, doesn't get into things she shouldn't, and already knows to do her business outside. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more info on Cami. She's staying with us in Beloit, Kansas, but transport is available to the right home. #thepetconnection #adoptdontshop #socute #happy

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Renee (renees@tarasdream.org) for more information about this pet. Please visit our web site at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process.  Stevie, Slinky and Stuart were born in a shed and raised with little human contact or enrichment. They are now in loving foster homes learning how to be a carefree puppy, cuddled, walked, fed regularly and often to put on some weight. We do know the mom is a heeler and dad is a border collie so experience with herding breeds is a plus if you are considering these pups for your family. They are smart, like to be kept busy or have a job, so training will be critical to their ongoing growth and happiness. Stevie is blooming every day being fostered with other canines and cats. She is a great explorer of her environment (inside and outside) and learning to trust and seek human attention. Stevie is not opposed to forced snuggling on the couch and loves head, ear and belly scratches. She sleeps through the night in a kennel near the humans – it’s tough going from a pile of siblings to sleeping by herself and she’ll happily tell you all about it. Car rides are new and a little scary right now. She will get the hang of it with more opportunities. Stevie will need patient, loving and fun humans to continue to teach her all the good things about puppy manners and living in a family. Approximate Birthdate:   November 2024 Adoption Fee: $200 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL. Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.     For more information please fill out an application.     CONTACT INFO The Animal Rescue Alliance (TARA) Web site: tarasdream.org Adoption Information & Applications: https://tarasdream.org/adopt Upcoming Adoption Events: https://tarasdream.org/events Email: email@tarasdream.org February 5, 2025, 3:34 pm

She is unsure what to do about the older, smaller dog in the home – is he a puppy or no? Slinky seems to miss the interactions of her siblings most as that is all she has known. She would do well with an active and playful canine in the home to guide her to more acceptable play other than just wanting to play rough with smaller dogs. Slinky enjoys the attention of humans and is learning that it is safe to seek them out. Car rides are new and a little scary right now. She will get the hang of it with more opportunities.
