Luna is a 5-year-old low-rider girl who epitomizes why it’s great to adopt an adult dog. She has lots of training and listens well to her people, so you she can jump right into your new life together and focus on the fun stuff! She is an Australian Cattle Dog/Corgi mix who weighs around 35 lbs. and is smart as can be. Her flex is that she knows all of these commands and more: sit, stay, come, lay down, up, off/down, shake, focus, fetch, leave it, eat and kennel. She’s also great on a leash, easy company for any length of walks you’d like to take – she’s happy whether it’s a short neighborhood stroll or a longer trail walk or hike. Luna’s absolute favorite activity is playing fetch. No matter what kind of toy you’re throwing, she’s pumped to go get it and bring it back, as many times as you want. Playing with her is the way to her heart; her playmates are her best people. Her special trick, which will melt your heart, is that Luna gives hugs. Had a rough day or need a little lift? Kneel down, pat your chest, and say “hug,” and Luna will put her paws on your shoulders and nuzzle her head under your neck while you give her a gentle squeeze. Ahhh, all better now. Luna is house-trained and crate-trained, and she sleeps with her people at night – either in their bed or on a blanket on the floor in their room. She can get stressed around young children, so she should live with kids over age 12 or so. New people can take a little time for her to adapt to, and she might be protective at first, but with time, she’ll be your loyal buddy. Being homeless and at a shelter isnt fun - can be downright scary. I was at a small&#44 rural town shelter which doesnt get much traffic. I was then fortunate to go to Great Plains to a much bigger town. Ohhhhhh&#44 Im hoping that it will help me find my own family and home.<br/><br/>The staff/volunteers are super nice and Im slowly feeling more confident with everything being new to me. I enjoy playing with stuffy toys and know the command&#44 sit. I walk nicely and do like back rubs (who doesnt?). You need to see me with other dogs. I am not bashful at all with other dogs. We speak the same language. Dogs give me confidence in myself and WOW playing in playgroups with different dogs is heaven for me. <br/><br/>Do you have a dog that would enjoy having a brother? Id be happy to have a sister or brother or both. Bring your dog(s) and lets meet. Im a good boy and look forward to meeting you. <br/><br/>All my love&#44<br/>Bowie

Meet Ziggy! This boy is a super speedy ball of energy and FUN! You absolutely can never get bored with him around. It's difficult to tell in a photo, but he is a super fun sized guy weighing in at only 38 lbs.! He's the perfect fit if you're looking for someone who can kick it with the big dogs, and has a big personality, but in a compact size! Ziggy is about 5 years old, he loves to play with his friends and definitely keeps us all laughing with his goofy, zoomie personality. Ziggy craves social interaction, from humans and other dogs. His previous owner left him alone on a tie out often, which caused him to have some separation anxiety. Having other dogs to play with has definitely helped him in this area, but he will still need a home where he will not be alone long hours of the day everyday. He would also do best in a home with a canine companion to play with. Ziggy will need an active family, he is a fun loving, high energy dog. He would not be an appropriate fit for someone who does not have the time to give him a lot of daily exercise and activity. Ziggy loves kids, but he is pretty hyper and needs to work on manners, so he may be to much for small toddlers and babies. However, older kids would be okay. Ziggy needs at least a 6 foot fence for any home with a yard, he can jump a four foot fence. Ziggy would be best in a home without cats or really tiny dogs as he wants to chase and play and is just a little to much for them. He is crate trained and should transition into housetraining quickly. If you have another dog, we will want to introduce them to ensure that they get along well.
