Story
Cooper is ready to travel to a community that will truly cherish him as a family member. He is currently in Oklahoma at our rescue. Because we want his transition to be as smooth as possible, we arrange direct-to-adopter transport to specific cities (listed below!). Adoptions are finalized in advance so that Cooper can hop off the transport and right into your waiting arms. We stand by our pups for life—in the rare event it isn't a perfect match, Cooper is never without a safety net; he will simply return to our care in Oklahoma on the next available transport until his perfect home is found. Meet Cooper: The Ultimate Adventure Partner! Breed: 33% Australian Shepherd, 21% Mini Australian Shepherd, 20% Rat Terrier, and 8 other smaller breeds at 10% or less. Age: 1.5 – 2 Years Old Weight: 36 lbs (The perfect medium size!) Personality: High Energy / People-Oriented Ready, Set, Cooper! If you are looking for a dog with brains, beauty, and a motor that never quits, meet Cooper. This stunning young man is at that perfect age where he’s finished with puppyhood but has all the "go-go-go" you could ever want in a companion. With his striking tricolor coat and those alert, intelligent ears, Cooper is a head-turner. But he’s more than just a pretty face—he’s a smart, focused boy who is ready for a job, a hike, or a long game of fetch. Cooper’s Highlights: • A People Person: Cooper genuinely enjoys the company of humans. He is friendly, attentive, and eager to please his people. • Family Potential: We think he would do fine with children, and we are happy to test him with kids upon request to ensure a perfect match. • Travel Ready: Whether it’s a trip to the local trail or a weekend getaway, Cooper is an excellent passenger. He rides quietly and calmly in the car. • Leash Skills: He’s already ahead of the game! Cooper knows how to walk on a leash, making him a great partner for daily walks or jogs. • Athletic & Agile: At 36 lbs, he is lean, fast, and agile. He would likely excel in agility training, frisbee, or any activity that challenges his mind and body. The Ideal Home: Cooper has been spending his time recently in a barn setting, so he is still learning the ropes of indoor life. While we aren’t sure if he’s fully housebroken yet (housebroken selected when listing, “unknown” means “no” to Petfder), his breed mix is famously intelligent and quick to learn routines. In typical herding dog fashion, Cooper does like to chase small animals, including cats (OK with cats selected, “unknown” means “no” with Petfinder). However, he never shows aggression or tries to hurt them; he truly seems to just want to play! Because he is a high-energy "working" breed mix, he isn’t a couch potato. He is looking for an active family or individual who understands the needs of herding breeds—someone who will provide him with plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and a "job" to do. Are you ready to add some high-speed joy to your life? Cooper is waiting to meet his new best friend! Video of Cooper: https://youtube.com/shorts/lzpPKyIJqX4?si=LstXj6BAig8Fjce6 Health & Wellness Cooper is a healthy boy and will arrive at his new home fully "vetted" and ready for a fresh start! His adoption includes: Fully Vetted: Chico is already neutered and up-to-date on all his essential vaccinations (Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella). Prevention: He has been dewormed and is kept on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Tested heartworm negative on April 29. Safety First: To ensure he is in tip-top shape for his new family, he will be microchipped and receive a fresh fecal exam and a certified Health Certificate—all performed within 10 days of his transport date. Adoption Details Cooper’s adoption fee is $700. This fee is all-inclusive, covering his neuter, all veterinary care listed above, and his seat on a professional transport service dedicated to getting him safely to your area. If you feel Cooper is the perfect fit for your family, we’d love to hear from you! Story
Rouge is a happy & affable dog outdoors, where she's comfortable around all kinds of people, vehicles, and dogs. At dog parks she is polite with the other dogs and loves to receive pets from the humans. Her favorite actives include: catching frisbee, hikes and treat puzzles. She knows basic commands and several tricks. She’s highly food motivated and very trainable.Rouge has some behavior issues indoors. She guards the home, and so she will bark when people approach the door and gets over-excited when people enter. She may display herding/heeling behaviors towards guests. She has separation anxiety, for which she takes Fluoxetine daily, but she's not destructive when left alone. Rouge has bitten 3 times in her life; she is not aggressive but will resort to a nip or a bite if scared and cornered. Her ideal next owner will be be, experienced with herding dogs, can spend 2+ hours on enrichment, and has access to outdoor space.Since my divorce I am unable to give her the care she needs :(

Story
Welcome Louie to CCPAL Rescue. Louie is an Aussie mix is our best guess. He looks like he is mixed with something small. He is about 8 pounds now and should be medium sized full grown. We think 25-30 full grown. He is very sweet, has good eye contact and has a soft coat and down ears. His coat is really soft. He is active and the group is vocal but not over the top. A person that does not work all day every day for 5 days a week is the best for a puppy. Someone that can work from home some or has partial days or some days off to spend to help your new puppy acclimate is best. You need time to be with your puppy to socialize them and to finish off their puppy training. Louie was very easy to handle taking his photos and he wasn’t afraid of new people and liked being held. He sat on the table with confidence while we worked with him. He is getting daily attention and holding at the Rescue. He is getting his DHPP vaccinations and dewormed. He is good in his play group. He is kenneled in the evening and is learning to go potty on a wee pad. He is currently at the CCPAL Rescue in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. His adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See his cute video

Story
Hi, I’m Misty 💛 I’m a 3-year-old girl, a Border Collie–Samoyed mix, and I weigh about 17kg. People often notice my soft, fluffy coat first… but my favorite little charm? One of my ears folds slightly—it’s my special signature look 😊 I was rescued from a shelter where my time was almost up, but you wouldn’t know it if you met me. I’m bright, happy, and full of love. I really love people. Even if we’ve just met, I’ll come right up to you like we’ve known each other forever. I love attention, I love affection, and I love sharing little moments together. I’m also great with other dogs! I get along well with my furry friends and don’t like conflict—I’d much rather play and enjoy good company. If you like going on walks or playing together, I’ll be so happy. And after we’ve had our fun? I’m just as happy to rest quietly by your side. I have a nice balance of energy—I can be active, but I also know how to relax at home. I’m still learning what it means to live in a home. Things like potty habits and house rules might be new to me, but I’m a smart girl (that Border Collie side of me helps!), and I learn quickly when someone is patient and consistent with me. I don’t need perfection. I don’t need everything to be ready from the start. I just need someone who will understand me, teach me gently, and stay by my side as I learn. Because I’m already ready to love you. All I’m waiting for… is a family who will love me back, and give me a place to finally belong. Will you be family? 💛

Story
Hi! My name is Cookie 🍪🤍 I’m a 1-year-old female Border Collie mix, about 15kg — a lovable medium-sized girl with a bright spirit and an even brighter heart. When I was still very young, I was placed on a euthanasia list. But someone chose not to give up on me. I was rescued and spent a month at a training center for evaluation — and the result was summed up in one word: “Perfect.” ✨ Now I’m living safely in a foster home, waiting for my forever family. My biggest charm? My social skills! I get along beautifully with other dogs, especially smaller ones. I’m playful and energetic, but also thoughtful — I actually prefer playing with dogs smaller than me and adjust my energy to match theirs. I don’t just play… I play kindly. 🐶💕 I love running, playing, and burning off my energy with friends. I prefer pottying outdoors, and after a good play session, I’m happy and satisfied. If you already have a dog at home, I think we could be the perfect team! When I first meet new people, I might look a tiny bit shy. But don’t worry — it doesn’t take long for me to warm up. I’ll gently approach, open my heart, and show you my sweet, affectionate side. I have a quiet kind of charm that sneaks up on you. 🤍 Because I’m still young, I’m happiest when I’m not alone. I truly thrive when I have a dog friend to run and play with. A life where I can share my days — that’s the life that fits me best. My second chance at life saved me. Now I’m hoping for a life where I’m never alone again. A home filled with warmth, family, and maybe even a furry best friend. Will you be my forever family? 🐾💕

Story
Hi, my name is McCall 🖤🤍 I’m a 2-year-old Border Collie boy weighing 18kg, and most people notice my eyes first. One shines bright blue, and the other is deep and dark — my special odd eyes make everyone look twice. But I hope one day, when you look at me, you’ll see more than just my appearance. I hope you’ll see my heart, too. Before rescue, my life was not very kind. I spent a long time tied to a short leash, without the freedom to run, play, or simply be a happy young dog. I didn’t receive the love and care every dog deserves. But somehow, even after everything, I still love people very much. Being with humans is my favorite thing in the world. I love when people play with me, talk to me, and spend time with me. Throw a ball for me, run around with me, or simply laugh with me, and you’ll see my whole face light up. I don’t just want toys or treats — I want connection. I watch people closely, respond to their emotions, and get so excited when someone gives me attention and love. I also enjoy making dog friends and playing with them. I’m naturally social, cheerful, and friendly, so I usually fit in well wherever I go. Because I’m a Border Collie, I’m a very smart boy. I learn quickly, notice patterns fast, and pay close attention to people and my surroundings. I’m happiest when I can use both my body and my brain. Training, games, learning routines, and communicating with my family are things that truly make me feel fulfilled. But I should be honest with you too — I have a lot of energy! I’m still young, and I love to run, explore, and stay active. A short walk alone probably won’t be enough for me. I dream of a family who enjoys adventures, outdoor time, play sessions, and teaching me new things. If you love spending time with your dog instead of simply having a dog beside you, we might be perfect for each other. There’s something important you should know: I’ve never really experienced normal family life before. Living inside a home, learning routines, waiting calmly alone, understanding house manners — these are all new things for me. Sometimes I may get excited, curious, or make little mistakes while I learn. But I promise I’m trying my best. I’m not a “difficult” dog. I’m simply a dog who is finally getting the chance to learn what love and family feel like. With patience, guidance, and kindness, I know I can become an incredible companion. Once, I could only watch the world from the end of a short chain. Now, I’m waiting for the chance to run freely, feel safe, and belong to someone forever. Maybe my odd eyes are special… but what I really hope you’ll love is my warm heart, my happy spirit, and how much I want to share my life with you. I’ll be waiting for my forever family. Maybe it’s you. 🖤🤍
