Hi, my name is Maddie Fortune! I'm a beautiful six-year-old Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler and I weigh about 52 pounds. My world changed when my owner had to move into a nursing care facility. My best friend, Freckles, and I lost the only home we had ever known, but thankfully a wonderful rescue stepped in to help us find the loving forever homes we deserve. I'm a sweet, gentle girl with a calm nature. Since coming into rescue, Ive learned how to walk on a leash something I never needed before because I had a large fenced yard where I could run and explore. I enjoy going on walks and spending time with my people, but I prefer quieter environments over busy, hectic ones. I'm still building my confidence with new experiences, so I'll do best in a home with a securely fenced yard while I settle in. Because of my personality, my caregivers don't think an apartment or condo without a yard would be the right fit for me. With a little patience and encouragement, my confidence continues to grow every day. I get along well with other dogs, I'm calm and well-mannered in the house, and I'm not much of a barker. Ive also spent time around my family's grandchildren and did very well. I haven't been around cats, so I'm hoping for a home without feline roommates. I'm house trained, crate trained, heartworm negative, and currently on heartworm prevention. I'm also spayed, microchipped, healthy, and up to date on all of my vaccinations. **Lucas is currently being fostered in Houston TX but is available for out of state adoption via rescue transport at no added fee to adopters. We offer video chat for you to meet your pup prior to committing to adoption, and have a guaranteed return process for all our dogs** Lucas is your all around adventure pup who loves to run, play, swim, repeat! This dog has a ton of energy and just loves to be right beside his human best friend! He was found as a stray on the streets of Houston TX, where he was rescued by a good Samaritan who made sure he was safe, and vetted. Unfortunately, they didn't have a lot of space and Lucas started to get anxious being in such confined spaces with no way to run. Being the breeds he is, this caused him to mentally deteriorate a little and thus he was brought to us. Lucas has since settled in beautifully now that he has land to run in, friends to play with, toys aplenty and all the water time he could ask for. While he can be a little needy at times, we don't blame him given the confined spaces he endured before being brought here. Anyone who loves to run and was cooped up for as long as he was would be! However, he has really started to thrive with the right environment. Lucas is a very intelligent dog who is eager to please and quick to learn. He picks things up quickly, and is bold and confident in his learning style so it doesn't take much at all. Treats, toys, a good belly rub, all are equal enough to him to work for and he definitely will work for it! He is crate trained, and has done well to introduction to all things home life. He really loves toys, and is constantly looking to play, fetch, run, and seek all the fun things! He also really loves the water, and any chance he gets he is in the pool, which, given how hot the summer has been we don't blame him! He would do great with a family looking for someone to inject energy and life into the home. He is 100% a persons dog, and would do best with someone who has the time and space for him to grow and play. Even though he is a husky, he is a relatively quiet dog who isn't a loud barker, though he will whine if he wants a toy and isn't seeming to get our attention for it. But otherwise, no howling here! Meet Quarry - URGENT FOSTER NEEDED! We'd love to get him into a loving home ASAP and we also need to make some moves in which dogs are where, so we're hoping someone will step up to take this guy in! Quarry is one of five young Aussie pups we rescued from a puppy mill situation in Eastern WA. Like the others, he suffered porcupine quill injuries—but his were the worst we’ve ever seen. This poor boy even had quills down his throat. When we found him, Quarry was starving, in pain, and desperately pawing at his face to try to escape the agony. It broke our hearts. The good news? He’s been to the vet, the quills are gone, and he’s on the road to recovery. At the rescue kennel, he’s started taking food from our hands (pill pockets are his favorite!). But Quarry is still very shy—understandable after the trauma he’s endured. Now we need your help. Quarry needs a patient foster home with no cats, where he can finally leave the kennel behind, learn to trust again, and discover what it means to be safe and loved.
