Meet Maldive Maldive is a 3-month-old aussie/hound mix puppy who came to the rescue as part of an unwanted litter of four. She’s currently thriving in foster care and is now ready to find her forever home with a dedicated, loving family. Maldive is a lively, affectionate, and curious little pup who loves interacting with people and exploring her surroundings. Like most puppies, she will need help with potty training, crate training, and learning household routines, but she is at the perfect age to learn quickly and form a strong bond with her new family. Maldive would do best in a home that can provide patience, consistency, and lots of love. She is playful, sweet, and eager to become a cherished member of a family who will help her thrive. You get a 5-day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process, we conduct a home visit either in person or via Zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI, or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $125 once we receive proof of the procedure. Meet Spicy. Spicy is a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix who is loyal and sweet. This petite girl weighs around 35 pounds and is the perfect size for both couch cuddles and everyday adventures. Spicy is a gentle soul who is blossoming more each day and learning what it means to be a loved companion. She recovered beautifully from her spay and has been making steady progress in her foster home—this resilient pup is ready for her next chapter! She may be a little shy at first and can take some time to warm up, but once she trusts you, her affectionate personality truly shines. Spicy loves to cuddle, seeks out human attention, and is happiest when she’s right by your side. If you’re looking for a calm, loyal companion, she will happily fill that role. Spicy is fairly low energy, making her a great fit for a quieter home. She’s doing well with potty training—she will go outside when taken out, though she still has occasional accidents as she continues to learn. Being kept on a schedule will be key to her success! She knows “sit,” is working on “stay,” and responds to her name most of the time. She’s also very treat-motivated, which makes training a great bonding opportunity. Spicy would ideally do best as the only pet in the home, where she can soak up all the love and attention. She can coexist around other animals, but she prefers to have her people to herself and will benefit from continued guidance and structure. (She currently lives with a dog, which she does well with, but does not do well with the cat) She enjoys chew bones and tougher toys but isn’t too interested in balls or plush toys. She tolerates brushing well, and while baths aren’t her favorite, she does best with a little extra support. Ideally (but not a dealbreaker), Spicy would love a home with a fenced yard and someone home more often than not. That said, we are willing to consider a variety of home environments with the right commitment to her routine and continued confidence-building. Spicy is looking for a patient, loving home that will give her time, consistency, and reassurance as she continues to build confidence.
