His life there was very stressful which led to him being fearful of loud noises. Cooper is loving, warm and friendly much of the time. He will need a quiet environment with someone who will give him time and space to feel comfortable in his new surroundings.  Cooper is 7 years old and about 23 pounds. Do you live alone, have no other animals, have a fenced in yard and are able to put him away when you have company.   If so Cooper may be the dog for you.  He is affectionate and playful and enjoys nice long walks.  He is an excellent companion, he just can’t take a lot of excitement. Cooper is a beagle who loves to sniff,  watch him entertain himself here. She is a happy, playful girl who is about 6 years old and 49 pounds. This senior sweetie still has much love to give.  Sasha has been dog tested and does fine. She does well on a leash and will be a great companion for someone.  She can keep herself occupied and throws her toys up in the air. It’s so much fun to watch and she will be a wonderful work from home buddy.   Sasha can be timid so takes a little time to warm up, we think she would do best in a quiet home. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Peanut was found as a stray and brought to the shelter. Peanut is estimated to be about a year old and is a lively little guy. He was only 17 pounds when we got him but is now 23 pounds.  At his recent vet visit they said he is just perfect at that weight and in good health. We can’t imagine how he became homeless as he is such a sweet and nice little puppy who loves to play fetch and is always happy. In his foster home Peanut is learning many commands, some leash-walking skills and enjoys his foster dog siblings.  He is being crate trained at this time but appears to be house broken. Peanut seems to be great with children although still a bit jumpy so we recommend him living only with children above 6 years old.  Peanut would do great with another dog to play with. A fenced in yard is a must for Peanut. He is a beagle and with that comes his beagle bay so apartment living is not appropriate for him. He would do best in a home with people not out for long hours. Peanut is active and attends doggy day care on a regular basis so an active family is the best fit for him!! Eliot and his siblings were born to a feral mama on the streets of Puerto Rico.  They have been in foster ever since and will arrive in NJ for adoption on 5/27.  This lovable litter likes other dogs, cats and children.  They are currently 2 months old and will be medium size when fully grown. The name is Puerto Rican slang for "street dog," but they are also known as Puerto Rican Found Dogs in the U.S. They are the homeless dogs, or urban free-ranging dogs, that live in Puerto Rican cities. Satos are small to medium dogs, usually not more than 35-40lbs. They have large ears that flop, long snouts and legs that seem just a tiny bit too short for their bodies.
