Introducing the most beautiful blue eyed girl, Bagel! Bagel is 2-3 years old and is the perfect size right around 40 lbs. We aren’t sure what’s in her mix but maybe some bully/beagle. She arrived in NJ after being rescued from living in a tent with her 12 young puppies who have all since found their forever homes, and now it’s Bagel’s turn! Bagel absolutely loves people and is extremely gentle with them - she is great with adults and children alike. She is happy to chill out and cuddle with you on the couch but will happily follow you everywhere you go (especially the kitchen!). She is 100% housebroken and has never been destructive in her foster home. She rides calmly in the car and loves to look around at where you’re going. Bagel does have some reactivity to other dogs that she will need continued training on, but she is very treat motivated! She has lived with another small dog while in her foster home, but she would likely do best as an only dog or with a very patient and experienced family that can slowly introduce her to another dog. We got Miles when he was 3 months old. It has been 6 years since then, and I fear he is no longer happy under our care. Miles lives with my parents and me, and we used to have the time to play and take care of his mental and physical needs. However, now that I am in school and also have a full-time job, it has become challenging to do so. Recently, my parents decided to take in a stray, which is all good and well. However, Miles does not get along with other dogs, so not only do we not have time for Miles, but they've also taken on another dog, and the situation hasn't. The two dogs have to be separated from each other on a small leash, and it is just a miserable scenario for all parties involved. I love Miles more than anything, and I would have loved to keep him but my parents refuse to give up the other dog, and I love Miles enough to know that this is far from what he deserves. So that is why I decided to put him up for adoption and pray that someone will save him from this

My name is Dusty! I am 6 to 7 years old and 30 lbs. I am a mature adult that is easy to have around! I am low maintenance, friendly and really enjoying the comforts of a real home. I was found wandering around a college campus in Texas. Prior to that, someone told the rescue I was kept outside and never really got to experience the joys of heat, A/C, a dog bed, safety from animals outside and just some peace and quiet. Since coming here, I have soaked it all up. I am so appreciative of my cushy surroundings that I spend a lot of my day hanging out on my amazing bed, snoozing, looking out the window, sitting next to my humans, asking for pets, grazing on my food and just basking in the comforts of the indoor life. I enjoy short strolls and bird watching. I have no desire to venture far from my new found haven. When I am in "hunting mode," I don't even pull, I just hang out and stare :). I am also housebroken and while I am fine in a crate, I really don't need it! I am dog friendly but I don't need them either. I would be great as an only and probably prefer it now that I have had it. It would be super fun to have my own space and people after all I have endured. Older kids would be best for me or an adult family home. I don't need chaos! We aren't sure on cats but I am pretty chill... PS - I have an impressive side eye! I am located in NJ. Meet Twix, an adorable 35-pound Basset Hound mix with short legs, long ears, and a whole lot of love to give. This girl is the total package — playful, snuggly, goofy, and incredibly sweet. Twix is a big fan of toys and is happiest when she’s carrying one around or trotting across the room with her tail wagging. She will also fetch a ball, although not always bring it back to you! I mean, come on, she’s a Basset Hound, not a Retriever!! While she has shown no signs of food or toy possessiveness in her foster home, adopters should always be mindful and practice good supervision, just as you would with any dog. She’s a happy sharer, but we always recommend common-sense precautions in new environments. Twix gets along well with most dogs and enjoys playtime. She can be a tiny bit snarky upon first meeting (Basset sass, what can we say?), but she settles quickly once she realizes everyone’s friendly. Twix is crate trained and will serenade you with a short Basset aria before settling down. She’s still working on her house training, but she does great when kept on a consistent schedule. She also rides beautifully in the car, hops in and out on her own, and handles stairs like a champ. At her core, Twix is a loving, joyful dog who adores attention and wants nothing more than to be someone’s cuddle buddy. She’s truly a wonderful companion, and the person who adopts her is going to be very, very lucky.
