Meet Maeve: A Tiny Texas Girl with a Big Heart and a Brighter Future Ahead
Maeve is a petite 15-pound sweetheart who looks like a miniature German Shepherd. She’s about a year old, spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, house-trained, and crate-trained. Smart and food-motivated, Maeve loves hand-feeding and gentle treats—both great ways to build trust with this sensitive soul. She’s also rocking one adorable white “sock” on her paw, which only adds to her charm.
Originally from Texas, Maeve was deeply bonded to her larger “big brother” in the shelter. After they were separated, she bounced from shelter to shelter until she finally made her way to Pennsylvania. Since arriving in her foster home, she’s slowly but beautifully blossomed.
Maeve is shy with new people but incredibly gentle. With patience and kindness, she’s gone from trembling at human touch to curling up beside her foster parents on the couch, offering soft kisses in exchange for ear rubs. She rides well in the car, doesn’t bark or cry, and is as low-maintenance as they come—just give her a cozy spot and your quiet company.
She sleeps soundly in her crate at night (her safe space), but during the day, she has free roam of the home and does wonderfully—no accidents, no chewing, just calm, peaceful vibes. Maeve also walks nicely on a leash and enjoys trips to the dog park to observe or lightly socialize. While she gets along with all dogs, she really thrives with large, confident pups who can show her the ropes and help build her confidence.
Her ideal home is quiet, adult-only (no kids under 14), and free of cats. More than anything, Maeve is looking for someone patient and gentle—someone who enjoys helping shy butterflies spread their wings. She’s incredibly smart and would love a home where she can learn tricks or even try agility one day.
