Story
Melly has been a special addition to our family for about 6 years. Due to unforeseen family health circumstances, we’re heartbroken to have to rehome him. Melly is just a huge love bug. He adores cuddling in warm, cozy spots and wants all the affection you can give. He’s an old soul who thrives on close companionship. Melly is wonderful with children, but would likely prefer a calm, peaceful household at this stage of life. He likes to stay within eyesight and will experience separation anxiety when left alone. Preferably someone who works from home and can take him everywhere, as he cannot be left alone due to his separation anxiety. Another dog in the home would likely keep him calm and give companionship for the potential of leaving him. He’s fully house- and crate-trained. Melly has a history of Lyme disease, so his joints occasionally bother him—especially during cold or rainy weather—but he manages well with love and care. Melly is gun shy and CANNOT be used as a hunting dog.

Meet Trixie! This sweet 10-week-old, thought to be a Beagle mix, came into rescue alongside her momma and five siblings. Based on her mom’s size (around 30 lbs) and Trixie's current weight of 8lbs, she's expected to grow into a happy, medium-sized dog when fully grown. She’s bursting with energy and curiosity. Always ready for her next adventure, she loves playing with all kinds of small toys, though her absolute favorite is a tennis ball. She happily pushes it around with her nose or paws and chases it all over the house. Trixie also loves running outside in the snow and playing with other dogs. Like the Energizer Bunny, she keeps going and going until it’s finally time for bed. While she does take short napsthroughout the day, anything that catches her eye quickly brings her right back into play mode. When she’s worn out from a day full of adventures, Trixie enjoys cuddling during her quick napsand settling into her crate to wind down for the night. If you’re looking to add excitement, joy,and nonstop fun to your life, Trixie may be the perfect puppy for you and your family. Meet Lila-Ann! This sweet 5-year-old, 30lb gal, thought to be a Beagle mix, came into rescue along with her 6 pups. When Lila-Ann arrived, she was underweight and missing patches of fur. But with love and care, she has made an incredible transformation. Thanks to her amazing foster family, Lila-Ann has fully embraced her new role as a certified couch potato. She loves relaxing on the couch next to her human or furry friends, especially when she’s tucked under a cozy blanket. Belly rubs are a must, and her favorite pastime is chewing on a good bone while lounging comfortably. Lila-Ann is a calm, laid-back girl who prefers a quiet, peaceful environment. She isn’t a fan of loud noises but gets along wonderfully with other dogs and doesn’t mind cats. True to her couch-loving nature, she’s not very active and is still learning how to walk on a leash with help from her foster family. She would do best in a home with older children who can respect her gentledemeanor. Lila-Ann is looking for a loving family who enjoys slow days, cozy snuggles, and plenty of belly rubs. Hey there, I’m Rooney! I’m a 5-year-old Beagle/Redbone Coonhound mix, and while I might look like a potato or maybe even a hunting dog who’s enjoyed a few too many snacks, I’m so much more! I’m a loyal protector and a world-class couch potato, though, I’m currently on a 'fitness journey' to find my inner athlete again. My foster mom has me on this 'diet' food—I wasn't a fan at first, but hey, it grows on you! I currently weigh 67 lbs, but my ideal weight is probably more like 30-45 lbs. Right now, my goal is to shed 20 pounds so I can really zoom around the yard and enjoy the long walks I love. My doctor said I might be double my ideal weight, but my heart sounds wonderful and that makes me so happy. I’m a perfect house guest: house-broken, crate-trained, and I never touch 'human' stuff. However, if you give me a stuffed toy, consider that squeaker evicted—it’s my favorite hobby! I am such an easy going dog that gets along with every dog and human I meet, though tend to bark at anybody new so they know I'm in charge. I am neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and ready to be your best friend! I am looking for someone to continue my fitness journey so I can live a long and healthy life with unlimited snuggles on the couch. Do you think you're the one for me? Based on her mom’s size (around 30 lbs), Chilli will most likely be a medium-sized dog when fully grown. Chilli is a sweet, calm girl who loves nothing more than snuggling with her people and playing with her toys. She’s a smart pup and is doing great with potty training when she has consistent reminders to go outside. She already knows how to sit and follow basic commands and is also doing very well with crate training. When she’s not cuddling, Chilli enjoys playing and digging in the snow.
