Story
Melly has been a special addition to our family for about 6 years. Due to unforeseen family health circumstances, we’re heartbroken to have to rehome him. Melly is just a huge love bug. He adores cuddling in warm, cozy spots and wants all the affection you can give. He’s an old soul who thrives on close companionship. Melly is wonderful with children, but would likely prefer a calm, peaceful household at this stage of life. He likes to stay within eyesight and will experience separation anxiety when left alone. Preferably someone who works from home and can take him everywhere, as he cannot be left alone due to his separation anxiety. Another dog in the home would likely keep him calm and give companionship for the potential of leaving him. He’s fully house- and crate-trained. Melly has a history of Lyme disease, so his joints occasionally bother him—especially during cold or rainy weather—but he manages well with love and care. Melly is gun shy and CANNOT be used as a hunting dog.

Story

Meet Lela Lela is a sweet 3-year-old, 40 lb hound mix who has truly been blossoming in foster care over the past couple of weeks. She’s currently finishing up medication for a skin infection and healing beautifully, and may even fill out a bit more as she continues to settle in. This lovely girl enjoys following her hound nose on walks and does great on a leash. Lela is friendly and gentle with both kids and adults, and she gets along well with other dogs when given a slow, proper introduction. She’s also house trained and crate trained, making her an easy and wonderful addition to a home. Lela is looking for a loving family to share walks, adventures, and lots of cozy snuggles. Meet Cleo! Cleo is a spunky senior, estimated to be around 10 years young — but you’d never guess it when you see her excitement for treats, walks, and car rides. Despite a difficult few months before coming to rescue, Cleo’s sweet spirit shines through. She was left in a home for about seven months with two other dogs and three cats, with kind visitors stopping by daily to care for them. Because of this experience, Cleo can feel a little anxious when left alone and would thrive in a home where her person is around most of the time. A few things to love about Cleo: Dog, cat, and kid friendly Sleeps soundly through the night — happily in her crate or snuggled beside you Doing well with house training when kept on a regular schedule Gentle, loving personality — she simply wants to be near her human Cleo is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. He was found loose in Indiana and spent several months in a shelter. He is fearful and shy when meeting new people. He will bond very strongly to a female and would thrive with someone who wants a loyal little shadow. Waylon is crate trained and also potty trained using a dog door. He gets along well with our 3 beagles and is a true couch potato at heart. He enjoys quietly playing with his toys and chewing on his Nyla bones before curling up beside "his person." Waylon would do best in a quiet, female-only household with a secure 6-foot wooded fenced yard. Another calm dog could help him continue building confidence. He needs someone patient and gentle who wants to continue his training and socialization building. He is approximately 2 1/2 years old, 27 lbs., and appears to be a smaller sized beagle. He is very athletic and loves to run and play. He has a big personality and is very smart. Sonny would do best in a beagle experienced home as he is your typical beagle (adorable with a side of mischievous!). He sits nicely for treats, potties on leash, and sleeps quietly in a crate at night. He will also stay in a crate during the day as long as he has something to keep his mind occupied but really prefers being with his people on the couch. He is very curious and loves to explore. During quiet times, he loves to entertain himself with chew toys. A fenced in yard is a plus as he was a stray and was out exploring the world without boundaries. Sonny will do best in a home where he can be the only pet and where his humans are mostly home. He could also benefit from training classes to build confidence and develop the skills he needs to become a well-adjusted and successful companion in his new home. She’s happiest when she’s curled up beside you, soaking in chin and belly scratches—or better yet, snuggled up in bed for a cozy night’s sleep. Goldie truly loves her humans and forms strong bonds. Goldie has a medium energy level and knows some basic commands like “come,” “sit,” and “leave it.” She’s both house-trained and crate-trained, and will even go into her crate on her own to relax.
