She’s likes to go for long walks, loves chasing a laser around, and loves naps in the sun. She’s is also a very friendly dog and gets along with all people and other dogs. Dexter is a sweet, goofy 9-year-old Boxer/Bulldog mix (65 lbs) who’s equal parts couch snuggler and fetch enthusiast. He loves people most of all and would happily trade solo toy time for a human throwing the ball instead—though he’ll entertain himself in a pinch. In a series of bad breaks...Dexter recently got a bit too enthusiastic during backyard ball time and permeated his eye. The vet said it had to go, so he's now got a permanent wink going on. Honestly? We think it makes him look even cuter! Bruce came from a home that had multiple other dogs who were all allowed to run at large. The husband passed away and the wife was not able to care for any of them, nor could she take Bruce with her when she was evicted from her home. This poor boy ended up in a local animal control facility. Bruce is 1-2 years old and weighs around 56 pounds. He walks nicely on a leash, too. Bruce is now with Eleventh Hour Rescue who will help him find a home that is secure and loving. She would thrive with active owners who can match her energy level, and although she's good with dogs, she appreciates canine friends who mind their manners. Violet loves a good game of fetch and will spend hours in our kiddie pools if we let her. Violet is excellent in the car and a superb walking companion; she even enjoys a good run with her volunteer friends. She is sweet and cuddly but sometimes prone to over-excitement, so she would do best in a home with older children, if any.
