🤎🐾 MEET LULU — 61 LBS OF BRINDLE BEAUTY, ZOOMIES & UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! 🐾🤎 ✨ Big girl. Bigger heart. Absolutely NO idea how big she is! 😂💕 Meet Lulu, a gorgeous 10–12-month-old brindle girl who we believe may be a Boxer/Great Dane mix, although her exact breed is unknown. At 61 lbs, she's already a big, beautiful girl and we believe she's close to her full-grown size. But here's the thing about Lulu… she thinks she's about 10 pounds! 🤣 💔 FROM SURVIVAL TO SECOND CHANCES Lulu and her brother, Canelo, were found wandering the streets near the Texas/Mexico border. They were painfully skinny, hungry, and covered in fleas and ticks. Thankfully, a kind Good Samaritan couldn't stand to see them suffer and stepped in to help. Today, Lulu and Canelo are safe at a sanctuary in South Texas, and our rescue is stepping up to help find them the loving forever homes they deserve. ❤️ Now it's Lulu's turn to find her people! 🐕 SHE LOVES OTHER DOGS! Lulu absolutely LOVES her canine friends and would do best in a home with another friendly, playful dog. She's an active girl who thrives on having a buddy to run, play, and share adventures with. And when we say run, we mean RUN! 😂 🏃‍♀️ Run around the property. 🐎 Gallop like a little horse. 💨 Get the cutest zoomies imaginable. 🔄 Do a few more laps for good measure! Lulu has energy to spare and is always ready for another round of fun. One of her favorite playmates at the sanctuary is a 30-pound dog. Lulu will come charging over, ready to play, only for her smaller friend to stop her in her tracks. And what does Lulu do? She rolls straight onto her back and shows her belly! 🥹 Despite her size, Lulu is incredibly submissive, gentle, and sweet with her dog friends. She has such a soft heart and a wonderfully goofy personality. 💕 A GENTLE GIANT WITH A LOT OF LOVE TO GIVE Lulu is the kind of dog who could make a wonderful companion for the right family. With her gentle nature, she may even have the potential to become a therapy dog with appropriate training, exercise, and assessment. She does need some continued training, though! Lulu sometimes jumps up on people because she's excited and doesn't realize just how BIG she is. Basic manners and polite greetings will be important for this lovable giant. 🍗 A LITTLE FOODIE WITH A BIG APPETITE! Lulu loves her food… perhaps a little TOO much! 😂 She eats from a slow feeder to help slow things down, and she may be tempted to investigate anything left on the counter. Counter-surfing could become her next hobby if her humans aren't careful! She'll need a family willing to manage food safely, maintain a consistent feeding routine, and continue teaching her those all-important manners. 🏡 THE GOOD NEWS? SHE'S ALREADY HOUSE-TRAINED AND CRATE-TRAINED! That's right! Lulu has a wonderful head start on settling into family life. 🐱 She's seen cats from a distance but hasn't met them up close. Given her sweet, gentle personality, we think she may do well with cats, but a careful introduction and proper supervision would be essential. 💦 She LOVES hopping around in the doggy pool to cool off before heading straight back to her favorite activity… Galloping around! 🛋️ And after all that running? Lulu believes she deserves a spot on the couch, preferably snuggled right up against her humans. In her mind, she's still a tiny lap dog. Who are we to argue? 🤎 🌟 LULU'S DREAM FOREVER HOME We're looking for a family who will: • 🐕 Have another friendly, playful dog for her to enjoy. • 🏃‍♀️ Provide plenty of exercise, running, adventures, and opportunities to burn off her energy. • 🎓 Continue her training and help her learn good manners. • 🍽️ Manage her food and help her develop better mealtime habits. • ❤️ Understand that beneath her big body is a gentle, goofy, affectionate girl. • 🛋️ Make room on the couch for a 61-pound cuddle bug who thinks she's pocket-sized! Lulu has already experienced hunger, hardship, and life on the streets. Now she deserves a life filled with full food bowls, fun adventures, canine friendships, cozy naps, and a family who will love her for the rest of her life. She's goofy. She's gorgeous. She's gentle. She's a little bit of a handful in the most lovable way. And she's ready for her happily ever after. 🥹🤎 Could Lulu be the missing piece of your family? Please consider giving this beautiful girl the forever home she's been waiting for. 🐾💕 PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION BELOW IF INTERESTED IN ADOPTING: The next step to adopt is to fill out an application on our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org LuLu is spayed, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. Story
Tyson is a mixed breed; our best guess is a pit terrier and a Boxer mix, but we cannot guarantee it. He is about 4-5 months old and currently 30 pounds. He was found in a box as a tiny baby, and we weren't sure he would make it to the next day. He looked so bad and defeated, and look what love can do. He is with the foster who found him in Texas, waiting for his forever home! In the meantime, he will visit the vet and get ready to come to the NJ area when adopted. He plays with the other dogs in the foster house, sleeps after dinner in his crate, wakes up at 11 to drink, plays a bit, and goes back to sleep until 6 am, when he lets everyone know it's time to get out of the crate and start the day. He loves snacks, plays with his toys, and loves his bed. He is friendly with the other dogs and humans and has no issues with cats or people. Story
Ruthie is a 2-year-old, 60-lb Boxer mix with a gentle soul and a brilliant mind. Before coming into rescue, Ruthie lived on her own for at least 6 months, skillfully evading capture, multiple trapping attempts, and surviving in an industrial area of town. Fed by kind mechanics and workers, she learned how to stay safe, avoid danger, and always show up for food — and that intelligence still shines through today. After a dramatic capture, Ruthie has been in a foster home, where she’s proven to be a very polite houseguest. She is fully house-trained and, even at her scariest moments, has never shown a hint of aggression — no growling, no raised lips, just fear. Ruthie is shy and deeply cautious with people, but she is sweet, gentle, and incredibly observant. We would not be surprised if Ruthie spent some of her life in someone’s home.  This brainy girl reads the room like a pro. She knows when a human might approach and will quietly skedaddle to keep herself feeling safe. While she’s still very nervous about leashes and handling, she allows most people to gently scratch her muzzle, and she’s learning — slowly but surely — that human touch isn’t such a bad thing. Watching her progress has been incredibly rewarding, especially as she’s started to enjoy ear scratches and soft affection from her foster mom. Ruthie is a great pack dog. She does beautifully with dogs of all sizes and temperaments and enjoys playful wrestling with dogs her size, but doesn’t demand play.  She happily coexists with the resident Chihuahua in her foster home. Ruthie is calm and content indoors and also enjoys a daily visit to the dog park. She’s a quiet presence who’s perfectly happy lounging on a chair, listening to her foster mom’s Zoom calls, and soaking in the safety of home life. At home, Ruthie is her foster mom’s quiet shadow. She sleeps in her room, wiggles with excitement when she comes home, follows her around the dog park — and yet may still hop off her bed and slip away if that same foster mom walks toward her for a pet. With Ruthie, trust is built in tiny, meaningful moments, and every day brings progress. Because of her history, Ruthie is a high flight-risk dog, especially in the early days. She will need a very committed adopter with a securely fenced yard, experience with fearful or flight-risk dogs, and a willingness to use safety tools like GPS collars, double leashes, and secure handling. Strength matters too — this is a 60-lb girl who needs someone confident and prepared. Ruthie has been around children at the dog park and treats them like little adults — with polite, reserved hesitation. She is food-motivated, sweet, and incredibly smart. With patience, structure, and time, she has all the makings of a truly special companion. Ruthie is one of those dogs who, with the right adopter and a few committed months of trust-building, will become a dream dog. Watching her finally relax, feel safe, and just be a dog has been an absolute privilege — and we can’t wait to see her find the forever home she deserves. ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.October 18, 2026, 5:48 pm

Story
Lizzie is a special sweet shy girl looking for a home where she will feel safe and secure! This 3 year old boxer mix spent several months running loose near a dangerously busy road, wandering between businesses but too scared to approach anyone. Our friends at Buddha Dog Rescue and Recovery were able to trap her and she immediately melted and clung to her rescuer for security once she knew she was safe. She's very timid and army crawls up to new people tentatively especially men, and may bark and try to act tough at first. But once she bonds she turns into a happy silly goofy playful boxer. She can be vocal seeing dogs on walks, but lived with another smaller dog and has made LOTS of doggie friends of all sizes at the shelter with proper introductions. She is easily spooked and may try to bolt when startled or in new situations, definitely a flight risk so making sure she's securely leashed at all times is especially important. Lizzie is 63lbs full grown, spayed, updated on shots, and ready to start a new life. Please submit an application to meet Lizzie by appointment. She may take a few visits to warm up and get comfortable with you, but once she bonds you will have a loyal cuddly best friend for life. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.October 18, 2026, 1:36 am
