Story
This adorable 11-month-old girl has been through quite the journey, but her spirit is as strong as ever! Found running down a highway in NY, Bronx's little paws were sore with road rash, and she was missing fur on her legs. She was underweight too, but despite it all, her sweet and happy personality never wavered. Now safe in foster care, this goofy girl is getting the love and care she needs to heal. She’s thriving in a home environment, soaking up affection and playing with her foster siblings (both dogs and cats!). She’s ready for her forever family and is looking for a home where she can continue to be the happy, playful pup she’s meant to be. If you’re ready to give this sweet survivor the love and comfort she deserves, she’s ready to bring endless joy and tail wags into your life! ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments. We will only be looking at applications! 2. Please make sure you fill out our adoption application COMPLETELY. We may not be able to respond to applications that are not completely filled out with the proper information. Side note: on our applications, the more details you provide = the better. 3. We prefer applicants live within 60 miles of Closter, NJ. (Applicants who live farther away may still apply. However, please note we do prioritize local applications as we try our best to serve our local community first.) 4. Please respect our organization, our volunteers and our process. As a reminder, our organization is a nonprofit. We receive no money from the state. We have no paid employees! This is a polite reminder that we are doing our best to make the right decisions for the animals in our care. Thank you. Story
Why Rescue? Because Every Dog Deserves a Second Chance When you adopt a rescue dog, you’re not just saving a life but changing it forever. Rocko Richie is living proof of why second chances matter. Rescued from an overcrowded shelter in Mississippi, Rocko was at risk simply because there wasn’t enough space. But today, he’s safe… and waiting for someone to show him what forever really feels like. Rocko is: Gentle and calm Friendly with people and other dogs A little shy at first, but full of quiet love He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t ask for much—just kindness, patience, and a place to belong. In return, he’ll give you loyalty, gratitude, and a bond that only a rescue dog can offer. All dogs will be altered, microchipped, and receive age-appropriate vaccines prior to adoption. Story
Meet Larry,a sweet and lovable boy who is ready to find his forever home! This charming 2–3-year-old, 50lb Boxer-Hound mix is a laid-back, easygoing pup with a heart full of affection. Larry gets along with everyone including kids and other dogs, making him a perfect addition to a home with furry (and human) friends. He’s also great on a leash, so walks are a breeze for this good boy. Larry’s personality shines with his loving, puppy-like nature. He’s always ready to show affection and enjoys being around people—so much so that he accompanies his foster mom to work fitting right in with the office routine. With his calm, intuitive presence, he could easily be considered a service dog, even without the official certification. During a recent visit to the orthopedist, it was discovered that Larry had previously been shot—an old injury that went undiagnosed until now. He needs to wear a boot on his left rear leg to support mobility and make it more comfortable for him to walk. Despite this, he remains resilient, gentle, and full of love   Neutered and up to date on vaccines, Larry is all set for his next big adventure. This sweet boy made his way from Kentucky to New Jersey back in March and is now looking forward to a home where he can settle down for good   If you’re ready to open your heart to a big, gentle lovebug like Larry, apply for adoption today at https://peace4paws.org/adoption-application. You won’t regret welcoming this adorable, loyal companion into your life!  If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
This is a Courtesy Listing and has no affiliation with Petrescue. Please contact the owner listed below directly. Once used for breeding, Zelda was rescued from a neglectful situation and is now looking for a dedicated human(s) who will give her a stable and loving home! Griselda is around four years old, 60 lbs, UTD on vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. Zelda is being fostered with cats and (male) dogs and has been a delight. She has an exuberant personality, yet she’s is also just a coach potato! She is house and crate trained. Zelda has some slight allergies, but her foster mom is trying to resolve it with diet and an allergy/sensitivity test to get to the bottom of it. Zelda would do best in a calm household with a fairly active human(s), someone who will take her on long walks. Due to some separation anxiety, she cannot be left for a full work day, so someone who works part-time or works from home would be ideal! As Zelda is a dominant breed and housing has become increasingly challenging, we have a 27+ yo age requirement and prefer a home with a fenced yard. We might be open to a condo/apt situation, but it depends on a few variables. For an application, please email Christina FNPPETCARE@gmail.com

Story
Meet Molly, the most cuddly girl who loves to give people hugs! Her favorite activities include playing fetch, and snuggling on the couch with you. A very independent girl that loves her crate. She’s spayed, potty trained, and knows a whole list of commands - sit, down, come, stay, kennel, heel (we’re working on). She’s an active girl that loves her walks, but also really enjoys her long naps. Molly would do best in a single dog household. She is dog selective, so it takes her a bit to warm up. But, she loves every person she meets on the street! If you are interested in Molly, please contact Brooke 248-420-1696.
