Story
Howdy folks, I’m an easygoing good-natured big ol’ Boxer mix named Bongo. I’m young, about 1 year old and I weigh 54 lbs. Like many dogs in San Antonio Texas, I was pushed out of a car onto the side of a busy highway in 100-degree weather. I was completely terrified, confused, and thirsty, lying down in the emergency lane when a lady pulled up beside me, opened her door and I got up and jumped in. That nice lady is now my foster mom, so she is helping me get ready to find a forever home. I now have all my vaccines, neutered a few weeks ago, and in between I am having some fun, meeting new people, had my pictures taken, and I'm playing with all the other dogs who live here. Turns out I’m a pussycat, sweet and gentle, almost motherly with a litter of puppies who live here. My foster mom says I’m a lover, not a fighter and I enjoy snuggling beside her when we relax on the couch watching TV. I make friends with everyone easily, dogs and humans and even a kitty cat who lives here. I know some commands like Sit, Stay, Lay Down, and I love doggy toys. I am very well-behaved, only bark to alert, and I taught myself how to use the doggy door by watching the other dogs. I’m fully housebroken and at night when the doggy door is closed I know how to use a potty pad if I need to go. I walk very nicely on a leash and I don't mind a ride in the car. I’m amazing and ever so grateful to be safe and sound and loved. My future looks bright and I am totally looking forward to meeting the lucky East Coast family who gets to adopt me and make me their forever dog! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Additionally, please note that the breed listed for Kara is just our best guess based on the dog's physical features. We cannot make any guarantees about the accuracy of our guesses. PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO VOLUME, WE ARE GENERALLY UNABLE TO RESPOND TO INQUIRIES MADE USING THE 'ASK ABOUT ME' BUTTON. Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. My name is Kara, and I am on a mission to become your personal solar-powered space heater! I store heat energy by napping in the sun all day and use that energy to warm you up when you're hanging out on the couch after a long day - my favorite spot to be is lying in your lap, across your chest, or sprawled on top of your face. If there's a blanket involved, I want to be under it with you! My personal mission is to snuggle and heat my way into your heart. Kara is a 3 year old pup with an absolute heart of gold and an excitement for all of the finer things in life - she loves naps, slow walks with plenty of time to sniff, meal time and snacks, and infinite cuddles and pets. Her tail wags so hard that her entire body wiggles when it's meal time or when someone arrives home. As Kara has warmed up to her foster home, her personality has come out in a big way - she is sweet, a little goofy and playful with her foster brother, and curious about anything and everything. Her zoomies when she wakes up in the morning have her tearing through the apartment with zeal, and she regularly initiates play time with our other dog. They wrestle and bounce around for 10-15 minutes several times a day like goofy puppies. Kara is fully potty trained, and she has gotten better at going to the bathroom on the sidewalk as well as in a patch of grass. Because Kara is so food motivated, she is learning commands quickly - she's a bit nervous when strange dogs are around, but she is working on "look"ing to redirect her attention back to walking, and she's quickly learning "sit" and "crate". Kara is crate trained and sleeps through the night, though she doesn't love to be left alone and it takes her a bit of time to settle down if no one is in the room with her. She can be distracted with treats, like a kong of frozen wet food to work on.

Grady can be a little shy at first, but quickly warms up as he LOVES humans and is very affectionate and cuddly. Grady is a fast learner and is adapting easily to life in a new city. He initially was wary of his leash, but now he loves going on short walks in the neighborhood and isn't startled by loud noises or other animals. Grady is relatively low energy most of the time but he loves to play fetch with his chew toys. He is also totally adorable and loves a good belly rub!

Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Meet Gina, possibly the cutest, sweetest little girl ever! She’s incredibly intelligent (already knows sit, down, drop it, shake…you can see the gears in her mind working as she thinks), walks well on a leash for short jaunts outside, and loves to snuggle. She has a moderate energy level (think play hard, nap hard lifestyle) and can keep herself entertained playing with a toy. Gina steals the heart of everyone she meets and is showered with compliments about her beautiful, big brown eyes. She’s very close to being fully potty trained but is still getting used to a crate and does not like being left alone. Overall she’s a happy, smart, and cuddly puppy who has a lot of love to give.

Story
Brody is a handsome white boxer boy with such a sweet disposition. He is roughly 2 years old, but is not very energetic and is very easygoing. When you approach Brody's kennel you are often greeted with a wiggly boxer butt and a toy in his mouth. Brody waits nicely for you to put his leash on, and from there on out he is nothing but a pleasure to walk and be with. He is very calm, but positive and loving. Brody gets along well with female dogs and would do well in a home with older kids. He is fully vetted, neutered, and is ready to go home! Please inquire about a possible foster to adopt!
