Howdy folks! I’m an easygoing, good-natured, big ol’ Boxer/Terrier mix named Chopper, and sadly, I look like a bait dog. I’m young, about 10 months old, about 60 lbs, and like many dogs in San Antonio, Texas, I was dumped in the median of a busy highway. It was terrifying to say the least, and bless my lucky stars when an incredibly brave lady dodged traffic on foot to save me. I was thrilled to see her and let her carry me back to her car, and now she is my foster mom! Yep, I wasn't chipped or wearing a collar, so 4 Little Paws Rescue took me in. I am now neutered, chipped, and vaccinated, and the scars on my face are starting to fade. Turns out I’m a pussycat, sweet and gentle, almost motherly, with a litter of puppies who live here. My foster mom says I’m a lover, not a fighter, and I enjoy snuggling beside her when we relax on the couch watching TV. I make friends easily with everyone, dogs, and humans, and I was only curious when I met a kitty cat. I know how to sit on command, and I LOVE doggy toys. I am very well-behaved, fully housebroken, only bark to alert, and I taught myself how to use the doggy door by watching the other dogs. I love going for walks and road trips, and I am a very good listener, giving you my full attention when spoken to. I’m just a teddy bear and ever so grateful to be safe and sound and loved. My future looks bright, and I am totally looking forward to meeting the lucky East Coast family who gets to adopt me and make me their forever dog! About 3.5 years ago, in San Antonio, I was taken in by a local rescue and sent to a foster home, but adoptions in Texas are slow like molasses! Thankfully, 4 Little Paws Rescue, based in Connecticut, has offered to broaden my horizons and get my story and pretty pictures out there to the wonderful people in the Northeast, so I can finally find a forever home before I become a senior citizen!! Drako is a 4 Year Old Boxer Pitbull mix. He is an extremely funny, loving, kind, caring dog who needs someone to give him the time he deserves. He does have some trauma from when he was a puppy, he was bit by other dogs that were being fostered and developed a fear. We went to training but it does take him time to open up. I have two pitbulls, who both need more attention from me, and I believe, in the right home, Drako will be a lot happier. If you’re looking for a dog who will go anywhere with you, that will cuddle you and can keep you on your toes, he is definitely the dog for you. I would love someone experienced since he does have some trauma but he loves any and all people. He is always perfect for the adventurous owner! Great on hikes, runs and long walks.

Our veterinary partner estimates that Spanky is 8 years old at the time of intake in April 2022. Spanky's life was on hold while he languished in a kill shelter with a large tumor on his back. As soon as we found out about Spanky, we pulled him out and sent him to our veterinary partner where the tumor was removed. He is doing great now with his foster and is ready for a forever home! Spanky is good with people and other dogs. He is very sweet, loving, and alert. He loves peanut butter, toys, and spending time in the sun. He takes a toy to bed with him each night. He also enjoys running around the yard. This boy is super sweet and friendly, and his tail never stops wagging! He deserves to live the rest of his life in a happy, loving home.
