Story
Leroy is such a wonderful boy!! He is 6-7yrs old and weighs approx 15lbs. He is the most gentle, easy going, sweet as can be boy! He gets along great with dogs of all sizes, and he’s even great with kitties. And he is very friendly with every person he meets. Leroy is just an all around awesome little dog that will make a lucky person very happy. He is always up for a long walk, and he’s ok just hanging out at home, too. He rides great in the car so he could be a constant companion no matter where you go. And he’s very quiet. He doesn’t seem to get alarmed by anything, but just takes everything in stride. We really can’t say enough about this little treasure! He is fully crate and house trained so can be left alone for a reasonable amount of time. He does love to be with his people so we are primarily looking for a work from home or retired person so he isn’t alone too often. He loves to romp through the yard so a fenced yard would be ideal. He’s gentle with children so kids over 8yrs old are ok.

Hi! My name is Timber and I am available for adoption.I was brought in by a good samaritan on May 14, 2023.I weigh 17.8 lbs and am considered a `small breed` dog.I am treat motivated and will `sit` for them :)I am just a happy and energetic little guy!If you have been looking for a small friend to add to your family please come down to RASKC to visit me!My caregivers have noticed that I seem to do well with other small dog. When meeting dogs in a new home, I would do best with a slow introduction. My personality color is GREEN. I am an adaptable dog who loves to go with the flow! I am outgoing and carefree, and I just can`t wait to find my forever home!

Story
Jax is a sweet, sensitive, playful soul, who loves to please. He is a fan of belly and head rubs, is not a huge cuddler but will get in your lap on his terms. He loves to give kisses!! Jax is nervous being left alone and will need another small dog his size, energy and activity level for companionship, as a playmate and to roughhouse with. His confidence and independence are enhanced when he has both his humans and dog friends including him in fun adventures and stimulating walks where he can explore, sniff and enjoy the many sounds of the outdoors. Jax is a jumper!! He will use a ramp/stairs when prompted -- to protect his back, a quality ramp is a must. He is potty and leash trained, as well as crate trained but is not a fan. Jax loves to be outside exploring in the backyard, so this is high on his needs list!! Any training requirements will ONLY follow positive fear free training as Jax's previous life included punishment which means quick movements, hands coming toward or down towards him, being picked up, loud noises, scare and makes him nervous. He is also not a fan of car rides and is nervous with brushing, trims and nail care however, with gentleness and building trust, Jax will continue to feel more and more comfortable. IMPORTANT: Jax had his barker removed at a young age, so he doesn’t bark. He does try, but it just makes a raspy sound. So he needs to be watched closely during play time with other dogs, small children, or when he is exploring a new area since he cannot signal for help by barking. Jax's best home & family life requirements include: - Work from home permanently or hybrid schedule, part-time, early retired - Active outdoors, adventurous and quiet lifestyle - Single family residence ownership with secure fenced yard; preferably in a quiet area (city life is not for Jax) - Dog(s) companionship - size, age, activity, energy, matched personality - Older children 12+ who have been raised with dogs, respectful and gentle - Breed specific knowledge and experience (Jax is not for first time dog guardians) If you meet the above requirements, please complete the application as the first step to our process. https://forms.gle/kNJ9vfoLmK8fBdx87 ** Only those who meet all of the above will be considered** Jax is fostered in Des Moines, WA

Beautiful oh so sweet & so very lovely Scrappy, was ready to be euthanized in a death camp of a scary shelter in CA. He had zero public interest & zero rescue interest on social media. An email went out for help & this beautiful boy was on that list. Yes, it appears at the age of 4 he was going to die which is absolutely unacceptable. We rescued this beautiful boy & 2 other sweet baby dolls out of that same kill shelter from that very same kill list all at once. That day was 1 very sad & joyous day all at the same time. Scrappy who is now looking for his very own forever home who will never give up on him again & love him just as his foster mum & we do. After we got Scrappy all his care with his amazing foster mum he will be bought back to WA state from CA where he can’t wait to find his loving forever home. Sweetheart of a little man, how could anyone kill him? His foster mum said he is a spirited little man & such a good boy. Scrappy just wants to be loved. Disturbing to think no one wanted him & he was ready to die. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA kill shelters. Scrappy is a very soft gentle soul, he is so easy his foster mum said considering watt he has endured. He loves everyone he meets & enjoys being cuddled to & given love. That being said, Scrappy is a good eater, he loves to eat & he is making up for lost time. Scrappy’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard. He also enjoys sunning himself in the backyard & also sitting on the couch & looking out the window, he really enjoys taking in the sites. Scrappy has been great with his baths because he started having them with us the moment he was rescued so he is used to them. Scrappy rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & still needs continued work walking on his harness & leash. But has done amazing in his foster home. We are looking for a forever home for Scrappy where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them & there must be another dog or dogs in the home for him to thrive. Scrappy loves other dogs & needs another dog in the home to play with. This is mandatory for his new home. We are also looking for a crate free home for the little man only. He was left in a cage in the shelter until we rescued him. Scrappy is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Scrappy has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & was fostered in CA with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company. It’s mandatory for him to be in a home with playful dogs. Scrappy is roughly just over 4 years old & 19 lbs & is perhaps a dachshund & chihuahua mix, (chiweenie), male, treated for an upper respiratory infection that he came out of the shelter with. He had a dental & polish along with a umbilical hernia repair. Scrappy is, microchipped, heart worm negative, given flea treatment, neutered, up to date on his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Scrappy, with all of his medical care getting him well thank his adoption fee comes close to covering with the possible respiratory infection, neuter, hernia repair, paying his shelter fee to get him out of the shelter, shots, boarding, dental etc. Scrappy has been around cats since being in the rescue & did well with the cat in his foster home but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. Just because he got along fine with the cat in the foster home doesn’t mean he will get along with all cats. We have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Scrappy was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Scrappy’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Scrappy potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Scrappy has been through many traumas in his short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for his care. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Scrappy & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Scrappy who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this spirited little chap. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Scrappy has an adoption fee of $895 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.
