The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Chase Quick Pay via Zelle, PayPal, or cash. Beautiful oh so sweet & so very lovely Scrappy, was ready to be euthanized in a death camp of a scary shelter in CA. He had zero public interest & zero rescue interest on social media. An email went out for help & this beautiful boy was on that list. Yes, it appears at the age of 4 he was going to die which is absolutely unacceptable. We rescued this beautiful boy & 2 other sweet baby dolls out of that same kill shelter from that very same kill list all at once. That day was 1 very sad & joyous day all at the same time. Scrappy who is now looking for his very own forever home who will never give up on him again & love him just as his foster mum & we do. After we got Scrappy all his care with his amazing foster mum he will be bought back to WA state from CA where he can’t wait to find his loving forever home. Sweetheart of a little man, how could anyone kill him? His foster mum said he is a spirited little man & such a good boy. Scrappy just wants to be loved. Disturbing to think no one wanted him & he was ready to die. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA kill shelters. Scrappy is a very soft gentle soul, he is so easy his foster mum said considering watt he has endured. He loves everyone he meets & enjoys being cuddled to & given love. That being said, Scrappy is a good eater, he loves to eat & he is making up for lost time. Scrappy’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard. He also enjoys sunning himself in the backyard & also sitting on the couch & looking out the window, he really enjoys taking in the sites. Scrappy has been great with his baths because he started having them with us the moment he was rescued so he is used to them. Scrappy rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & still needs continued work walking on his harness & leash. But has done amazing in his foster home. We are looking for a forever home for Scrappy where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them & there must be another dog or dogs in the home for him to thrive. Scrappy loves other dogs & needs another dog in the home to play with. This is mandatory for his new home. We are also looking for a crate free home for the little man only. He was left in a cage in the shelter until we rescued him. Scrappy is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Scrappy has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & was fostered in CA with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company. It’s mandatory for him to be in a home with playful dogs. Scrappy is roughly just over 4 years old & 19 lbs & is perhaps a dachshund & chihuahua mix, (chiweenie), male, treated for an upper respiratory infection that he came out of the shelter with. He had a dental & polish along with a umbilical hernia repair. Scrappy is, microchipped, heart worm negative, given flea treatment, neutered, up to date on his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Scrappy, with all of his medical care getting him well thank his adoption fee comes close to covering with the possible respiratory infection, neuter, hernia repair, paying his shelter fee to get him out of the shelter, shots, boarding, dental etc. Scrappy has been around cats since being in the rescue & did well with the cat in his foster home but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. Just because he got along fine with the cat in the foster home doesn’t mean he will get along with all cats. We have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Scrappy was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Scrappy’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Scrappy potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Scrappy has been through many traumas in his short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for his care. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Scrappy & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Scrappy who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this spirited little chap. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Scrappy has an adoption fee of $895 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.

Story
Hello Handsome!! Hudson is looking for his best home and this is what he says. I'm playful, sweet, loving, happy and a perfect size for endless snuggles. Hudson doesn't like to be left alone for many hours. He is potty trained and yes, he may have an accident when starting a new journey but with guidance, patience and consistency, he learns easily. He is a little shy and nervous around strangers at first but warms up quickly. His confidence continues to build knowing he is safe. Hudson has a gentle, sensitive heart -- he loves to be loved!! Hudson is a healthy boy, is a "talker!" A single family residence with a secured fenced yard, no condo, townhome or apartment living. He also prefers a quiet environment and lifestyle. Children 12+ who are respectful and have been with this breed is acceptable. Another small dog similar in age, energy and activity is a must - he has not been cat tested. Longhair dachshunds require grooming maintenance - brushing and trims. Your family must be active, adventurous and include Hudson on family outings. Your family must work from home, work a hybrid home/office schedule, work part time or early retired. Your family must have dachshund breed experience and knowledge. If you meet these requirements, please complete the application - https://forms.gle/kNJ9vfoLmK8fBdx87. Website: https://hearts4doxiesrescue.org

Story
We would like to introduce Kelly, an eight pound girl Dachshund/Chihuahua puppy who is eight months of age. She was saved by a kind man who saw her running near a busy intersection south of Houston-no collar/tag/or microchip. He took her home and his family cared for her for a week until a rescue could be found to help her. Kelly is a happy little puppy who exudes joy, wags her tail, and wants to kiss everyone she meets! This girl is kennel-trained, doing fabulous with housetraining, enjoys baths, loves other dogs, people, & children. We will introduce her to a kitty in a few days, she was just spayed yesterday, 5/9. She has never had puppies and loves LIFE! Kelly is acclimated to car rides and loves them in a safe kennel---she does not get car sick. This girl is very popular amongst her foster friends, and a super favorite with every vet tech who meets her! We await her happy ever after SOON!! Kelly will be able to transport after June 6th and enjoy a super summer with her forever family. Kelly has been examined by our vet, received a series of dhpp, bordetella, canine influenza bivalent, rabies vaccine, and leptospirosis vaccines. She is spayed and microchipped. We give oral heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention as our rescues are bathed frequently. We provide our rescued puppies and dogs the highest quality veterinary care as our own pets. Proper veterinary care is our number one PRIORITY and it shows in the health of our rescued puppies and dogs. My adoption fee is $650 and transportation fee is $350 from Houston, Texas to Seattle, Washington. We use the highest standard transporter in the industry. We have many happy adopters on both West Coast, East Coast, and Canada. We are pleased to provide referrals upon request. Our greatest goal is to properly match a rescued pup with the perfect adopter. We have over twenty years experience in rescuing pets. It is truly our greatest joy.

Story
HE WAS FOUND WITH TWO PUPPIES UNDER A HIGHWAY BRIDGE. UNFORTUNATELY, ONE OF THEM TESTED POSITIVE FOR DISTEMPER AND, BECAUSE THE DISEASE WAS ALREADY VERY ADVANCED, HE DIED A FEW DAYS AFTER STARTING HIS TREATMENT. ELMER AND THE OTHER PUPPY, TITAN, WERE PLACED IN QUARANTINE AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE. HOWEVER, ONE DAY AFTER THE END OF QUARANTINE, TITAN SHOWED DISTEMPOR SYMPTOMS AND, LIKE THE FIRST PUPPY, DIED DESPITE RECEIVING TREATMENT. THIS WAS HOW ELMER BECAME THE ONLY SURVIVOR OF THIS RESCUE. TODAY ELMER IS COMPLETELY HEALTHY AND WITHOUT ANY KIND OF SEQUEL AND IS LOOKING FOR A LOVING FAMILY THAT WILL CONSENT HIM. ELMER IS A FAITHFUL COMPANION WHO LOVES TO BE HUGGED AND Cuddled. HE WILL LOVE TO TAKE WALKS AND WALKS WITH YOU. IT IS PLAYFUL AND FRIENDLY, WHICH MAKES IT IDEAL TO BE WITH CHILDREN AND LITTLE ONES. HE LIKES TO EXPLORE, DISCOVER NEW THINGS, MEET PEOPLE AND ABOVE ALL PLAY. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. The adoption fee does not include transportation. The transportation fee is around $150.
