Story
August is a 3 year old girl who came to the City of Mobile Animal Services late last year. Cyclists reported seeing a dog in the woods in a rural location over the course of a week. Someone had left food and water for her, and she was emaciated and scared. Animal Control Officers investigated and found her peering at them from behind a tree. I'm scared, she barked at them! They laid in the leaves with her, tossing her treats until she moved closer and closer. Soon, she was tentatively eating food from their hands and they were able to slip a leash on her. Today, she has learned that humans are alright again, through working with our staff. August absolutely loves other dogs! She will play and play with any new canine friend, large or small. She loves toys and treats. She would enjoy a home with other confident playmates who can continue to show her the way. August can be fostered or adopted. This is just one of many animals at the City of Mobile Animal Services.
