Story
Flora is a sensitive soul who is looking to find a special home. She is 1.5 years old and we think maybe a lab whippet cross at a perfect 45 lbs – she is tall and sleek. Flora would like to join a home with another dog, and bonus if there are also cats! She is good with all furry creatures – she’s even lived kindly and gently with rabbits. Flora was born to a pregnant mama who was trying to survive near a riverbank living off the visits of kind soul who would bring her food. She spent her first 10 months of life in shelter, so she feels best with other animals. Flora worries about new things and loud noises so would like a quiet patient home who understands she doesn’t always feel safe. She does loves big space, and quiet woodsy walks with her dog friend to help her feel safe. Her ideal would be a quiet rural property with a kind and confident dog bestie. Flora is spayed and vaccinated and is located in Nanaimo. If you think you might be a fit for Flora, please email us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com and tell us a bit about yourself, and we can send along an application.

Story
Clank is a happy, affectionate dog with a gentle and loving personality. He adores people! He enjoys following his people around and is always eager to please and be involved. He is currently recovering from FHO surgery and is doing very well. He still has a few weeks of restricted activity and exercises ahead, but he has been calm, cooperative, and incredibly gentle throughout his recovery. He will need a foster to adopt home until he is cleared by our vet. Clank knows basic cues like come, sit, and down, and his recall is coming along nicely. He is eager to learn and loves attention, though he can still get excited on leash and will benefit from continued positive reinforcement training. He is overall gentle but can be a bit clumsy, so a home with older children would be best. He may do well with another dog, while his compatibility with cats is unknown.Clank does have a playful, mischievous side and enjoys chewing and shredding items if given the opportunity, earning him the affectionate nickname "Wreck-it Ralph." Because of this, a dog-proofed home and attentive supervision will set him up for success. Clank is a sweet, devoted dog who will thrive in a home that can give him attention, patience, and support as he finishes his recovery. Primary Color: Brown Brindle Weight: 36.9 Age: 1yrs 3mths 1wks

Story
Meet Loofah! At just 8 months old, Loofah is a goofy, lovable mixed-breed girl with long legs, a big personality, and an even bigger heart. Like many growing puppies, she's still figuring out how her lanky body works and doesn't always realize just how much space she takes up! Because of her enthusiastic nature and occasional lack of spatial awareness, she'd be best suited to a home with older kids instead of toddlers.Loofah is very interested in other dogs and has the potential to make some wonderful canine friends. She would do well with positive, slow introductions to friendly dog-savvy dogs. Loofah has not yet been tested with cats, so we are unsure how she would react to feline friends. As a young pup, Loofah is still working on her potty training and will need a patient, consistent adopter to help her continue learning. She's eager to please and will thrive with routine, encouragement, and plenty of positive reinforcement.Loofah also prefers not to be left alone for long periods. She would do best with someone who spends most of their time with their canine companion or who is committed to gradually helping her build confidence when home alone by providing a safe, comfortable space to practice.
