Story
Meet Nube who is looking for a home. Nube is a 4.5 year old mixed breed, full grown at a perfect 45 lbs. We think she may be a lab cross, with a gorgeous white coat, and beautiful markings to round out her unique look. She shares space with other dogs and enjoys playtime in the yard with them. Nube is friendly and affectionate with shelter visitors with a lovely disposition. She is medium energy - with enough energy to keep up, but would also be grateful for some chill time to make up for missed cuddles. Mostly she would love her very own family. Nube hasn't been tested extensively with cats. She sees them without reacting, but for now, we will seek a home without cats to be sure. While Nube is lovely with people, she's not been specifically tested with kids. Nube is spayed and vaccinated. She is missing some of her front teeth - likely a result of escaping shackles or surviving on street scraps. If you think you might be a fit for this beauty, as her chance at a forever home, or as a foster along the way, she'd love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com

Story
Sweet Sandy, born February 2025 was already on the street at a young age. A kind rescuer would see her out chasing chickens, hungry and alone, and took her into foster care. Sandy is a mixed breed, whippet x terrier, currently weighing 33 lbs, we estimate she may be 39 lbs full grown. Sandy is living in a foster home with multiple dogs and cats. She is playful with all dogs, and even safe playing with the tiniest of them. Sandy is friendly with people but likes to go slowly when strangers visit to be sure that they are safe to cuddle. Sandy has not been tested with kids. Sandy is house trained, walks well on leash, and has been okay when left alone in her foster home. Sandy is looking for adventure, and would like an active home where she can run and play, and even some enrichment for her big brain. Not only is Sandy beautiful, but also healthy, spayed and vaccinated. Sandy is looking for her very own family and would love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com (Please check your spam for our response in case it has made its way there)

Story
Flora is a sensitive soul who is looking to find a special home. She is 1.5 years old and we think maybe a lab whippet cross at a perfect 45 lbs – she is tall and sleek. Flora would like to join a home with another dog, and bonus if there are also cats! She is good with all furry creatures – she’s even lived kindly and gently with rabbits. Flora was born to a pregnant mama who was trying to survive near a riverbank living off the visits of kind soul who would bring her food. She spent her first 10 months of life in shelter, so she feels best with other animals. Flora worries about new things and loud noises so would like a quiet patient home who understands she doesn’t always feel safe. She does loves big space, and quiet woodsy walks with her dog friend to help her feel safe. Her ideal would be a quiet rural property with a kind and confident dog bestie. Flora is spayed and vaccinated and is located in Nanaimo. If you think you might be a fit for Flora, please email us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com and tell us a bit about yourself, and we can send along an application.

BELLA IS NOT IN CENTRE - PLEASE PUT IN AN APPLICATION IF YOU ARE INTERESTED - WE WILL CALL THE APPROVED APPLICANT. Thanks! Bella comes from a place where she was clearly loved very much - her world was just a little on the small side. Because of that, she's still discovering how big and exciting life can be, and she's doing it with the sweetest little personality. She absolutely adores her humans and is happiest hanging out nearby, soaking up attention, sitting on top of your shoulder and giving gentle affection. Bella is pee pad trained and also happily goes outside to do her business - she's pretty flexible like that! She's also learning that in her new world, sharing is caring. She can sometimes think her person is the best resource ever (honestly, fair), but she's making progress and just needs a family who will continue to help her build confidence and understand that love isn't limited. Bella could live with a dog-savvy cat, but a home without cats would likely be easier while she's still learning. She may also benefit from confident doggy friends who can help show her that the world isn't scary - as long as they won't be pushed out if she briefly makes it a competition for love or toys. Bella will need time to adjust, and introductions to new environments and people should be slow - patience is key. In her foster home, she quickly realized that her foster mom wasn't scary at all, and that a new house and big backyard meant fun things like exploring, sniffing, and relaxing in the sunshine. Bella is a gentle, lovely girl who just wants to be close to her people and continue learning that the world is a safe and happy place. 🐶✨ Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 5.5 Age: 2yrs 0mths 1wks

Story
Bosco is a lovable newcomer who is already winning hearts with his affectionate nature. While he's still settling in and we're getting to know his full personality, one thing is clear-this boy is all about the love! Bosco is eager for attention and enjoys being around people, soaking up every bit of affection he can get.In his previous home, Bosco lived with another dog and a cat, so he may do well with friends. That said, he'd likely be just as happy being the center of attention and having all the love to himself! As Bosco continues to adjust to his new environment, we're excited to learn more about what makes him unique. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 31.5 Age: 6yrs 0mths 1wks

BUBBA IS NOT IN CENTRE - PLEASE PUT IN AN APPLICATION IF YOU ARE INTERESTED - WE WILL CALL THE APPROVED APPLICANT. Thanks!Bubba may have come from a smaller world, but he's making up for it with a big personality. He's full of energy and beans, always ready to move, play, and see what's happening next. He's incredibly sweet with his humans and loves giving unsolicited kisses and being part of whatever you're doing. He's currently working on his house training. He sort of know what a pee pad is, and is very close when he uses it, but he does go outside, but he's still figuring out the routine in a new home and will need consistency as he settles in. Bubba absolutely loves his ball - maybe a little too much! 🎾 It's one of his favourite things and he'd happily play all day if allowed. His new family should be ready to help him find other outlets for his energy as well, like walks, enrichment, and play, so he can learn balance. He could live with a dog-savvy cat, but a home without cats would likely be easier. Bubba can also have doggy friends, and confident dogs may help him learn that the world isn't scary - as long as they won't be pushed out if he occasionally turns things into a competition for love or toys. Bubba will need time to adjust, and slow introductions to new people and environments will help him succeed. Once he settled into his foster home, he quickly discovered that his foster mom was pretty great and that a new house and big backyard were perfect for burning off some of his enthusiastic energy. Bubba is a fun, affectionate guy who's ready to bring a lot of joy - and a lot of playtime - to his forever home. 💙 Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 6.3 Age: 2yrs 0mths 1wks
