Story
Meet Nube who is looking for a home. Nube is a 4.5 year old mixed breed, full grown at a perfect 45 lbs. We think she may be a lab cross, with a gorgeous white coat, and beautiful markings to round out her unique look. She shares space with other dogs and enjoys playtime in the yard with them. Nube is friendly and affectionate with shelter visitors with a lovely disposition. She is medium energy - with enough energy to keep up, but would also be grateful for some chill time to make up for missed cuddles. Mostly she would love her very own family. Nube hasn't been tested extensively with cats. She sees them without reacting, but for now, we will seek a home without cats to be sure. While Nube is lovely with people, she's not been specifically tested with kids. Nube is spayed and vaccinated. She is missing some of her front teeth - likely a result of escaping shackles or surviving on street scraps. If you think you might be a fit for this beauty, as her chance at a forever home, or as a foster along the way, she'd love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com

Story
Sweet Sandy, born February 2025 was already on the street at a young age. A kind rescuer would see her out chasing chickens, hungry and alone, and took her into foster care. Sandy is a mixed breed, whippet x terrier, currently weighing 33 lbs, we estimate she may be 39 lbs full grown. Sandy is living in a foster home with multiple dogs and cats. She is playful with all dogs, and even safe playing with the tiniest of them. Sandy is friendly with people but likes to go slowly when strangers visit to be sure that they are safe to cuddle. Sandy has not been tested with kids. Sandy is house trained, walks well on leash, and has been okay when left alone in her foster home. Sandy is looking for adventure, and would like an active home where she can run and play, and even some enrichment for her big brain. Not only is Sandy beautiful, but also healthy, spayed and vaccinated. Sandy is looking for her very own family and would love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com (Please check your spam for our response in case it has made its way there)

Story
Rootin' tootin' Rudy came into this world with big paws, bigger feelings, and a whole lot of yeehaw energy. At 7 months old, this Border Collie / Aussie / Great Pyrenees mix is still learning how to steer his growing body and his even-growing-er enthusiasm. The world can feel loud and busy sometimes, but Rudy is taking it in stride and trying his very best. He's a bit of a bucking bronco when excitement hits and is working hard on four on the floor, polite doorways, and general good-mannered cowboy behavior. Rudy forgets how big he is more often than not, but his intentions are pure. Toys are his prized possessions, treats are powerful motivation, and being told he's a good boy might be his favorite thing of all.Rudy prefers slow introductions to dog friends and would love to be the star of the show in his home. Because of his size, sensitivity, and enthusiasm, he's looking for a no-kids home with someone patient, consistent, and ready to guide a young working-breed mix through his big puppy phase. With structure, praise, and a sense of humor, Rootin' Tootin' Rudy is going to grow into a loyal, affectionate partner - the kind of dog who tries hard, loves harder, and just needs someone to ride alongside him while he figures it all out. 🤠🐾 Primary Color: Tri Color Secondary Color: White Weight: 33.1 Age: 0yrs 8mths 1wks

Story
Patricio is the absolute perfect love bug. He has a sweet gentle disposition – he is lovely with everyone he meets. He has a joyful spring in his step when he sees people, and he also happily finds joy in any toy that might come his way, finding his own happiness in the little things. He likes to gather shelter toys and put them near his bed, revelling in the joy of having anything good come his way. Patricio is about 4 years old. He is good with dogs and cats, and walks nicely on leash (including past cows, chickens, bikes and trucks). Patricio is a lovely and compact 38 lbs. His quiet happiness also means he’s not much of a barker – rather he watches the world happily waiting for his next chance at affection. He likes to crawl into your soul for cuddles. Patricio is a distemper survivor who has a slight tic in his jaw as a result. This brave boy not only survived distemper, but hasn’t let that impact his happiness. Whoever gets this little man is very lucky. Patricio is medium energy – happy to accompany you whenever and wherever. Check him out here: https://www.instagram.com/pvcaanimalrescue/reel/DRTWFowkZ0P/ If you think you might be his chance at a family, or foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Story
Born August 2025, currently weighing 15lbs, we expect her to be a medium sized dog with a stocky body and shorter legs. Nani and her siblings had a very hard start in life. They were born on a rural property largely uncared for until a worried neighbour went to check on them to bring them food. She found that they suffered from significant wounds on their back from the fencing which was badly infected. The neighbour took all the dogs home to care for them and had them spayed / neutered. They are now under the care of the SPCA PV jointly with the foster, and have received all of their vaccines as they prepare for happier lives. She will have some permanent scarring on her back, and lost part of her tail due to the injuries. Nani is looking for a quiet home to slowly expose her to a kinder, gentler world. If you think you might be a fit for this young girl either as her forever home, or a foster refuge along the way, reach out to us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com

Needs special attention, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Loch, the "LOCHness monster of LOVE!" He is a stunning brindle boy with a heart as big as his beautiful coat. Social, friendly, and always happy to make new canine friends, he brings an easygoing charm wherever he goes. This sweet guy has been through TWO TPLO knee surgeries, and while he's handled them with resilience, his body hasn't bounced back the way we hoped. He'll need ongoing care and future support for his knees, including removal of the hardware, so he's looking for a dedicated family ready to love him through it all ♥Loch's personality is a delightful mix of cuddly companion and goofy mischief-maker. He adores snuggling up with his people, but don't let that soft side fool you-he is a certified destroyer of plush toys and will absolutely swallow them if given the chance. (Hard toys only for this boy!) Loch gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has lived with kids and cats (though he does enjoy a good game of "chase the kitty" if allowed!).Currently in foster care, Loch could move into a foster-to-adopt home if his new person or family is ready to help him finish his recovery.📍 Please note: Loch is not viewable at the shelter. If you'd like to meet him, please fill out an adoption application. Only approved applicants will be contacted for a meet and greet. Primary Color: Brown Brindle Secondary Color: Black Weight: 38.5 Age: 1yrs 7mths 3wks
