Story
Flora is a sensitive soul who is looking to find a special home. She is 1.5 years old and we think maybe a lab whippet cross at a perfect 45 lbs – she is tall and sleek. Flora would like to join a home with another dog, and bonus if there are also cats! She is good with all furry creatures – she’s even lived kindly and gently with rabbits. Flora was born to a pregnant mama who was trying to survive near a riverbank living off the visits of kind soul who would bring her food. She spent her first 10 months of life in shelter, so she feels best with other animals. Flora worries about new things and loud noises so would like a quiet patient home who understands she doesn’t always feel safe. She does loves big space, and quiet woodsy walks with her dog friend to help her feel safe. Her ideal would be a quiet rural property with a kind and confident dog bestie. Flora is spayed and vaccinated and is located in Nanaimo. If you think you might be a fit for Flora, please email us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com and tell us a bit about yourself, and we can send along an application.

Story
Meet Nuba who is looking for a home. Nuba is a 4.5 year old mixed breed, full grown at a perfect 45 lbs. We think she may be a lab cross, with a gorgeous white coat, and beautiful markings to round out her unique look. She shares space with other dogs and enjoys playtime in the yard with them. Nuba is friendly and affectionate with shelter visitors with a lovely disposition. She is medium energy - with enough energy to keep up, but would also be grateful for some chill time to make up for missed cuddles. Mostly she would love her very own family. Nuba hasn't been tested extensively with cats. She sees them without reacting, but for now, we will seek a home without cats to be sure. While Nuba is lovely with people, she's not been specifically tested with kids. Nuba is spayed and vaccinated. She is missing some of her front teeth - likely a result of escaping shackles or surviving on street scraps. If you think you might be a fit for this beauty, as her chance at a forever home, or as a foster along the way, she'd love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com

Story
Meet Walter, an Olde English Bulldog with a big personality and an even bigger love for his people. He's the kind of dog who wants to be right in the middle of whatever is going on, whether that's playtime with toys or hanging out with his humans. Walter has a playful, social nature and truly thrives on attention and interaction, but he's just as happy winding down at the end of the day curled up on the couch-or even better, snuggled under the covers with you.Walter does well around other dogs and can enjoy their company, but when it comes to his home life, he'd much prefer to be the king of his castle. He's looking for a home where he can soak up all the love and attention, while still having opportunities to make dog friends outside the home for playdates and social time.Like many bulldogs, Walter comes with a few extra care needs that his future family should be prepared for. He has allergies and is currently on a special veterinarian-prescribed diet to help keep his skin comfortable and healthy. There is a possibility he may need daily medication lifelong to manage these allergies, although that is still being determined. He also has those classic bulldog wrinkles, which need to be cleaned regularly to prevent irritation or infection. In addition, Walter will be undergoing surgery to help open up his nasal passages, which should greatly improve his breathing and overall comfort.Walter is a wonderful mix of playful energy and affectionate companionship. He's looking for a home that understands his needs and is ready to give him both the care and the love he deserves. In return, he'll be a loyal, entertaining, and deeply devoted companion who will happily be by your side through it all. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Grey Weight: 25 Age: 1yrs 4mths 0wks

BUBBA IS NOT IN CENTRE - PLEASE PUT IN AN APPLICATION IF YOU ARE INTERESTED - WE WILL CALL THE APPROVED APPLICANT. Thanks!Bubba may have come from a smaller world, but he's making up for it with a big personality. He's full of energy and beans, always ready to move, play, and see what's happening next. He's incredibly sweet with his humans and loves giving unsolicited kisses and being part of whatever you're doing. He's currently working on his house training. He's still figuring out the routine in a new home and will need consistency as he settles in. Bubba absolutely loves his ball - maybe a little too much! 🎾 It's one of his favorite things and he'd happily play all day if allowed. His new family should be ready to help him find other outlets for his energy as well, like walks, enrichment, and play, so he can learn balance. Bubba will need time to adjust, and slow introductions to new people and environments will help him succeed. Once he settled into his foster home, he quickly discovered that his foster mom was pretty great and that a new house and big backyard were perfect for burning off some of his enthusiastic energy. Bubba is a fun, affectionate guy who's ready to bring a lot of joy - and a lot of playtime - to his forever home. 💙 Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 5.7 Age: 2yrs 0mths 4wks

Ducky thrives on attention, encouragement, and being part of the action. He's happiest when he's learning, playing, and sharing his big heart with those he loves. This strong, lovable guy is looking for a dog-savvy human who will continue guiding him with positive reinforcement training methods as he grows into his very best self. He's already doing an amazing job learning his basics! With guidance and consistency, Ducky absolutely shines! He wants to do well and make his people proud.Ducky also enjoys the company of other dogs and can be quite the social butterfly, though his play style is enthusiastic and full of that signature "big puppy" energy. Because of his size and zest for life, he'll do best in a home without small animals, where he has the space and understanding to truly thrive. If you're looking for a big, goofy, affectionate best friend who will keep you laughing, keep you active, and love you with his whole entire heart, Ducky is more than ready to be your boy. 💛 Put in an application today to see if you could be his match! Story
Coco and her siblings were lucky - their pregnant mum wandered onto a property on the outskirts of Puerto Vallarta, where she captured the heart of a local rescuer. Coco is two years old, weighs 19lbs and is currently in foster in Nanaimo, BC. She is a timid girl who needs to go very slow with people and likes to take her time to assess if it’s safe from a distance. She spent her early life with limited exposure to the world, so she’d like a quiet non-urban home. Coco has lived with dogs and cats and goes slowly meeting new dogs but eventually enjoys playing. Coco will want the comfort of another dog in the home to help her feel happy and safe and would also love a yard. Coco is housetrained, healthy and vaccinated. Coco is gentle but would prefer a home without kids – they sure move fast and with a lot of noise! If you’d like to apply, please email us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com and let us know a bit about how this might be a match.
