Story
Oh hey there! My name is Nate, or as my closest friends like to call me, Nate Dogg or Nathan :) I'm a BIG boy with beautiful amber eyes that seem to captivate anyone who has the pleasure of being in my inner circle. Although I'm young, handsome, and smart as a whip, I'm happiest when snuggling up on a big ol' couch and getting pets from my human companions. When I'm not resting from all the hard work of eating snacks, walking in the forest, and getting belly rubs, I like to show off my zoomies in the yard carrying around my favourite stuffy. The home I'm looking for is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, as city-life is not really my thing. Also, I'd like to be your one and only animal so I can be fully (and rightfully) spoiled. I have made some doggy friends in shelter, but I'm quite picky on those I associate with. Walking past other dogs is my weakness, so I need a strong and experienced paw-rent who can help me navigate these interactions and teach me that barking and lunging at others is not the best way to greet other dogs. I learn best through positive reinforcement training and would love to continue this training into my new home! I can't wait! Some other great things about me are that I take treats SUPER gently, I know 'sit' and 'shake a paw' no problem, and puzzle toys make me extra excited. I'm a smart boy so I need to have my brain stimulated too!Long and short, if you are looking for a single animal companion to keep you warm at night, I am the guy for you! I am ready and more than willing to be your sidekick on the couch and to curl up beside you. Bonus points if you have a fireplace too...The first step to take me home and meet me is to fill out the application below!https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-cowichan/ Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 42.7 Age: 3yrs 1mths 2wks

Story
Meet Pippa! Pippa is very social and knows basic commands. She loves all people and will want to say hi to everyone. Pippa looooves belly rubs and will flop over to get some every time. Pippa is not suitable to live with livestock or cats as she does have some prey drive typical to her breed. While she sometimes can make dog friends, she may be best being the only dog in the home. If your heart reaches out to sweet Pippa and you are looking for a hiking buddy and an all around great companion then Pippa may be the right fit for you! She loves to hang out and take naps on the couch or if she gets too warn then on the nice cold floor. Pippa can be left home alone during the work day. She would rather of course go with you but she can be left alone. She loves to get her doggie ice cream (frozen Kong) to keep her busy. Story
Meet Simon! This affectionate, energetic, love bug is waiting for his forever home! Simon is looking for an active family who are willing to work on some training with him. He absolutely loves getting out for walks and adventures, but does need to learn some basic leash manners and recall. Simon is very food motivated and eager to learn, he's been working on 'sit' and 'lie down', and would thrive in an environment where he can keep his brain active! This love bug absolutely adores cuddles and gets really excited when he gets to see his human friends. He also shows interest in meeting other dogs, so would likely be okay in a home with a canine companion, after slow and cautious introductions. Simon would make an exceptional companion and would fit right in with a busy household where he can tag along on adventures! PLEASE NOTE: This dog is located on the Sunshine Coast and travel via BC Ferries is required to adopt. Appointments are preferred to adopt one of our animals.
