He's still working on his potty training and basic manners, so he'll need a patient home willing to guide him with positive reinforcement and consistency. Dog savvy adults with breed experience will be beneficial for Kovu! A fully fenced yard is essential-he's an active dog who needs space to run and explore safely!Kovu has a strong bond with Maya, and they're often found playing or hanging out side by side. He'd thrive in a home that can offer time, structure, and companionship-bonus points if it's with Maya, too. ♥ Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 24.6 Age: 2yrs 8mths 3wks

Story
Beautiful husky girl Chiquita, born April 2023, is looking for a home. She is approximately 41 lbs. Her mum and littermates were often seen wandering in the area of the SPCA PV sanctuary and staff and volunteers saw them in deteriorating condition due to a diet heavy on garbage and took them in to give them the care they needed. After she got refuge in the sanctuary, she lived through a hurricane which heavily damaged the shelter, and she had temporary refuge in a home that unfortunately had a landlord that didn't allow dogs.. but in that time, she learned what a home is and what it is meant to be loved. Chiquita is an energetic girl so she’d love a yard with some space to burn off some zoomies but was in a foster home in an apartment. She loves the beach. Her foster mom just loved her, described her as a fast learner, and a great cuddler. She has learned basic commands - sit, come, waits to eat her food. She isn't destructive in the home and did well in the car. She is selective with other dogs, and can be reactive, and would squabble with her siblings. Kids make her nervous so she'd prefer a quiet adult home where she can learn more about the world. Chiquita would be best in a home without cats as she shows high prey drive. Video of Chiquita with her shelter friends: https://www.facebook.com/spcapv/videos/1401202434079126 She is now healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her happy home, please contact us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com for more information. Chiquita is currently in Mexico but can fly to a Canadian home near you! They suspect she may have been used for breeding and was subjected to having her tail docked. When they no longer wanted her they just left her to fend for herself. Yesenia reads people well and likes to be comforted by them. Yesenia prefers male dogs and isn’t a fan of cats. She is spayed and vaccinated, weighing a perfect 45 lbs. Maya is a beautiful female Husky with an observant nature. She's still getting used to the good life, she is working on her potty training and household manners. She does best with a consistent routine and positive reinforcement to help her gain confidence and adjust. Maya needs a fully fenced yard where she can move freely and burn off energy! Dog savvy adults with breed experience will be beneficial for Maya! She and Kovu are a great team-they play well together and provide each other comfort.
