Story
Petite! Loving! Silly! Makes friends easily! Willa is a close snuggling, squeaker-loving, super friendly three-legged husky girl. She came to us after a car accident, but now she's all healed up from her leg amputation and back in action. Now Willa is free to frolic and play! She loves being outdoors and seems to enjoy having a dog pal in her foster home. A well-fenced yard and active family with lots of time to spend with her would be nice, too! Willa doesn't seem to have lived with cats before and thinks they are really fun to chase when they move fast, so she isn't being left unsupervised with the resident cats in her foster home. This sweet girl has a luxurious, thick coat, and she doesn't mind going out in the rain! We took her to an adoption event indoors with live music and Willa was a perfect angel, happily meeting strangers all evening and trying to befriend all the other dogs who attended. Willa is quite skillful on three legs and can climb stairs and even hopped up onto the table for a better view out the window (major husky vibes)! Willa is understandably a little hesitant around busy roads with fast cars or loud noises after her car accident experience, but we're starting to see her relax and trust now that she is no longer in pain. Willa will need to remain fit and trim to make sure she stays as mobile as possible on three legs. We ask that all WCAL puppy adopters commit to attending a reward-based training class with their new puppy (we'll help you find a qualified, dog-friendly trainer near you). This is the best way we know how to help you bond with your new pup, give you access to current training techniques and ensure that your new dog becomes a well-rounded member of society. We believe in being proactive and know from experience that the best time to train a dog is NOW! It's important to us that all the dogs we rescue get the very best start with you. If you don't have time to attend training classes, please consider choosing an adult dog or waiting to adopt until your schedule is more flexible. Follow us on social media for daily updates! Story
*Ready 4/26* Patti is a spunky, playful and silly puppy with a fluffy white coat and great markings. This little lady has a big personality. She can keep you laughing with her puppy games and playful attitude. Patti has a big voice for a little puppy and she loves attention. A friendly, loving puppy, Pappy is happy to engage with her humans and bunny hop around the yard with toys. Patti was being given away in a parking lot with her siblings when a WCAL volunteer spotted them. Now these pups are growing up in a foster home and we've arranged to have their mama spayed so she won't have any more accidental litters. We're told they are a husky mix, but we haven't seen either of their parents. Cute, friendly, and attention seeking, these puppies are eating and growing and learning quickly. Puppies this age eat three meals a day and cannot be left alone for more than a few hours at a time so it's important to have a plan in place before adopting youngsters like these. They will do best in a home with people who can either work from home or bring a pup to work so that they can continue working on potty training and learning all the social skills they need to succeed. It's important to us that all the dogs we rescue get the very best start. If you don't have time to attend training classes with a puppy and aren't able to spend lots of time with them, please consider choosing an adult dog or waiting to adopt until your schedule is more flexible. We have no information about either of their parents or their breed mix. Before applying to adopt, please verify that this pup will be welcomed by your landlord and homeowners insurance, regardless of breed. Follow us on social media for daily updates!
