Story
Meet HIROMI HIROMI was turned into the shelter as a found dog. No one ever came for her. Despite being failed by her former person, this sweetheart remains devoted and loving. After Hiromi’s arrival she was initially timid and lacked confidence. She can still be somewhat apprehensive but she has opened up and trusted us enough to let her true colors shine! She is silly, sensitive, refreshingly affectionate, playful and a free spirit. Her absolute favorite past time is to be showered with love and give it in return. Her gentle, resilient nature is inspiring but not surprising. Hiromi is very communicative by expressing a multitude of emotions with her eyes. Her body language is inviting and she understands how to use it to subtly let you know what’s on her mind. She is also an Akita so stubbornness is part of her DNA! Her ideal adopter should have a calm home environment and be able to provide consistency and a daily routine, where she can continue to expand her horizons. Hiromi gets excited for her daily walks and is a great traveler! She seems non-reactive to other dogs and might do well with a mellow male dog. She is approx 4 yrs old and weighs 57 lbs. She is also crate and house trained. She is ready to pledge her love and devotion! Are you?! Story
Meet Emi Emi’s sleek, brindle coat is a thing of beauty and so magnificent to behold. Engaging, charismatic, gregarious, and spirited are the first things you sense about her from the moment she enters a room. Emi exudes a brand of joy that makes her impossible to resist! Not until you witness her graceful elegance and see a bit of frost around her muzzle, do you realize she is a senior beauty with an abundance of life experiences to share. She’s 8 yrs old and has found herself homeless, but she’s seen enough in life to know there’s still a wonderous journey ahead. She is a lover of people and she’d much rather be enjoying a fun adventure with you by her side on interesting walks or trips to the beach, than be left at home alone. She needs to be an only dog and is not suitable with cats. She is approximately 60 lbs. and seems unaware she has some arthritis and hip dysplasia. But as you can see, she enjoys playing with her toys and doing tricks for treats. Her healthy curiosity keeps her engaged in life’s adventures, though she also loves her beauty naps. Please don’t let her age deter you from considering giving her a home. Her heart is overflowing with love. If you are interested in Emi, please complete our adoption application in the link below. Story
Meet Capri — a Hidden Gem Ready to Bloom Capri is a 4-year-old German Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix with a heart as soft as her gentle gaze. Weighing in at 55 pounds, she’s a sensitive soul who’s slowly learning the world isn’t such a scary place after all. What she needs now is a calm, patient adopter who can help her continue that journey with kindness and consistency. Once she feels safe, Capri walks beautifully on leash, enjoys gentle pets, and lights up for treats — she already knows how to sit! While the noisy shelter has been overwhelming for her, outside the kennel she reveals her affectionate, soulful nature. Capri will thrive in a quiet, stable home without young children. A confident dog sibling could help her gain confidence, and someone with experience working with shy or fearful dogs would be a huge plus. She doesn’t need grand adventures — just a soft voice, a steady hand, and someone who sees the magic in the small wins. If you believe the most beautiful connections take time to grow, Capri is waiting to meet you.
