Story
TJ is almost 2 years old, about 60 pounds, and has been waiting far too long for his forever family. He is blind, though he can see some shadows, and he navigates the world with an incredible amount of confidence, trust, and joy. Once he gets familiar with his surroundings, he does amazingly well. The best thing about TJ? He is just pure love. He is affectionate, goofy, gentle, and deeply people-oriented. He loves attention, loves being close, and has the kind of happy, grateful personality that makes everyone who meets him fall a little bit in love. TJ is also wonderful with other dogs. He enjoys dog friends, is social, and has a playful, silly side that is incredibly endearing. He is one of those dogs who reminds you every day how resilient and joyful dogs can be. Because TJ is blind, he will do best in a home that can give him a little patience and consistency as he learns the layout and routine. He does not need pity — he just needs someone kind enough to give him a chance. TJ is well-adjusted, loving, and so ready to settle into a real home of his own. After 265 days at the rescue, TJ is more than ready for his happy ending. He has so much love to give and will make an incredibly loyal, affectionate, and rewarding companion for the lucky person or family who chooses him.

Border Terrier

Sonoma, CA
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Rango is a young terrier–Border Collie mix with a gentle soul and a quietly hopeful heart. When he first arrived at the rescue, he was very frightened and shut down, unsure of the world around him. But day by day, Rango is beginning to come out of his shell and learn that people can be kind. He’s still quite timid around humans and prefers to take things slow—but what’s special about Rango is his curiosity. Even when he’s unsure, he’ll bravely come up to sniff, observe, and check things out on his own terms. Trust is blooming, one small step at a time. Where Rango truly shines is with other dogs. He loves playing, running, and taking cues from his canine friends, and we think he would thrive in a home with one or more confident dogs to help show him the ropes. His Border Collie–terrier mix gives him a playful, active side that really comes alive during doggy playtime. Rango is neutered and up to date on all vaccines. He’s looking for a patient, loving home that understands shy dogs and will celebrate the quiet wins—because with time, consistency, and canine companionship, this sweet boy has so much love to give. 💛
