Story
I adopted Calla Lilly from a rescue about 5 years ago. Her owner had died. She is a senior but has all the energy of a puppy. She is very loving and likes kissing and sitting on your lap. Currently she lives with a very old maltese. She is a great watchdog and will especially protect you from squirrels. She is only 7 lbs, but thinks she is a Great Dane. That’s the problem. I am marrying a man who has a German Shepherd mix, and Calla thinks she needs to protect me from him. We are concerned that Calla could be injured if they find an opportunity to fight or if the German Shepherd accidentally hurts her while trying to play. The maltese will not provoke the German Shepherd and is much bigger. She would probably do well in a family with children who would run and play with her.

Story
Klondike is a 4 year old, 90 lb, all-white German Shepherd who has so much love to give. He is an absolute angel, walks great on leash, takes treats gently, and is wonderful with dogs and small kids. He knows basic commands like sit, stay, down, and has great recall. He is so friendly, greeting everyone with a big smile. He reserves his biggest tail wags for his people, who he loves with all his heart. He loves pets, cuddles, head scratches, and belly rubs. Although he is a big love bug, please no cats for him. He is a low-to-medium energy dog who is very content sleeping on his bed most of the day, but loves when it’s time for walks and fetch with his ball. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on preventatives. Klondike is a velcro dog with some separation anxiety who loves to be with his people/person. He would do best with a family where someone is home all day (either WFH or retiree) or someone who wants to take their furry friend with them everywhere!

Story
Mazikeen is such a sweet girl once she warms up to you. She will be your favorite cuddle buddy. She loves going for long walks, dinner time and her daily chewy snacks. Maz could use some training to reach her full potential. Due to her young age, she is still moldable and eager to learn. I never had any intention of rehoming my baby, but recent female-female tension with my other Rottie had led me to this road. I am hoping she finds a home where she is loved just as much as she is in my home. Please reach out if your intentions are good for this sweet soul!!

Holstein

English Bulldog

Male, Young
Crockett, CA
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Not good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
This is Holstein, he is a (roughly) 3 year old male English Bulldog. We adopted him about 5 months ago, he is healthy and has lots of energy and a healthy appetite. Unfortunately, he goes after our submissive elderly male English bulldog but does fine with our female and alpha male in the house (all English bulldog"s). Despite training and professional guidance he remains too aggressive toward our submissive male. That being said, we are looking to rehome this special guy. He loves playtime and snacks, daily walks and couch time. Holstein loves to snuggle and will fall asleep on your lap. He is potty drained (however we have a doggy door so it was easy to train him.) He is in great health and up to date on all vaccinations. Mild ear infection when adopted easily treated with medication. He will do best in a home without dogs (or dogs that are not submissive. Unknown with cats. Reach out if you are interested. All proceeds will go to local shelter. Crockett, California.

NOTE:Submit the adoption interest application directly at our HSNB website:https://www.hsnb.org/dog-adoption-applicationWe may not receive anything submitted through PetFinder or Adopt-A-Pet! If you do not receive confirmation from us, email adoptions@hsnb.org . -----Hi! I'm Barkley and I didn't come into the shelter looking this sleek and handsome (I was handsome - just not THIS handsome). I went straight into foster so I could get some 'meat on my bones' which is exactly what happened. I am now a healthy 61 pounds, love dogs and humans, and was potty trained within 2 days (I use the dog door like a champ!).I am very food motivated (I was actually starving prior to rescue) and guard my food a bit- I'm getting better after only 3 weeks. I play really great with the other 2 dogs in the house and share toys without issue. I am learning not to jump on everyone when I meet them (I am just so darn excited to meet you!). I have met small dogs too without issue. I did almost take out foster moms knee with my hard head when running into the house (I didn't see her...sorry and she's fine by the way) so a house with older kids if you have any would be better for everyone. I have a bit of separation anxiety and am learning that the humans do return - so I will settle down after making a little ruckus. I need someone who understands I am strong and still need ongoing training support but I am a super awesome doggo - won't you let me show you?https://youtube.com/shorts/CAP7FkzpX8EBarkley's adoption fee is $250 . Primary Color: Brown Brindle Weight: 61.6 Age: 3yrs 6mths 3wks

If you do not receive confirmation from us, email adoptions@hsnb.org.-----Introducing...ZIA - a sugary sweet Shepherd mix who just wants to be held and snuggled, while she exposes her belly to you, after she hugs you! 💖 ZIA will look into your soul...and you won't be able to resist her gaze.According to a longtime HSNB volunteer who has spent time with this sweet girl, "ZIA gives the best hugs; she leaned into every human we passed like she's known them and loved them forever. Walking her is smooth and relaxed, no pulling, just calm, quiet stepping..."ZIA is still settling in and seems a little shy around other dogs, which isn't surprising given she appears to have recently had a litter and may still be feeling fragile. With people, though, ZIA has exhibited nothing but trust so far. She'll roll onto her back, fully exposed, and happily sit right next to you and receive pets. Bonus details: nice teeth, soft eyes, and a gentle presence. And if all this delightfulness isn't enough... she's potty-trained, too! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 51.5 Age: 2yrs 1mths 1wks
