Story
This is Xander! He's a beautiful tan and black Australian Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix. He's about 1.5 years-of-age and has a strong healthy body weighing about 55 pounds. Xander has been in foster with a wonderful dog trainer for quite a few months. He's now a charming, well-mannered and very well-behaved dog. He's got great recall, knows a ton of basic commands, does wonderfully off-leash, and his trainer has taught him loads of other useful commands. And, at such a young age, Xander still has tons of potential to become a great family pet, hiking companion, and/or travel buddy. If you think you might be interested in the perfect dog, please complete our adoption application at hsnb.org/adoptions. Xander's $200 adoption fee means he'll come neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Black Weight: 65 Age: 1yrs 10mths 2wks

Story
Greetings, Simon here. I'm a happy, playful, fun-loving, 4+-year-old dog waiting for an active person/family to come visit me & see how much joy & happiness I can bring into your lives. I get along with other dogs. I'm a good boy and love playing with toys and going on walks, but at 54 pounds I definitely need a steady handler. I just get so excited and love to explore and may pull on the leash. The wonderful volunteers are working w/me on my leash pulling and manners. I'm ready for a safe and loving home. I know if you meet me, you will love me. If you come soon, I can go Trick or Treat with you. I promise to not eat all the candy. Simon says, please visit www.hsnb.org/dog-adoption-application and fill out the form, My $150 adoption fee means I will come to your home neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all my shots. Feast your eyes on your new best friend. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 46 Age: 5yrs 7mths 2wks

Story
Good day, I'm Yami, known for my handsome good looks and smoldering baby blues. What makes me stand out is I perform a "happy" bouncy dance for the volunteer walkers before they take me out for a walk and to play. It works because they are always happy after my dance. It's magical.Like most huskies, I'm smart, friendly, but shy, good disposition, and affectionate. I enjoy snuggling, pets, kisses, going on walks, playing with toys and snacks. I walk well on a leash and know basic commands like sit, down, wait, and heel, but I'm sure with love, structure and guidance I can learn alot more. The volunteers have been working with me on my manner and I have improved a great deal. I'm compatible with other dogs, but am dog selective. If you have a dog, you can bring it to visit me to see if we can be friends. I'm afraid I'm not a fan of cats or other small animals. I'm compatible with well-behaved older kids and would thrive with an active, loving family that has the time to provide me with both physical and mental stimulation. I know I can bring joy and happiness to your family. Please come see for yourself. I'll do my "happy" dance for you.My adoption fee of $150 means I'll come to you neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. Please visit www.hsnb.org to fill out an adoption interest application and set-up a date. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 73.375 Age: 5yrs 8mths 0wks

Story
Meet SKY! This tall, fluffy cuddle-bug has an adorable quirky smile. He's full of personality and love to spare. Sky would adore the luxuries of the indoors and to share the cozy warmth of your home with you. At 4 years old, he's the perfect age to have a little spunk, curiosity, and enjoy new adventures. Sky is also quite a smart boy and he's treat-motivated, but because of his shorter jaw, it may seem as though he's gobbling treats from your hand. I can assure you that he's actually quite gentle when he takes food and treats, and he absolutely LOVES to learn new things! He loves going for walks and meeting new people as well. The volunteers at HSNB absolutely adore this character! His friendly demeanor and happy-go-lucky attitude make him a great companion. To meet Sky, please complete an adoption application at https://www.hsnb.org/dog-adoption-application. His adoption fee covers his neuter, microchip, and all vaccines, including rabies. The Sky's the limit with this adorable guy by your side! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Cream Weight: 52 Age: 5yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
Well, hello! I'm Bobby! I'm an approximately 2-year-old Retriever Shepherd mix. The humans here tell me I have beautiful, loving eyes and am quite the looker! I just know...I love hanging out with people, would love to play with another doggo pal and my favorite thing is playing fetch or chasing after a ball! I would make a really good & loyal family companion. I try to have good doggie leash manners but I'm a strong boy so I need an equally strong, confident handler in case I see something fun to chase-like a squirrel! I would love for you to come meet me! And if you already have another dog, bring them to meet me to see if we will get along. Please visit hsnb.org to fill out an adoption interest application to set up a visit. My $250 adoption fee means I'll come to your house neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on my vaccinations. Hope to see you soon! Story
Meet Chance! He is a 4-year-old German Shepherd mix who came to the shelter as a stray in an extremely emaciated condition. Boy, how he has bounced back!Chance is a very smart dog! He walks well on a leash and knows basic commands (sit, down, shake) and he waits upon command at a street or driveway for crossing. He enjoys playing fetch (even catches the ball in mid-air!) and returns and drops the ball to you. He recently really enjoyed playing fetch with two of the volunteers' 7-year-old son. Chance enjoys walks and time in the play yard. He also rides nicely in a car. Chance has also been enjoying parallel walks with other doggie pals here at the shelter.Chance is not a fan of the stressful kennel environment and can be super bark-y when *inside* his kennel. Still, here are some quotes from the dog-walker volunteers at HSNB on their experiences with this great dog:"Chance has truly come a long way since coming to HSNB. He has filled out with some healthy weight. Definitely less fearful in general. Great with kids, very smart, knows some basic commands, and loves to play fetch. ""Chance has exhibited so much progress in such a short time. When I first met him, I could barely harness him. Now I put a harness on him with ease. He's walking better on leash, and it is so gratifying to see his health improve as he gains weight. Chance is a testament to the wonderful care the staff & volunteers provide. He renews my faith in what we all do as animal rescuers."Ready to meet this amazing boy? Please visit hsnb.org/dog-adoption-application/ to fill out an adoption interest application and make a date!
