If you do not receive confirmation from us, email adoptions@hsnb.org . -----Meet General 🖤🐾 - a special needs Doberman looking for a very special home.General came to us as a stray. Although he was microchipped, his original owner could not be located - but it's clear he was once deeply loved and well cared for.His current foster home says he is the best dog - active, happy, and wonderful with other dogs. He loves to play, enjoys companionship, and has a joyful, affectionate spirit that makes him such a pleasure to be around. General is the ultimate calm companion. He's super chill, quiet, and patient-even in his kennel. On walks or in the play yard, he takes life at his own easy pace, happily following you or leaning into you for a little quiet company on the AstroTurf.Curious but relaxed, General would love to be by your side, soaking up attention and enjoying a tasty treat or two. This hidden gem is snack-motivated, friendly, and the perfect calm buddy for someone looking for quiet companionship and loyalty. He's currently in foster in Reno with 2 other Dobermans, a male and a female. He's polite, gentle, and respectful of his foster siblings. He's also crate-trained, potty-trained, and walks beautifully on-leash.General does have a few medical considerations, all very manageable with the right family:Von Willebrand's disease - a clotting condition that simply means precautions should be taken for surgery or trauma. It does not affect his happy day-to-day life.Hypothyroidism - easily controlled with inexpensive lifelong medication.A mild neurological condition affecting his back legs. It has been slowly progressive, and a neurologist consult is recommended. He will likely benefit from ongoing physical therapy to help keep him strong and comfortable.General is thriving in foster care and living a full, active life. He just needs a committed home that sees his needs not as obstacles, but as part of what makes him special. Loving a dog like General is incredibly rewarding - the bond you build through that extra layer of care is something truly meaningful and lasting. 💙 Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 81 Age: 5yrs 5mths 3wks
