Story
Nikki and Koda ended up in a shelter in SoCal after their owner passed away. They had lived on a piece of land in Temecula with other dogs of all sizes, cats, chickens, pigs ducks and goats. Nikki had been with her owner since she was a puppy and was described as the mama dog on the property and the animals would all go to her. She even raised a goat as her own! Nikki knows her basic commands and has the sweetest disposition. She loves to snuggle into pillows and blankets for a comfy nap. Nikki is an easy-going girl who craves human affection and has been described as “loving baby animals.” Nikki's son, Koda, is half lab, half malamute who was born on the family ranch. Koda walks nicely on leash and knows his basic commands. He is a sweet boy who spent his days on the ranch outside, taking naps and observing the resident animals on the property. Koda absolutely loves human attention, flashing his charming grin and offering a paw in exchange for affection. These two bonded sweeties are looking for their forever home together!

Story
Joey came to Lily’s after his owner had to go into assisted living. Joey has gone through several changes in his life but remains a loving guy searching for his furever human/s. Joey is easy to love. His blond locks, adorable toothless grin and puppy dog eyes draw you in, but his sweet demeanor, love for cuddling and calm nature make you stay! Joey is happily in his retirement era and enjoys his daily walks but most of all loves to spend his time lounging about with his humans, finding the nearest dog bed or couch for belly rubs and ear scratches. One of Joey’s favorite activities is to sit with a volunteer on his favorite bench in the Lily’s Big Field and watch the wildlife and happenings go on around him, quietly soaking up the sunshine and time with his humans. He would prefer to be the only pet in the home so he can receive all the love and attention he deserves.

Story
This sweet bonded pair ended up at the Kern County Shelter after their human passed away. They had been with her since they were young and were very well-loved family members. Sadly, they started shutting down at the shelter, but luckily a kind foster stepped up and cared for them for several months before having to go oversees to care for family. That’s when Harli & Bear made their journey to Lily’s, first spending time with a temporary foster and now with a long-term foster until they find their forever home (hopefully soon!). With all the changes in their life, understandably, Harli & Bear take some time to warm up to new people. Once they do, they spend most of their day lounging, wanting to be near their humans. Bear loves toys and won’t go anywhere without his stuffy. He is curious and a bit more reserved than Harli. But once settled, he sure loves his belly rubs! While she can be shy at first, Harli is a couch potato and a “go with the flow” kind of gal, just happy to be a part of the crowd. Both are learning confidence in their foster home, slowly learning to greet new people and open up. They both get along well with other dogs. In one of their foster homes, they had 5 resident doggy siblings and did well but would prefer a smaller pack at home with maybe one other dog so they can get all the attention they deserve. The pair have been working to befriend the resident cat, waiting and hoping at the top of the stairs that the cat will appear and want to play. While the resident cat isn’t quite as into his new friends, they are beginning to slowly win him over with time and persistence! Despite all they’ve been through, these two remain sweet and gentle dogs, looking for their new furever home to call their own. They have received rave reviews from their fosters on how easy and lovable they remain. Here’s what one of their fosters had to say: "These two are the most adorable bonded pair I have ever seen. Harli is sweet and shy. She is often afraid to go outside to greet my other dogs, so Bear will be by her side and he is her best bud and will always be with her. I have seen him give her kisses on the face to reassure her. They are an easy pair. They want mostly to be with their person and to have their bellies rubbed or their back scratched. They are not aggressive. They eat their food together peacefully and do not guard their food or toys. Wherever they go, their new guardian would be so incredibly lucky to have them. I have only fostered them for six days and already love them so much. They're an easy loving pair. Please consider adopting them. You will love them!"

Story
This lovable girl came to Lily’s as a stray from Stanislaus. While we don’t know much about her past, we know one thing for sure – Precious has a deep affinity for CUDDLING! Precious is a charming girl, flashing her contagious smile and adorable strut as she rubs against your legs in hopes for pets (and it works every time!). Precious is very smart and eager to please. When she’s not lounging on the couches in the Lily’s barn, she loves to be challenged with puzzle toys. Precious is the ultimate cuddle buddy looking for a furever home where she can get regular exercise but mostly curl up next to her favorite humans.

Story
Sweet Bella came to us as an owner surrender after her humans passed away. Bella was a well-loved companion in her previous home (and it shows!), where she had lived happily with her family her whole life. Understandably, Bella’s world has been turned upside down and she can be shy at first. It doesn’t take long for her to warm up and ask for belly rubs and scratches. She loves to play fetch and gets along well with other dogs, but mostly loves being with her humans, soaking up affection. Bella grew up alongside another male dog and has been around children throughout her life and does well. Bella has done well with the changes in her life, going with the flow and remaining a love in the process. But she’s ready to find her new forever home where she can find that loving bond she knows well and misses!
