Raisin | Pittie/Boxer Mix | 8-Years-Old | Neutered Male | Approx. 60 lbs. This handsome guy came to us after 499 days in the Tracy Animal Shelter where he had become a volunteer favorite. Raisin is typically known for his spark and hope, but that was starting to fade after a year without a family. Volunteers reached out to Lily’s and we couldn’t help but fall in love with him. We are still getting to know Raisin as he settles into the sanctuary, but so far, he has been a delightful, quiet and loving resident. He has gotten along well with the other sanctuary residents, and is always up for a romp or wrestle in the corral. But don’t take our word for it! Here’s what his past short-term foster had to say: "Raisin is truly one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. He settled into our routine quickly and adapted to a consistent schedule with ease. He’s quiet and rarely barks, only using his voice to alert us if something seems unusual. He is incredibly food-motivated, which makes him eager to learn and responsive to commands. Raisin already knows several tricks, is very smart, and genuinely enjoys training sessions. He also loves head scratches and is happiest simply being near his people. Whether you’re relaxing at home or running errands, he’s happy to be by your side. Raisin is an also a great companion in the car, happily relaxing in the back seat or sticking his head out the window to enjoy the breeze. At home, he enjoys playing with his toys, walks nicely on a leash, and sleeps soundly in his crate through the night.We’ve absolutely fallen in love with Raisin. He has been gentle, affectionate, and friendly with every person he’s met.”

Daisy | English Black Lab | 11-Years-Old | Female | Approx. 100 lbs., should be closer to 70 lbs. Daisy came to Lily’s as an owner surrender after life changes in her humans’ life. True to her breed, Daisy is a sweet girl who loves to retrieve any/all toys and balls and is looking for the other half of her Velcro. Daisy is a young senior, full of enthusiasm and excitement. She loves to play fetch and will do just about anything for a throw for the ball. After a few romps for the ball, she is ready to snuggle up next to you on the couch for a good nap. Daisy grew up as the only dog, but has lived on and off with other dogs and does well with doggie friends. Daisy is a loving girl, making everyone she meets her instant best friend. She will make a perfect companion for one lucky family/human.

Squishy is a happy, social girl who has plenty of energy and adventure. Squishy loves to meet new people and pups alike! She has a playful, silly side that is quick to show itself, trying to wrangle a wrestling match with doggie friends or a laugh from a human, all with a big grin on her face. This love bug is understandably a little nervous as she gets acquainted to the changes in her life. While she remains a total sweetheart, she would love to find her forever family as soon as possible!

Bella came to us as an owner surrender after changes in her humans’ life. She had been with her family since a puppy and was a well-loved family member and it shows. Often described around the sanctuary as “the perfect dog,” Bella is a gentle, affectionate soul and is wonderful with all other beings, including children and other dogs. She is a chill senior gal, but still likes to chase the ball on occasion and loves her daily sniffaris. Bella prefers to be close to her humans and a part of the action. This lovebug is looking for the loving family bond she once knew, where she return will love in spades.

Story

This sweet mother (Maggie) / daughter (Lucy) came to us as a bonded pair. The story goes they spent their life unhoused with their human, with an on-the-go lifestyle. When she could no longer care for them, a kind-hearted woman took them in. When it didn’t work with her, due to no fault of their own, she found them a place at to Lily’s. While we don’t know much about their past, we imagine they are used to their world changing around them, but the loss of their person has been a big one. Maggie is the worrier for the two, uncertain of what’s ahead. Maggie responds well to calm and consistent reassurance that she and her baby are safe. But it doesn’t take long for her to accept affection. She’s a sweet girl who wants to let her guard down and be the full-time cuddle bug she is at heart. Lucy follows her mom’s lead and is on the quieter/more timid side. But don’t let her fool you, while she won’t ask for pets, she will gladly lean in when they’re offered. Her loving heart is just below her shy exterior. While the pair is still getting settled into sanctuary life, they are beginning to open up more each day, and have even let us see their silly side, wrestling and running in the Lily’s dog park. They have gotten along well with all critters so far, thy even reportedly lived temporarily with another dog and cat and did well with both. We have no doubt these two will only continue to bloom and we can’t wait to see it. *Lucy is on the right in the photos.

Story

Martha came to Lily’s as a stray from Contra Costa shelter. We don’t know much about her past, but based on how sweet and lovable this girl is, we have a suspicion she’s known love somewhere. It’s also clear that Martha has had several litters of puppies, some very recently. She has since been spayed and we’ve promised her that in this next chapter, she will be spoiled as she deserves. Martha is a very sweet girl who loves meeting new people and gets along well with other dogs who respect her boundaries. She loves getting in sniffs and some good rolls in the Lily’s dog park, but most of all loves to cuddle up for a nice leisurely nap, ideally on the barn couch but she also LOVES her dog bed. This social butterfly has charmed us all with her sweet smile and spunky personalty! Martha is a very sweet girl who loves meeting new people. She exudes calmness and zen — the type of dog you’d take for hospital visits and such. She prefers dogs who respect each others space and can happily co-exist. She is not, however looking to be become big sister to a rowdy pup or pushy playmate. Rather, she would appreciate a buddy who respects her boundaries. The more we get to know her, the more this social butterfly shows her playful and spunky personality!
