Story
see description. Meet Bo! Bo is not just a dog; he's a loyal companion looking for his forever person. At 4 years old and weighing 110 pounds, Bo is a Bouvier Des Flanders with a heart as big as his stature. Despite a rough start in life, Bo's unwavering devotion and affectionate nature shine through. This gentle giant has had his fair share of challenges, but he's ready to leave his past behind and embark on a new journey with a loving family who understands him. Bo's previous experiences have shaped him into a dog who craves companionship and longs to be by your side, no matter where life takes you. Bo's ideal home would be one with a secured 6-foot fenced yard, where he can explore and play safely. He's not one to wander when his person is nearby, but he'll do anything to stay close to you when you're away. With a history of escaping, Bo needs a family committed to providing him with the security and attention he deserves. Although Bo hasn't received much formal training, his intelligence shines through, and he's eager to learn. With patience and consistency, Bo will thrive in a home where he can receive guidance and positive reinforcement. He may jump with excitement when he sees you, but with proper training, he'll quickly learn to channel his enthusiasm in more appropriate ways. Bo does have a medical condition - chronic pancreatitis - which requires a low-fat diet. However, this doesn't slow him down one bit! Bo's zest for life and loving personality make him an irresistible companion for anyone willing to provide him with the care and attention he needs. When it comes to his interactions with people, Bo is an absolute gem. He adores children and is a total love bug around them. His affectionate nature knows no bounds, and he'll eagerly shower his family with endless cuddles and kisses. While Bo may not be fond of large dogs, he can coexist peacefully with smaller ones under close supervision. However, on a leash outside the home, Bo tends to go after large dogs, so a sturdy person with a private place to walk or a spacious backyard for playtime would be ideal for him. Plus, Bo loves to go for car rides, so adventures with him are always on the horizon! Bo is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, chipped, and has even had a dental. His adoption fee is $275, a small price to pay for the boundless love and unwavering loyalty he'll bring to your life. If you're someone with breed knowledge, a secure home with a fenced yard, training experience, and a heart ready to welcome a dog who will follow you to the ends of the earth, then Bo is waiting for you. Open your heart and home to Bo, and together, you'll embark on a journey filled with love, laughter, and endless adventures. Adopt Bo today and let the love story begin! Story
see description. Meet Abby, a resilient 4-and-a-half-year-old sweetheart whose breed mix is a delightful mystery, though we suspect there's some German Shepherd and American Pitbull Terrier in her lineage. Weighing in at 52 pounds, Abby's journey to our rescue was one of survival and healing. Discovered by a compassionate soul in October of 2023, Abby bore fresh wounds, evidence of recent battles likely from encounters with other dogs or perhaps even coyotes. It took months of dedicated care to mend her physical wounds and fight off the heartworm infection that threatened her well-being. Restricted to cage rest for over two months, Abby's resilient spirit shone through, and today she stands ready for her next chapter. While she's a tad on the plump side now, Abby's eager to shed those extra pounds with some regular exercise. She's a fan of leisurely strolls, though her excitement may lead her to pull on the leash or surprise you with sudden animal-chasing escapades. However, on her turf, Abby is a perfect hostess, getting along swimmingly with other animals. A true cuddle bug, Abby finds solace in snuggling up next to her favorite human, though she may initially show signs of past mistreatment by cowering at sudden movements. Fear not, as she readily accepts belly rubs and eagerly hops into cars for thrilling rides upon hearing the command, "jump in." Abby's journey to recovery has been nothing short of remarkable, and we're overjoyed to finally open the doors to her forever home. While she'd appreciate the company of a fellow canine companion, what Abby truly seeks is a home filled with love and devotion. Some basic training would do wonders for her, though she's already proven herself to be quite adept with her potty habits and adjusts well to being crated, we prefer it only for short periods as she you get to know and trust her, and she acclimates to her new surroundings. Spayed, up to date on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and faithfully on heartworm preventative medication, Abby is more than ready to embark on the adventure of a lifetime with her new family. Her adoption fee is $225, a small price to pay for the boundless love and companionship she promises to offer. If you're ready to shower Abby with the love and attention she deserves, please consider opening your heart and home to her by applying at www.misfitsdogrescue.org April 14, 2024, 7:36 pm

see description  Meet Kiki, an elegant domestic long-haired feline seeking her forever home. At 8 years young and weighing 13 pounds, Kiki is a picture of feline grace. With her dental hygiene taken care of just a year ago, she's primed for a healthy future. Being fully litterbox trained, she's a tidy companion. Kiki is a cat who values her independence but doesn't shy away from affectionate moments, relishing in gentle pets and attention. While her luxurious coat may require some upkeep due to shedding, her companionship makes it all worthwhile. It's important to note that Kiki has been declawed and thus must reside indoors exclusively. If you're ready to welcome a sophisticated and loving companion into your home, Kiki might just be the perfect match for you. April 14, 2024, 7:36 pm

A COMPLETED APPLICATION IS OUR FIRST STEP TOWARD ANY PLACEMENT.  YOU WILL FIND THE APP ON OUR WEBSITE AT www.colliesheltierescue.org.  WITHOUT ALL OF THAT INFORMATION, WE HAVE NO PLACE TO START A CONVERSATION. If you close your eyes and wish for a big, magnificent, glorious Collie to be in your arms and in your heart.....this is Ruger. Ruger is a six-year-old neutered male rough coated Collie.  He has known nothing but love and kindness since he was a puppy.  His owner has made the very difficult decision to rehome Ruger because of living circumstances.  She is putting the needs of her dogs ahead of her own.  As you will see in Ruger's photos, he is the quintessential Collie.  Handsome, trusting, loving, playful and HUGE.  At this point in time, he weighs 113# but he should trim down to 100# with some more activity.  And he needs to be super active. We will not consider any placement where Ruger will not get the absolute best of everything.  He needs a young family, one where he takes the kids to school and runs with mom and helps with the laundry and errands and picks the kids up from school and plays until dinner time and then helps with homework.  You get the picture?! As stated previously, a completed application is our first step toward any placement.  Please read the section on our basic requirements.  And wrap your brain around a giant Collie (or two) being your next best friends.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 22, 2024, 10:27 pm
