Story
Pleas read description thoroughly and apply at www.misfitsdogrescue.org Sadie is a beautiful 55-pound Husky/Lab mix with a gentle soul and a big love for cuddles. She has one blue eye and one droopy ear. She was rescued in 2022 after being found abandoned in a Rubbermaid container along Highway 50 with her two siblings. Despite her rough start, Sadie has grown into a loving, loyal companion. Sadie was successfully adopted and has lived in a loving home, but due to unexpected family health issues, her owner can no longer keep her. She is now looking for a new forever family to call her own. Sadie is crate trained and happily goes to bed on command. She enjoys playing with other dogs and even does well with cats. Like many pups, she can’t resist chasing birds and squirrels, and she loves playing fetch and squeaking her favorite toys. She adores attention, though she can be a little shy when meeting new people and is sensitive to being scolded—she responds best to gentle guidance and positive reinforcement. She does well on a leash but is used to having a large yard where she can stretch her legs and play. Car rides are one of her favorite things, and she gets visibly excited the moment the leash comes out. While Sadie isn’t a fan of baths, she does love being towel-dried afterward. And best of all? She’s a total cuddle bug who loves being close to her people. Sadie is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $200. Story
please read description thoroughly and apply at www.misfitsdogrescue.org Chumlee is a senior dog without a cushy forever home for his senior years. He is a 10-year-old Miniature Pinscher mix weighing about 20 pounds. He’s a bit on the heavy side, with a sturdier, more robust build than a typical Min Pin. Chumlee came to rescue after his beloved owner passed away. His previous owner was an older gentleman, and Chumlee clearly enjoyed being someone’s loyal companion. Chumlee is potty trained but does best when encouraged to go outside regularly. He was kenneled in his previous home, though he much prefers sleeping in bed with his person. He does well going up and down stairs but needs pet stairs or an occasional lift down from beds or chairs. At first, Chumlee can be a little standoffish, but once he warms up, he’s an affectionate boy who truly loves attention, pets, and being close to his people. He loves treats and enjoys spending time with his person. Chumlee is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and recently had a dental cleaning. He does have hypothyroidism and takes a 0.1 mg thyroid tablet once every 24 hours. He takes his pill easily when hidden in a small piece of hot dog. Chumlee also has allergies that are currently well controlled with monthly Cytopoint injections, which must be continued with his new owner. As long as he remains current on his injections, he does not experience itching. Medicated baths are recommended, and Chumlee is very easy to bathe—he sits nicely. It is also recommended that he live in a home with no carpet. He does well with other dogs. He has not been cat tested, but he is believed he would likely do fine. Chumlee is not accustomed to being around children. He would do best in a calm, adult home, ideally with someone retired or home often—who can spend lots of time with him, take him for leisurely walks, and enjoy his sweet companionship. Story
Please read discription thoroughly and go to www.misfitsdogrescue.org for an application.Meet Dolly! Dolly is a sweet 12-year-old, long-haired Apple Head Chihuahua who weighs just 5.8 pounds. She’s a little independent at first, so she likes to take her time getting to know new people. While she may not love being picked up right away, she’ll quickly warm up once she trusts you. Dolly is mostly potty trained and goes outside, but she’ll also use pee pads if she isn’t taken out frequently. She has the most adorable little bark—more of a tiny “arf” that sounds a bit like a duck! This little lady enjoys car rides and would love short, leisurely walks. She’s recently been diagnosed with an enlarged heart and takes 1.25 mg of Vetmedin every 12 hours, which can easily be hidden in a treat. Dolly came to us with severe dental disease and has since had a dental procedure, so she’s lost a few teeth. She does well with kibble but has a clear preference for canned or homemade food. Dolly is looking for a warm, loving home where she can be cherished during her golden years. She’s ready to give all her love to the right person! Story
Boots was dumped, starving, in our rural neighborhood 7 years ago. She loves swimming, she'll eat anything, and she is definitely a couch/bed type dog. She knows sit, stay, go lay down, speak, jump, and shake. She's been a great dog for us, but needs to be in a household without small children who grab her. She's got a bad hip and broken front teeth, but has many adventures left in her. Please help us give her the life she deserves, as we are no longer able.
