Story
please read descriptionLibby is an 11-month-old Heeler/Malinois mix who had a tough start in life—abandoned as a newborn and bottle-raised by rescuers—which helped shape her incredibly affectionate, people-focused nature. She loves deeply and forms strong bonds with her humans. With a big personality, a gorgeous Malinois-style head, and even bigger energy, Libby is an exceptionally smart, fun-loving young pup. At about 50 pounds, she is potty trained, kennel trained, and rides wonderfully in the car. Libby loves her walks and is learning to walk politely on a leash. She’s an active, enthusiastic girl who would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and another playful, energetic dog. She does well with all dogs and has never shown aggression. Because she can be a bit rambunctious, we recommend older children and households without very small or senior dogs. She hasn’t been tested with cats but hasn’t shown signs of prey drive. This playful pup enjoys tug-of-war, fetch, and cuddling up at the end of the day—whether in her kennel or in your bed, if allowed. Because she is extremely intelligent and requires both mental and physical stimulation, Libby needs an adopter who is not only active and patient but also confident with training and excited to help her reach her full potential. Libby is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $100. Please apply at www.misfitsdogrescue.orgDecember 11, 2025, 2:51 pm

Story
Please read description thoroughly Meet Cash. Cash is a 7-year-old Yorkie or Yorkie mix who weighs about 17 pounds and has a long tail. He’s an easygoing, mellow little guy who’s happiest living life at a relaxed pace. Cash came to us with a severe yeast infection in his right ear, which has been treated. His future family should continue to keep an eye on that ear to help prevent it from returning. Other than that, he has no known health issues and has recently had a dental. He was surrendered due to having accidents in the house. Cash does best when taken outside frequently and enjoys going for walks. Belly bands are not a great fit for him due to his rounded figure, and losing a couple of pounds would likely help overall. Cash is a pretty chill dude. He enjoys attention and pets, is not a big barker, and would be perfectly content spending much of the day lounging, with walks being the highlight of his routine. Cash would do best in a quiet home with no small children. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. Cash’s adoption fee is $275. A COMPLETED APPLICATION IS REQUIRED BEFORE ANY CONVERSATION ABOUT ADOPTING FROM OUR ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE AT www.colliesheltierescue.org AND READ ABOUT THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS (GOOD PHONE INTERVIEW, SECURELY FENCED YARD, FABULOUS REFERENCE FROM YOUR VETERINARIAN AND A HOME VISIT).  I KNOW THAT IS A LOT BUT WE SCREEN CAREFULLY FOR THE SAKE OF THE DOGS.  THEY DESERVE IT! Finnegan is the kind of dog you have always wanted in your life.  He is a young adult neutered male rough coated Collie.  When he turns 2 on New Year's Eve, we will all celebrate! Finn's foster mom has lots of good things to say about him.  Although he is still a youngster, he is a happy and well put together dog.  At only 52#, he needs to put on another 12-15 pounds or so to look like to proud and confident Collie he will be as an adult.  Finn greets his little family of other dogs and humans happily first thing in the morning and is ready to start a new day full of love and fun.  He learns quickly and is ready to join a forever family and have men, women and children of his very own for a lifetime of love. Although Finnegan has not barked in the house, he does have a couple of quirky habits to be aware of, for full disclosure.  He can be a counter surfer which will take a bit of retraining. The retraining should also cover trash dumping in the bathroom and the ridiculous habit of unrolling toilet tissue and joyfully taking it with him from room to room.  Oops!  I should not have laughed!  And he loves to put his big glorious head in your lap especially after a big drink of water. Previous Collie experience is a plus as well as a lifetime commitment to Finn.  Our contractual agreement includes clauses to protect each dog as best we can.  Because we love them!    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 30, 2025, 4:20 pm

Story
A COMPLETED APPLICATION IS REQUIRED BEFORE WE CAN CHAT ABOUT ANY COLLIE OR SHELTIE IN OUR PROGRAM.  PLEASE READ ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION AND THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION AT www.colliesheltierescue.org AND THEN COMPLETE THE ONLINE APPLICATION.  IT IS EASY TO DO.  OUR IT FOLKS MADE IT EASY ENOUGH FOR ME! Leo is the quintessential Collie you have dreamed about.  He is a 3-year-old neutered male tricolor rough coated Collie with lovely manners and a fun nature.  He has been in a foster home with   a baby and loved every moment of it.  But "dad" has allergies and that has changed Leo's future.  Their disappointment may well be your lucky move.  Because Leo is now looking for his forever home. The ideal home for Leo will be one with children.  He adores them!  And a securely fenced yard, of course.  Leo is obviously a bed dog.  And a couch dog.  And a cuddle bug.  So beware!   Leo loves interaction with other dogs and cats.  Kids are a must, perhaps full time or regular visits to their grandparents.  He can be a bit of a barker that is characteristic of being a herding breed.  Because he is a young adult, he will need activity.  Walks, games, backyard ball throwing, trips to a feed store.  He does enjoy a nap or two during the day.  And he sleeps soundly through the night, hopefully close to the person he has chosen to be "his human." Let's see if we can make Leo's miracle happen before we drink a toast to the New Year.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 26, 2025, 6:45 pm

Story
A COMPLETED APPLICATION IS REQUIRED BEFORE ANY CONVERSATION ABOUT ADOPTING FROM OUR ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE AT www.colliesheltierescue.org AND READ ABOUT THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS (GOOD PHONE INTERVIEW, SECURELY FENCED YARD, FABULOUS REFERENCE FROM YOUR VETERINARIAN AND A HOME VISIT.)  I KNOW THAT IS A LOT BUT WE SCREEN CAREFULLY FOR THE SAKE OF THE DOGS.  THEY DESERVE IT! Archer is a big beautiful blue merle rough-coated Collie, a neutered male of course.  He is calm and friendly, a little reserved initially but warms up quickly.  His foster mom also refers to him as Bigfoot especially when he pounces on something with those big paws and then asks for his human to pay the "belly rub tax."  His mannerisms are typical Collie ones.  When you ask him a question, he tips his head from side to side as if to figure out the meaning.  This is known as the Collie head tilt, coming directly down the Collie lines from the original Lassie.  Archer will also lean up against you if he really likes you, so we need to be careful of very young children so that they are not flattened to the ground. Archer is good with all dogs, large or small.  He is not fond of cats.  He will love everyone in his forever human family and will choose his very own primary person, almost immediately.  Dogs are kind of persnickety when it comes to choosing their "very own human."  They will look over the field and sniff and rub against everyone's legs.  And then a Collie will go and sit on the foot of the chosen one.  It is wonderful to watch. Some of the herding dogs are huge barkers.  Archer is not one of them.  He does alert his people to outside comings and goings, delivery trucks and such.  And he will alert when the doorbell rings.  Families with prior Collie experience will be reviewed first in hopes of making the best possible match for Archer. I hope when Archer has chosen his human, we will get photos of them together.  He will put that big old head of his under someone's arm and smile.  That is how we will know it is forever!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 30, 2025, 7:41 pm
