Story
Meet Sage and Kimi (Kimi's AKC registered name is Song Dog Kimi-Ishi!). They are two medium-size dogs that came to Safe Place recently. They are a bonded pair of dogs, and their foster reports that they are great dogs, friendly, well behaved, crate trained and walk well on leashes. They had extensive training in obedience, rally, and agility. Sage is an 11-year-old, neutered male and more outgoing. Kimi is a 12-year-old spayed female and shyer. They are pretty laid-back dogs that spend a lot of time snoozing in the sunshine and dreaming of their glory days. They come with their own crates, supplies and a month of medication and food. As they are older dogs they do have some special needs and medications. Their $200.00 adoption donation includes all of their equipment as well as vaccinations, microchips, recent heart worm tests and more. For more info, contact Safe Place for pets at www.safeplacepets.org.or call 719-359-0201 to arrange a meet and greet today!

Sugar

Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)

Female, 9 yrs 6 mos
Colorado Springs, CO
Size
(when grown) -
Details
Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats,
Story
Sugar loves affection and pets but also is okay with just napping on the couch. She enjoys short walks on a leash and is well-behaved. When meeting new people she is slower to warm up than her sister May. The vet reports she has right back leg arthritis but is managing going up and down the stairs quite well with no obvious pain or discomfort. She is fully crate trained and sleeps well at night. Sugar is fully potty trained with no issues. May is extremely affectionate and loves attention! If Sugar is getting any attention May will not have it and she push her way in to get her belly rubs too. May is full of personality. Her demeanor is sweet and loving. She will crawl up on your lap if you are sitting next to her. She likes to be the center of attention. May definitely is the more outgoing dog. She is playful and loves her toys and will fetch a ball to play. On walks, she needs more correction on the leash due to her excitement. She also sleeps well in her crate at night. The vet reported May has a left eye cataract which may impact her vision. At this time, she has no issues with her vision They both are full of energy in the mornings when getting out of the crates. They're very loving and sweet girls and would be a good addition to a home where an owner can be available to give lot of love and attention but they are also content spending time together on their couch or outside in a yard.
