Beans is being fostered now. He was adopted and spent the last 1 year + with an elderly lady who has fallen ill and cannot care for him any longer. He is a loving and affectionate boy. He loves to go for walks, run, play fetch (his favorite game) and chase squirrels. He loves to cuddle on the couch. He's house broken and loves his space in his crate. He prefers to be the only pet. Very friendly to people.

Meet Bucky!Bucky is the kind of dog who just needs a little moment to figure things out. When he first meets new people he can be a bit shy and prefers to take his time getting comfortable. But give him a little patience and kindness, and you’ll see what a truly sweet boy he is.Once Bucky warms up, his calm and gentle personality really shines. He enjoys being near his people and is happy just relaxing and enjoying the quiet moments. He’s the type of dog who would love a home where he can settle in, feel safe, and build a strong bond with his family.Bucky has also done well with other dogs, so he may enjoy having a canine friend to hang out with.If you're looking for a loyal, mellow companion and are willing to give a shy guy the time he needs to blossom, Bucky may just be your perfect match. Come meet him and see how special he really is! 🐾Adoption Hours are Thursday through Sunday from noon to 5pm. You do not need an appointment to come by and meet animals during adoption hours.

Story
Meet Bert – Not for the Faint of Heart (But Worth It)What can we say about Bert? To be honest… he can be kind of a jerk.Bert loves his people, but manners? Optional. He’s jumpy, excitable, and not exactly subtle when demanding attention. Personal space is a suggestion in Bert’s world. Speaking of jumpy—Bert can climb some fences and clear the rest like an Olympic sport.Oh, and fun fact: Bert is officially banned in Charlotte-Mecklenburg County.Yes. Really. 🫣But here’s the thing—once you get past the rough exterior (and accept that Bert is just a little bit of an a-hole), you’ll find a sweet, loyal boy who desperately wants someone to understand him. He’s not mean. He’s not malicious. He’s just… Bert.Bert would do well with other dogs, but a home with lots of kids is not his vibe. He needs a patient, experienced home that understands quirky dogs, can provide structure, and sees potential where others see “problem child.”If you’re the kind of person who:appreciates an underdoghas a sense of humorbelieves every dog deserves someone who gets them…Bert just might be your guy.Not perfect. Not polished. But 100% real—and ready for the right person to take a chance on him.Adoption Hours are Thursday through Sunday from noon to 5pm. You do not need an appointment to come by and meet animals during adoption hours.
