Story
Addy was a rescue in 2020. I was caring for my aging mother and they were excellent companions and looked after each other when I was on the road for work, which happens frequently. Mom passed a few months ago and Addy needs a home with a loving family. I have to spend too much time on the road for work to be a great home for her. She is a sweet girl. She loves kids and we have a cat she gets along with great. She has a nice back yard that she loves to spend time in. She loves being outside. She has her shots and she is spade. She only barks when someone is coming toward the house. She is hard to give up, but she will be happier with a good family then spending too much time in a kennel while I travel.

Story
Meet Chance!Chance is a 6-year-old, 70-pound friendly guy who is ready to find his forever home. He came to us from a shelter in Florida and has been patiently waiting since 1/22/2026 for a family who will appreciate his gentle, social nature. Chance is outgoing and affectionate, quickly making friends with people he meets and showing off the kind of easygoing personality that makes him a joy to be around.Chance would do well in a home with children of all ages, as long as everyone is comfortable with a strong, loving dog. He has done well meeting other dogs at the shelter, and adopters with resident dogs should plan a meet-and-greet to ensure a smooth introduction. Establishing a routine in his new home will help Chance feel confident and settled as he adjusts to his family.Chance is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives—ready to start the next chapter of his life. If you’re interested in meeting him or learning more, please reach out to an adoption counselor by phone at (517) 626-6060 or email at adoptions@adoptlansing.org. After waiting since January, Chance is more than ready to find a loving family to call his own.

Story
Meet Xena!Xena is a 3-year-old, 55-pound social and energetic lady who is ready to find her forever home. She originally came to us from a shelter in New Mexico and has been patiently waiting since 1/28/2026 for a family who can match her active lifestyle. Xena loves attention and affection, and she already knows commands like sit and touch, making her a fun and trainable companion.Xena is best suited for an active household where she can enjoy long walks, hiking, dog sports, and plenty of playtime. Because of her size and spirited personality, we recommend no young children, and any kids in the home should meet her prior to adoption. She enjoys playgroups here at the shelter with dogs her size or larger, and adopters should plan a meet-and-greet with any resident dogs to ensure a good fit.Xena is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives—ready to start the next chapter of her life. If you’re interested in meeting her or learning more, please reach out to an adoption counselor by phone at (517) 626-6060 or email at adoptions@adoptlansing.org. After waiting since January, she’s ready to find a family who will embrace her energetic, fun-loving spirit.

Story
Meet Betty!Betty is a 2-year-old, 65-pound large, social lady who is ready to find her new home. She came to us after being left by her owner with someone who was not able to keep her and has been patiently waiting since 3/9/2026. Betty is a strong, confident dog with a vibrant personality and lots of love to share—she’s not one to lounge all day and thrives in an active household.Betty would do best in a home with older children, and we ask that any young kids in the household meet her prior to adoption to ensure a smooth fit. She prefers to be the center of attention, so she would do best in a home with no other dogs. With patience and a slow introduction, she may be able to live with cats. Betty is exuberant, affectionate, and ready to be a devoted “one and only” companion.Betty is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. She’s looking for a home that enjoys long walks, hikes, training, and playtime, and that will match her energy and enthusiasm. If you’re interested in meeting her or learning more, please reach out to an adoption counselor by phone at (517) 626-6060 or email at adoptions@adoptlansing.org. Betty is excited to find a loving family who will embrace her spirited, affectionate personality.

Story
Meet Hyde!!!He is a truly special 1-year-old boy with a heart full of potential and a stunning red, blue, and merle coat to match! At about 50lbs, he’s a perfectly sized companion who’s ready to bring both joy and adventure into the right home. Hyde came to the shelter on 04/07/2026 when his previous owner could no longer care for him, and he’s been patiently waiting for a fresh start with a loving family. While Hyde may need a few quiet days with minimal handling to settle in and build trust, his sweet personality shines through once he feels comfortable. He already seems to know “sit,” and although he was a bit too stressed to fully play, he showed interest in chasing toys—hinting at a fun, playful side just waiting to blossom. When meeting other dogs, Hyde has been friendly, and after a brief moment of nerves, he warms up quickly—especially after getting the chance to run around and let loose!Hyde would do best with adopters who understand that he may always take a little time to adjust to new environments and relationships, but the reward of earning his trust is truly something special. Families with young children should plan a meet-and-greet to ensure a great fit, and if there are cats in the home, a thoughtful, gradual introduction plan will help set everyone up for success. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives—ready to begin his next chapter. If you’re interested in meeting him or learning more, please reach out to an adoption counselor by phone at (517) 626-6060 or email at adoptions@adoptlansing.org.
