Story
Meet Chance!!! He is a 6-year-old large-breed gentleman weighing around 80 lbs who’s ready for his next chapter. He’s a friendly, easygoing guy with a big love for toys and a solid foundation of good manners—he already knows “sit” and enjoys engaging with his people. Chance would benefit from a healthy feeding and exercise plan to help him feel his best, and he seems more than happy to join you for daily walks or playtime. His past foster homes have nothing but great things to say about him, describing Chance as social, playful, cuddly, and overall fairly calm for a dog his size. He enjoys companionship and would love a home where he can soak up attention and be part of everyday life. We recommend that all family members meet Chance prior to adoption to make sure everyone starts off comfortable and connected. When it comes to other dogs, Chance appears to have preferences, and we’re hoping to learn more about that during his stay with us. He may be able to live with another dog, but we’d like to do a meet-and-greet at the shelter to ensure it’s a good match. In his next home, Chance would also benefit from a refresher on a consistent potty schedule, which should help him settle in smoothly and set him up for success. He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives. If you have further questions, please call the shelter at (517) 626-6060 or email our adoption staff at adoptions@AdoptLansing.org.

Story
Meet Coraline!!!Coraline is a 6-year-old sweetheart with a big heart and an even bigger love for her people. She’s the kind of dog who finds comfort in affection and will happily try to curl up in your lap—even if she doesn’t quite fit. Coraline knows her basic manners like sit and shake, loves meeting new people, and thrives on attention, often asking for it with gentle nudges or soft whines. In her foster home, she was house-trained, polite, and great at letting her people know when she needed to go outside. She also enjoyed car rides, playtime with tug toys, and, most of all, staying close to her humans. This lovely lady can be active and strong, with a quick little gait that keeps walks interesting. She’s enthusiastic about the world around her and may bark when she hears activity outside or sees other dogs or critters. Because of this, Coraline would benefit from continued positive reinforcement training, especially to help her feel more relaxed and confident on walks. She’s patient, easily redirected, and eager to please, which makes her a great candidate for someone willing to invest in her success. When it comes to other dogs, Coraline has had mixed feelings. Based on her past and her time in the shelter, she would be happiest as the only dog in the home, where she can fully relax and soak up all the love. With time and proper introductions, an experienced adopter may be able to help her adjust to a canine sibling, but her comfort comes first. Coraline may do well with children given time, and we recommend all family members meet her before adoption. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Coraline might just be your perfect match. She is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations and preventatives. If you have further questions, please call the shelter at (517) 626-6060 or email our adoption staff at adoptions@AdoptLansing.org.

Story
Meet Kamon!!!Kamon is a 10-month-old male who’s already around 50 pounds and expected to be a large dog once fully grown. He came to us through an interstate transfer from another shelter, so much of his history is unknown, but he’s been making a great impression during his time here.At the shelter, Kamon has been a social, people-oriented dog who enjoys being around his humans. Because of his friendly nature, we recommend that all family members meet him prior to adoption to ensure a good fit. Kamon has also interacted well with other dogs and has shown tolerance even with more forward or “invasive” canine play styles. With gradual introductions and a thoughtful management plan, he may be able to live with another dog.As a young dog, Kamon would benefit greatly from continued training in the home. He’s at an ideal age to learn good habits and build on his social skills. With structure, guidance, and ongoing training, Kamon has the potential to grow into a well-rounded and enjoyable companion. He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives. If you have further questions, please call the shelter at (517) 626-6060 or email our adoption staff at adoptions@AdoptLansing.org.

Story
Meet Xena!!!This 3-year-old, medium-sized lady weighs about 50 pounds and came to us through an interstate transport from another shelter. She was briefly adopted but returned when it turned out she wasn’t the right fit for that home. Xena is a social, people-loving dog who enjoys attention and pets from everyone she meets, and she already seems to know cues like sit and touch.Xena is strong, energetic, and very athletic—her impressive muscle tone says it all! Because of her strength and enthusiasm, we recommend that all family members meet her prior to adoption. She’ll do best with an adopter who can keep up with her active lifestyle and provide daily mental and physical outlets. Xena would likely shine in agility or other dog sports and is not one to be content without regular engagement. She has enjoyed meeting other dogs at the shelter, and in her most recent home it was noted that she did well with small dogs but could be selective with larger dogs. For this reason, we’d like to set up a meet and greet with any resident dogs before adoption to ensure a good match. Xena appears to be mostly housetrained and is ready for an active, committed home where she can channel her energy and truly thrive. She is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations and preventatives. If you have further questions, please call the shelter at (517) 626-6060 or email our adoption staff at adoptions@AdoptLansing.org.
