You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please Note: This animal is listed as a courtesy to another organization or individual. Please be sure to contact the foster/caretaker for more information about him/her. '“Meet Glenda Mae! She is heartworm negative and around 45 lbs fully grown. Glenda was on the 'At Risk' list at her local shelter due to stress, but is doing great in her foster home!Glenda Mae always has a smile on her face and is a playful puppy at heart! She adores toys and loves to play tug-of-war and fetch! Her zoomies are the cutest thing you’ll ever see . She is medium-high energy, but she's been very content to spend most of the morning and afternoon napping while I work. She sleeps great in her kennel through the night and while I'm gone for the day without any fuss! She now walks great in her harness and hasn't had an accident in the house or her kennel since the first week I started fostering her. When we take her to our usual walking path, she isn’t reactive to dogs or people (though she likes to stare at them walking by ).She is wary of strangers and takes time to learn to trust them, but once she learns that you're her person she'll absolutely love you wholeheartedly. She'll become a total cuddle bug!Due to her wariness of strangers, she would do best in an adult-only home or a home with older children who can patiently work with her to build a trusting bond .Glenda is vaccinated, spayed, and ready to find her forever home! We would love to find an adopter or foster home ASAP due to the upcoming change in work schedule during the holidays. Please reach out to a.k.candia98@gmail.com for any questions about this girl.''Rehoming fee appliesVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 6:43 pm

Story
"You wanna live with a Cinnamon Girl, you can be happy for the rest of her life with a Cinnamon Girl"! Inspired by the classic Neil Young song, Arietta is a stunning girl with beautiful cinnamon coloring on a white base and expressive chestnut eyes. At just 1 year-old, she is a vibrant, adventurous soul looking for her furever home. Arietta is the definition of "small, but mighty." Weighing in at only 13 lbs., she is an intelligent, funny, and curious girl who maintains a joyful and puppy-like energy. Whether she is romping through deep snow (no matter how cold it is!) or waiting with barely contained excitement for mealtime, she is always ready for action. Arietta has the cutest prance and moves about the house and yard with a happy facial expression. Darling! She is remarkably athletic and fearless, sometimes running through the house with reckless abandon. She is adept at climbing and jumping and isn't yet leash-trained because of winter weather obstacles, so a very secure backyard fence and gate are a must! She has a fierce prey drive, if it moves, she wants to chase it! Because of this, she cannot live with small companion animals (including cats). Likely an outside dog in her past life, Arietta recently has made huge strides in house-training. While she is finally getting the "knack of it", she still requires a regular schedule of potty breaks to ensure her continued success.  She is an excellent, alert watch dog, but is not a nuisance barker. She will let you know when someone or something is there, then settles down quickly. Arietta is a social butterfly in the canine group, for sure. She bonded with her foster sisters almost immediately and sleeps and plays with her "rattie" roommates. She would be happiest in a home with at least one other doggie companion, no matter how large or small, and someone who is home most of the day. Arietta is a "paws on the ground" kind of girl. She is hand-shy and does not like to be picked up and held. While she has recently started trusting her foster parent to pick her up, it takes time and a gentle touch and coaxing to earn that privilege. Because of her handling preferences, she is best suited for a home with adults and respectful older children who understand she is not a "lap dog" to carry around. She does enjoy sitting by your side on the couch or chair or sleeping next to you under the covers. She will jump up on her own into the chair or onto the bed. Arietta does well in a crate overnight, but much prefers sleeping with her doggie and human friends. Arietta is ready for her next chapter. If you are looking for an adventurous, loving companion, you could be happy for the rest of her life with a "Cinnamon Girl"! For photos and some snow bunny videos of Arietta visit her online photo album at  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/arietta  If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. Story
Meet Gibby - Fostered near Grand Rapids Breed: MIXED Breed DOB: Jan 12, 2025 Sex: Neutered male Weight: 65 pounds HI! I’m Gibby! My brothers and I came to APB from Kentucky where we were found on a roadside as little babies. My brothers got adopted but I’m still waiting for the RIGHT family to come along. Its now 2026, my brothers have had homes since last summer! 🙁 No one knows who my parents are because all 3 of us look so different we had to do DNA. Mom says I’m a Big Ole Mutt. But she says I’m super cute and so soft, with great ears. My ears change with my mood…and Im not kidding! Sometimes I have labby ears and sometimes they go off to the sides and sometimes even almost all the way up! Mom says its the weirdest thing ever. I really do have at least 15 breeds in my background. My mom or dad must have been some sort of protection breed, because 50% of me is a mix of Rottie, Pitty, Am Staf, Boxer and American Bulldog. then you throw in a ton of others, Lab, Collie, Golden, and even Chihuahua!! Even though Im 50% protection breeds, I also protect my property, my cats and my dog siblings, and I am even allowed in the horse barn to help with chores, but never in the horse pasture. Mom says not to cross that gate, so I don’t. I walk around with the chickens and ducks and dont care a bit...I do like to find their eggs though! YUM! We have deer here too, mom says I can’t bark at them or chase them either, I try not to, but they come in MY yard! I bark at them a lot, but when I hear her yell Gibby Come, I try to go back to her. I don’t want to be naughty I like to be a good boy! I still think barking at them is kinda fun…they need to know I’m big too! I am a good boy in my crate, but I sure do like to see the other doggies. I like to have friends! When mom gets into the cookie jar, I RUN to my crate and am quiet and comfy in it. It’s my special, safe, napping spot! I sleep in it all day long until I hear someone come home, then I sing and yowl and get all wriggly, cause now its play time!! I like my crate for sleeping next to mom too, I never complain (unless I have to potty) I would really like to have a doggy sibling, or someone who wants to be my BFF and have a shadow. I’ve never been alone so I’d like to keep it that way! I do love kids too! Just not little ones because mom says I’m “rude”. Whatever that means! I love all people, but sometimes I do get soooooo excited I might tinkle a little. Mom says I have to grow out of that sooner than later! I have kind of decided that I want to be in charge. My sister dog here is in charge and I want to be too! But no one will let me! I keep trying, but they still think of me as a puppy... Im not a puppy anymore! Someday, some dog will let me steal their food! Or their toy! it usually leads to a scuffle, but I keep trying! I do love my siblings but Im sick of them treating me like the baby of the house! Im bigger!! I like going bye-bye and I walk good on a leash, but I am going to keep getting bigger and bigger so mom says I need to not pull! I don’t pull bad, but she says I’m not getting any smaller and to mind my manners, and I do try, so hard! She says that I would love obedience classes, even just for socialization and fun. I love to learn. She says I’m SO smart! We never took obedience classes but I know Come, Off, Down, Sit, Wait, and of course NO. I like going to fun stores and meeting new people! I haven’t found any dogs who like me. She says I get out of control and I sound too scary! I want all of the people to say HI and pet me and give me cookies! It’s SO fun! If I get really excited I do tinkle, but mom says I’ll grow out of that…eventually. No one likes to get sprayed! I can’t help it, people are SO exciting!! I like to help mom play in the garden, she digs holes, and I dig better holes! Then I run and run and run some more. Water is fun too, I love getting muddy! I love playing in the water! Ponds, lakes, puddles, even the water dish can be fun! My foster mom says I need to find my own family, but it’s fun here – will you do fun things with me too, for the rest of my life? That sure would be nice! Please email tzupoomom@gmail.com and tell them you want to be my new family!!! If you have any questions, please email tzupoomom@gmail.com . Story
Meet Kamon!!!Kamon is an 11-month-old, medium-sized pup weighing around 50 pounds who came to us on an interstate transfer from another shelter. This young guy is full of personality and loves meeting new people. Kamon is a social, friendly dog who enjoys attention and is always excited to make new friends.Like many young dogs, Kamon is still growing into himself and doesn’t always realize just how big he is. His enthusiasm and playful nature can sometimes get the best of him, but with guidance and continued training, he has all the potential to mature into a wonderful companion. We would like all family members to meet Kamon prior to adoption to ensure he’s a good fit. With a gradual introduction, he may do well with another dog in his new home. Kamon is a big young dog who will thrive in a home where everyone is ready for the responsibility, training, and fun that come with raising an energetic pup.He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives. If you have further questions, please call the shelter at (517) 626-6060 or email our adoption staff at adoptions@AdoptLansing.org.

Story
Meet Betty!!!She is a beautiful 2-year-old grey and white girl weighing in at a lovely 55 pounds of sweetness and sparkle! Betty is a charming pup who enjoys staying close for gentle chest pets and companionship. She showed nice sociability during her evaluation, happily hanging nearby to soak up affection — though we have to admit, tasty treats may just be her true love language! She appears to know “sit,” but like many clever girls, she sometimes prefers to keep you guessing and was a bit reluctant to show off her skills during her evaluation.Betty would do best in a home where she can meet everyone ahead of time, we require that any young children in the household come in to meet her prior to adoption. In fact, we recommend that all family members spend time with her to ensure it’s a perfect match. She’s ready to build strong bonds with her future people! When it comes to other dogs, Betty may prefer being the star of the show as a single dog in the home. However, with an experienced adopter who understands and can thoughtfully manage dog interactions, she might be able to share her space. Any resident dogs would need to meet Betty prior to adoption, and we currently recommend a home without other dogs unless the adopter is very experienced. As for feline friends, Betty may be able to live with cats provided there’s a gradual introduction and a thoughtful separation plan to set everyone up for success.Betty is a bright, affectionate young dog with so much love to give. With the right home, a pocket full of treats, and plenty of cozy chest scratches, she’s sure to blossom into a devoted and delightful companion. She is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives. If you have further questions, please call the shelter at (517) 626-6060 or email our adoption staff at adoptions@AdoptLansing.org.
