Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.BRIE HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING.  WE, THEREFORE, WILL NOT BE PROCESSING ANY ADDITIONAL APPLICATIONS FOR HER.Meet Brie!  This long-haired beauty is a sweetly tempered, stunning-looking girl.  Our best assessment (NO GUARANTEE) is that she is about 14 weeks old and a high-level German Shepherd mix.  Her gorgeous brindle coloring, which offsets her lush black coat, could be Dutch Shepherd, but that is a best guess only.  Right now, Brie weighs about 30 to 35 lbs - so, we expect (though CANNOT GUARANTEE) that she will be large or extra-large when full-grown.Brie is doing very well in foster care.  She is catching on to basic commands (including 'down') quickly.  She enjoys playing with other dogs, is doing very well with potty training and crate training, and appears to be happy, healthy, smart girl.  In her foster home, there are dogs larger and smaller than she -- she is fine with all of them.  However, she does have some prey drive, but she corrects quickly when her foster mom or the little dogs in her household tell her to back off.  In any event, given her breed mix and this trait, we are seeking a home without small animals (be it dogs or cats, etc.).Anyone interested in Brie should do their research on the GSD breed.  This breed is wonderful but requires consistent, committed training, as well as a strong leader.  We will give preference to applicants who have first-hand knowledge of and experience with this breed.  We simply want to provide Brie with the type of environment in which we feel she will best flourish.Brie is up-to-date on her core vaccines and is ready for her forever home.  If you feel you can provide Brie with the love, support, training, guidance and consistency that she needs to become the marvelous dog she is meant to be, please apply to be considered (as described below). _______________________________________________________________________**If you are seriously interested, YOU NEED TO APPLY.  Also, a follow-up email to info@safeatlast.net, is strongly recommended. To pursue adoption, please register on www.safeatlast.net.  (Click Register on the left-hand side of our homepage.)  When you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to our website to complete the SAFE AT LAST on-line adoption application.  (Click Forms/Application on the left-hand side of our homepage and select the Adoption Application.) Once we have your completed application, if we feel you are a good match, we will contact you by email. (So, please check your SPAM.)  Our process is straightforward but involves a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), apply. YOU CANNOT MEET BRIE UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ON-LINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants.  Ultimately, approved adopters will be required to complete an adoption in Schoharie/Albany County. Thank you for your interest.(Sorry we cannot respond to generic 'check the box' 'Is he available' 'Can you give me more information' inquiries.) Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.JAX HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING!!!!  WE, THEREFORE, WILL NOT BE PROCESSING ANY OTHER APPLICATIONS FOR HIM.Let's talk Jax everyone - there are so many words to describe him -- fun, sweet, smart, obedient, loving and that's just to start!!  And how about his cool look. Anyone else see an 80's rockstar like maybe Rick Springfield, lol.  Our best assessment is that he is 9 months, which means we see those moments of teenage energy, but he quickly listens and settles down.  Jax would love a backyard and some activities like hiking or maybe even play dates if his new home has no siblings for him.    People and dogs both make him happy, even his vet visit was loves, hugs, belly rubs and tail wags.  While Jax enjoys others dogs, we think he would also do fine as a solo dog, provided he was involved in family life and some fun activities. Jax is fine tuning his basic manners like crating and a schedule for potty training. Just a few days in and he is picking it all up quickly. It helps that he is very food motivated. Our best assessment (NO GUARANTEE) is that Jax is a poodle mix.   Right now, he is about 50 lbs and he needs to gain a little weight to get to his ideal size.  He is a medium-sized dog, and given his lovely disposition, we feel he would fit in great in family situations where he would be included in day-to-day activities and family life. _______________________________________________________________________**If you are seriously interested, YOU NEED TO APPLY.  Also, a follow-up email to info@safeatlast.net, is strongly recommended. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.SULLY HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING.  WE, THEREFORE, WILL NOT BE PROCESSING ANY ADDITIONAL APPLICATIONS FOR HIM.Meet Sully!!!!!!   Happy, happy, happy - that's what Sully is, all day, every day.  He loves all people and introduces himself to every canine friend he meets with a tail wag. Food is even more fun. He will dance and squeak and race to his crate to eat - and he is part of the clean bowl club.  If his canine friends don't want to play or mom is busy with dinner clean-up, that's okay; he will just grab a toy and entertain himself.   Sully is not the biggest fan of crate training - but he is okay with it settles in quickly; though, he really prefers to be with his people.  As for potty training, that is a breeze too.   Sully really is a cool, happy little guy looking for a family that will enjoy him & include him in day-to-day family life.  Our best guess on breed (NO GUARANTEE) is that Sully is a wheaten terrier mix.  We also estimate (though CANNOT GUARANTEE) that he is approximately 1 year old.  He weighs about 25 lbs. Sully is also neutered and up to date on his core vaccine.  So, he is ready for his forever home._______________________________________________________________________ **If you are seriously interested, YOU NEED TO APPLY.  Also, a follow-up email to info@safeatlast.net is strongly recommended. Story
Nicholas is the biggest ol' hound boy with that famous hound dog bark! Nicholas does love his people, but he needs to really learn what being a family dog is all about. Nicholas has been pretty reactive with other dogs since coming in, but did do well with the cat he was tested with. He has gotten better on leash, but still needs a new owner that will teach him manners and want to work with him to get the reward of his love for the rest of his days. Nicholas is a young, 4 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound. Do you have the space on your couch for this goofy hound dog?
