Story
Hello! My name is Gucci, and I am an affectionate, playful, and curious dog. I love to run around and explore, and I would make a great companion for anyone who loves the outdoors and going on adventures. I am very athletic, and I love to play with toys indoors and outside. I'm also happy to cuddle up and relax with my foster family while they read, or work, or watch tv. I'm fully house trained, and I sleep in my crate every night. My fosters are teaching me some basic commands. Can you imagine what my life was like before I came to JCAPL? I was used as a breeding dog, and then abandoned by my humans. I can't see out of my left eye, and sometimes children and tall humans startle me; but I like them when I get used to them! Even though I have been through a lot, I still love people and get along with other dogs and even cats. Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received. Completed applications can be submitted online, or sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org, faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner’s White Oak Shopping Center. We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application. Thanks for thinking adoption!

Story
Casper here! I'm a young male dog with lots of love to give. They call me friendly, curious, cuddly, and well, just straight up adorable! I have a great time running around and roughhousing with other dogs and older kids; but when it's time to chill, I love nothing more than to snuggle up with you. I think cats are really interesting, but I don’t understand them yet. My foster home has two other dogs, and sometimes we cuddle up together. I'm learning to be crate- and house-trained, and to walk on a leash and other commands, too! If you choose me, I will show you my devotion as your furever best friend with plenty of kisses and nose boops. Are you ready to see if we're a match? ** Please note that while Casper is not currently neutered, this will be included in his adoption process ** Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? Story
Luna is all hound, all the time! This sweet girl is friendly and full of life, and she's sure to bring lots of love and laughter to her forever home. She has loads of energy and loves being outside, because that’s where the smells are the best! As a typical hound, she wants to follow her nose, wherever it may lead her. She's working on her leash-walking skills—her need to sniff all the smells sometimes overrides her ability to be patient—but with her food-motivated personality, she's sure to improve with continued patience and training. Luna is an independent girl who loves to explore and make new friends, both human and canine. Her favorite toys include bones and anything that squeaks. Luna’s trademark hound bay will welcome you home, announce visitors, and let you know about exciting things she observes outside the house. She is crate-and house-trained, but she's at her best when she can be included in family activities. Luna’s ideal furever home and family include lots of walks or a fenced yard for all the sniffing, scheduled feedings (so she won’t overeat), and maybe a tween or teen to play with. If you're ready for a furry friend who's full of love, energy, and excitement, Luna is the perfect girl for you. She can’t wait to start your adventures together! Story
Hi there. I’m Moose, and I want to be your friend! Can I follow you around? Sit beside you? Lay on you? I'll be the perfect dog for you. Well, unless there is food nearby. That may distract me just a bit. But otherwise, I’m all yours. Foster mom thinks I’m a lab/husky/something mix, but would love to see what a DNA test says. My fur is as soft as silk and I've got a cute, jaunty curl in my tail that won't stop wagging! They say I was born in April, so I’m still a puppy. I’m goofy, playful, and mischievous--but I’m not destructive. I might sneak into the trash can if I can, or counter surf. Like I said, food gets me every time. I'll be forever grateful if you can teach me how to grow into a good boy and your best friend! Do you want to meet me? And maybe adopt me? I love making new friends, both human and canine, and I'm always up for a game of fetch or an adventurous hike. I’ll be your bestest boy ever! Story
Penny Pennapolis is an incredibly sweet dog who is timid and shy with new people. However, she is very playful and snuggly once she warms up to you. Penny would do best in a quiet home without young kids or other pets, where she can have the time and space to come out of her shell and feel safe. She would love a patient owner who can give her lots of love, affection, and of course, treats. Penny is a very smart girl who is highly food motivated and eager to please. With the right person or family, we believe she will thrive and become a more confident, happy dog. If you think you could give Penny the loving home she deserves, we encourage you to come meet her today! Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen?
