Story
Meet Nugget! Nugget (dob 7/11/25) is a sweet mixed breed puppy (best guesses - Lab/Pit/Carolina Dog?) who’s as lovable as he is adorable. This little guy has the perfect balance of playful energy and snuggly charm. While he can be a bit timid with new people at first, with patience and love his true personality shines bright. He does love other dogs so another dog in the home may help him adjust to new home. Nugget’s favorite things: • Rolling in the grass and soaking up the sunshine • Chew toys and tasty treats • Snuggling up for naps (he’s a champion cuddler!) • Playing with other dogs and even cats • Running, climbing stairs, and zipping through the doggy door like a pro • Calm bath times and mealtime excitement He’s adventurous too. Nugget even gave swimming a try! While it’s not his favorite, he didn’t hate it either. He’s agile, curious, and learning quickly. Potty training is going really well! Nugget would do best in a home filled with patience, kindness, and love, where he can continue to build his confidence and blossom into the amazing companion he’s meant to be. If you’re ready to add a loyal, affectionate, and playful pup to your family, Nugget is waiting to meet you! ***PLEASE NOTE*** This pup has not yet been altered and requires an extra $100 spay/neuter deposit. JCAPL will pay for the procedure at a partner clinic and once completed, the deposit will be refunded to the adopter. However, a non-local adopter is required to pay for the spay/neuter at their own veterinarian by a specific date. After proof of the procedure is provided, $50 of the adoption fee will be refunded with the deposit. *** Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? Story
Rudy is a sweet, affectionate, and well-behaved hound mix who is about 9 years old. He enjoys being outside, especially to sunbathe, and he loves cuddling with his people. He can be selective about his dog friends, so slow introductions are a must. He would love to be in a single-dog family, or with another dog who will give him space to get used to each other. Rudy does take Trazedone to help with his thunder and separation anxiety, and he's been through behavioral training. He would do best in a home where he can get lots of love and attention, and where he will have a safe space to feel comfortable and confident. Could you open your heart and home to Rudy? ***PLEASE NOTE*** Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? Story
Daisy June (“DJ”) is looking for her forever home. She is about 2 years young, house- and crate-trained, dog social, and very people social. DJ is high energy and would love a running or cycling companion for daily exercise or family adventures. She is not for the novice dog owner or a home with very young children due to her desire to greet you with her whole being (but this is a work in-progress). She can self-entertain for hours, but to continue her success she should be crated if left alone. DJ is very affectionate and loves to snuggle during tv time. She is incredibly smart, wants to learn and please, and is very trainable. Currently she sleeps in her crate all night without a peep, but if she had the opportunity to sleep with her own person or people, she would be in total bliss. In the daytime she’s happy to play with toys, dog siblings, or sleep while human fosters are working. ***PLEASE NOTE*** Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen?
