Meet Baeya – A Tiny Velcro Companion with a Heart Full of Love Quick Facts: Breed: Toy Poodle mix Age: 8 years Weight: 9 lbs House-Trained: In progress Crate-Trained: Yes (but can be left alone without crate) Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Yes Good with Kids: Yes Energy Level: Low Fence Required: No Special Traits: Velcro dog, lap lover, shy at first Why You’ll Love Baeya: The ultimate lap dog and cuddle companion Sweet and gentle temperament Gets along with adults, kids, dogs, and cats Low energy and content to relax all day Walks nicely on leash Loves being close — always touching her person About Baeya’s Breed: Toy Poodle mixes are known for their intelligence, devotion, and affectionate nature. They often form strong bonds with their people and thrive in homes where companionship is plentiful. With consistency and structure, they make wonderful, loyal family members. Baeya’s Story & Personality: Baeya is the definition of a Velcro dog. She wants nothing more than to be close to her person — touching you, sitting in your lap, or curled up beside you on the couch. She is incredibly sweet, cuddly, and super chill. She can be shy when first meeting new people, but once she warms up, she gets along beautifully with adults, kids, dogs, and even cats. Her gentle and easygoing personality makes her a peaceful presence in the home. Baeya has low energy and is perfectly happy spending most of her day lounging beside you. She enjoys walks and does well on leash, but she’s just as content relaxing indoors. She is currently working on potty training and will need continued consistency. She is crate trained but does not require a crate when left alone. Because she thrives on structure and companionship, her ideal home would be with someone who is home most of the time and can maintain a regular potty schedule (or use pee pads if preferred). Baeya truly just wants to be attached at the hip to her person — and she will return that devotion tenfold. Baeya’s Ideal Home: Someone home most of the time Consistent potty routine Calm, relaxed household Family wanting a true lap dog Home ready for a loyal Velcro companion Ready for a Lifetime of Snuggles? If you’re looking for a tiny shadow who will happily spend her days by your side, Baeya may be your perfect match. She is sweet, loyal, and ready to love her person completely. Story
Meet Izzy (AKA Bean) – A Tiny Little Bean with a Big Cozy Heart Quick Facts: Breed: Chihuahua/Dachshund/Jack Russell mix Age: 7 months Weight: 6 lbs House-Trained: Almost completely (also uses pee pads) Crate-Trained: Unknown (should be monitored until out of puppy stage) Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not tested (suspected to do well) Good with Kids: Yes Energy Level: Medium Fence Required: No Special Traits: Submissive play style, adaptable, loves play-then-snuggle routine Why You’ll Love Izzy (AKA Bean): Perfect “play hard, nap harder” personality Sweet and affectionate without being clingy Great with adults, kids, and other dogs Walks beautifully on leash Small, portable size (just 6 lbs!) Happy as an only pup or with dog friends About Izzy’s Breed: With Chihuahua loyalty, Dachshund devotion, and Jack Russell spark, Izzy carries a lovely blend of affection and playful spirit. These breeds are known for bonding closely with their people while still enjoying activity and interaction. With continued positive structure, this mix grows into a loving and adaptable companion. Izzy’s Story & Personality: Izzy (lovingly called Bean) is a sweet, snuggly girl who has mastered the art of balance. She enjoys a good play session, happily engages with toys or other dogs, and then seamlessly transitions into cuddle mode. Unlike some puppies who are constantly “on,” Izzy has a wonderful rhythm — she’ll play, explore, and interact… then curl up beside you like a tiny warm bean and recharge. She enjoys other dogs but doesn’t depend on them for confidence, meaning she would thrive either with a canine companion or as your one-and-only. She is almost completely housebroken and will also use pee pads. While her crate training status is unknown, she should be supervised when alone until she matures out of the puppy stage. She walks beautifully on leash and does not require a fenced yard, making her adaptable to many living situations. Izzy is sweet with adults and children and has a gentle, submissive play style. Though she has not been cat tested, her temperament suggests she would likely adjust well with proper introductions. Izzy’s Ideal Home: Family willing to continue positive puppy guidance Home able to supervise while she finishes maturing Someone who enjoys both playful moments and quiet cuddle time Canine sibling optional — she’ll thrive either way Household looking for a small, adaptable companion Ready for a Tiny Companion with the Perfect Rhythm? Izzy (AKA Bean) brings just the right mix of playful spark and peaceful snuggles. If you’re looking for a petite pup who can keep up when it’s fun time and settle in when it’s quiet time, Izzy may be your perfect match. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. Story
Meet Turbo – A Speedy Little Shadow with the Sweetest Squeaky Yawn Quick Facts: Breed: Terrier mix Age: 1 year Weight: 15 lbs House-Trained: In progress Crate-Trained: Yes (should be crated until fully housebroken) Good with Dogs: Yes – loves dogs of all sizes Good with Cats: Not tested Good with Kids: Not tested Energy Level: Medium to High (active bursts 3x daily) Fence Required: Yes Special Traits: Lightning-fast zoomies, squeaky yawn, toy and chew enthusiast Why You’ll Love Turbo: Adorable squeaky yawn that will melt your heart Loves dogs and plays beautifully while respecting boundaries Toy and chew obsessed (in the best way!) Equal parts speedy athlete and couch companion Sweet, shy, and submissive personality About Turbo’s Breed: Terrier mixes are often intelligent, energetic, and playful companions. They thrive with engagement, structure, and consistent guidance. With proper outlets for their energy, they make incredibly loyal and entertaining family members who love both activity and downtime. Turbo’s Story & Personality: Turbo earned his name honestly — this boy is fast! When he gets into the yard with a ball, he turns into a little rocket. He absolutely loves toys and chews and looks forward to his active play sessions about three times a day. His most energetic time is early morning, with additional afternoon and evening play sessions lasting around an hour. Despite his speedy side, Turbo is also content to hang out on the couch and relax with his people. He’s shy and submissive when first meeting adults and can be slightly nervous at first, but once he feels safe, his sweet personality shines through. He does wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes. He respects boundaries, enjoys playing, and happily cuddles up afterward. He could thrive in a home with other dogs, but would also do well as an only dog with proper enrichment. Turbo is crate trained and still working on house training. He should continue to be crated until fully housebroken. He currently eats best when someone is in the room with him, as it helps him feel secure. One important note: he should not engage in active toy play immediately after eating, as he can get overexcited and may vomit. Leash training will require patience and dedication. Turbo currently shuts down on leash, and treats have not yet been effective motivation. He is also uncomfortable wearing a collar at this time. Because of this, a securely fenced yard is absolutely essential so he can safely exercise while leash skills are being developed gradually and positively. And perhaps the most charming detail of all — when Turbo yawns, he makes the tiniest squeaky sound. It’s completely adorable and impossible not to smile at. Turbo’s Ideal Home: Securely fenced yard (required) Patient adopter committed to extensive leash training Plenty of toys and chews for enrichment A calm, understanding household Possibly another friendly dog, though not required Ready for a Little Speedster with a Soft Heart? Turbo may be speedy on his feet, but he’s tender at heart. With patience, structure, and love, this sweet boy will blossom into a loyal, playful, and devoted companion. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Story
Meet Pooh — a 6&#226&#128&#145month&#226&#128&#145old, 12 lb Bluetick Beagle pup with a heart full of sweetness and a nose that’s always ready for adventure.   Quick Facts: Name: Pooh Breed: Bluetick Beagle Mix Age: 6 months old Weight: 12 lbs. House-Trained: Working on it! Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes (would love a playful sibling!) Good with Cats: Yes Good with Kids: Yes, best with kids who can handle puppy energy Energy Level: Medium (playful) Fence Required: No, but preferred due to her explorative nature   About Pooh’s Breed: Our best guess is that Pooh is a Bluetick Beagle mixed breed. Bluetick Beagles are known for their keen noses, curious minds, and cheerful, affectionate personalities. They’re classic little hounds—playful, expressive, and always ready to follow an interesting scent. Their striking bluetick coat pattern gives them a unique look, and their friendly nature makes them wonderful companions for families and other pets.   An ideal home for a Bluetick Beagle is one that offers plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and safe opportunities to explore. Because their noses lead the way, they thrive with a fenced yard or regular leashed adventures. They do best with families who appreciate their energetic, inquisitive spirit and can provide consistent training, companionship, and lots of love.   What to Love about Pooh: Pooh is playful, loving, and full of that irresistible puppy energy that makes every day a little brighter! When she’s not exploring or playing with her toys, she’s happiest curled up in bed, where she sleeps soundly through the night.   Pooh is still learning the ropes of puppy life — she’s mostly potty trained but may still have accidents, and she’s working hard on her manners, including understanding the word “no.” She’s crate trained and should be crated or gated when left alone, as her curious beagle nose can lead her into mischief. She rides well in the car (though drive&#226&#128&#145thrus aren’t her favorite), walks nicely on a leash, and is eager to keep learning with a patient, dog&#226&#128&#145savvy family.   She adores other dogs and would love a playful canine sibling to romp with! She’s also good with cats and would do well with respectful, dog&#226&#128&#145savvy kids. With her hound instincts, Pooh loves to sniff, explore, and follow scents, so a fenced yard or regular leashed adventures would make her very happy!   Pooh’s Precious Highlights: 6&#226&#128&#145month&#226&#128&#145old, 12 lb Bluetick Beagle puppy with tons of sweetness and playful energy Loves to explore and sniff — classic hound instincts in a tiny package Great with dogs, cats, and respectful kids Crate trained and should be crated or gated when left alone (curious puppy nose!) Mostly potty trained but still learning, as expected for her age Enjoys walks, rides well in the car, and is learning basic commands Plays wonderfully with other dogs and would love a playful canine sibling Sleeps through the night and loves cuddling when she’s not busy playing   Pooh is a remarkable little pup — sweet, energetic, curious, and full of love. She’s ready to grow, learn, and thrive with a family who can guide her through puppyhood and enjoy all the joy she brings!   Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Story
Meet Otto Jones — a 12&#226&#128&#145year&#226&#128&#145old, 11 lb. miniature Poodle mix who is as adorable as his name suggests!   Quick Facts: Name: Otto Jones Breed: Miniature Poodle Mix Age: 12 years old Weight: 11 lbs. House-Trained: Yes, but has occasional accidents (will wear a belly band) Crate-Trained: No – but does use a gated pen in his foster home Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not tested, likely fine Good with Kids: Not tested, likely fine with older, respectful kids Energy Level: Low Fence Required: No Special Needs: Otto Jones has cataracts in his left eye and partially visually impaired. He also seems to be a little hard of hearing. He is currently Heartworm Positive (which is treatable) and all treatment will be paid by CrisisDogsNC even if he is adopted prior to completing treatment. (Heartworm treatment includes 30 days of Doxycycline (“slow kill” method due to his age).   About Otto Jones’s Breed: Our best guess is that Otto Jones is a miniature poodle mixed breed. Miniature Poodles are known for their intelligence, affectionate nature, and gentle, people&#226&#128&#145oriented temperament, making them wonderful companions for families and seniors alike. They tend to bond closely with their humans and enjoy being part of daily routines, whether that’s relaxing on the couch, going for short walks, or simply following their person from room to room. Their bright minds and sensitive personalities often make them responsive, loyal, and eager to please.   An ideal home for a Mini Poodle is one that offers steady companionship, a calm environment, and gentle structure. They thrive with people who enjoy spending time with their dogs and can provide consistent routines, light exercise, and lots of affection. Because they’re social and emotionally attuned, they do especially well in homes where they’re not left alone for long periods and can enjoy the comfort of being near their favorite humans.   What to Love about Otto Jones: Despite being a senior, Otto still has a surprising pep in his step and enjoys short walks, exploring the yard, and being part of whatever his people are doing. His happiest moments are spent snuggled beside his person or curled up in his cozy dog bed. He loves belly rubs, being held, and soaking up affection — especially from his foster dad, whom he follows around like a devoted little shadow!   Otto has slightly impaired hearing and vision, including a cataract in his left eye, but it doesn’t slow him down or dampen his cheerful spirit. He’s very food&#226&#128&#145motivated, loves treats, and could chew on bones all day if you let him! He’s almost fully house trained, though he still wears diapers for the occasional accident, and consistent potty breaks help him stay on track. He does wonderfully with the other dogs in his foster home and fits right in. He hasn’t met cats or kids yet, but would likely do well with calm, respectful children.   He’s not a fan of being crated and would do best in a gated area with a comfy bed when left alone. At night, he’s happy to sleep in your bed or in his own bed right beside you! Otto is a lower&#226&#128&#145energy gentleman due to his age, but he still enjoys leisurely walks and is great on a leash. He is currently heartworm positive, and the rescue will fully cover his treatment — even if he’s adopted before it’s completed.   Otto Jones’s Outstanding Highlights: 12&#226&#128&#145year&#226&#128&#145old, 11 lb miniature Poodle mix with a sweet, gentle temperament Still has a little pep in his step and enjoys short walks and exploring Loves snuggling, belly rubs, and being right beside his person, especially his foster dad Slightly impaired hearing and vision (blind in one eye) but still gets around confidently Very food&#226&#128&#145motivated and loves treats and chewing bones Almost fully house trained; wears diapers for occasional accidents and benefits from consistent potty breaks Does great with other dogs and would likely do well with calm, respectful kids and possibly cats Not crate&#226&#128&#145friendly; does best in a gated area with a comfy bed when left alone Sleeps happily in your bed or in his own bed beside you Lower&#226&#128&#145energy senior who just wants companionship and affection Currently heartworm positive, and his treatment will be fully covered by the rescue   Otto Jones is a gentle, loving, loyal little companion who wants nothing more than to spend his golden years by someone’s side, soaking up love and offering endless sweetness in return.   Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/.
