Story
🐾 Meet Riley Riley is a sweet, loyal 11-year-old small terrier (about 15 lbs) looking for a calm, loving home where he can enjoy his golden years. He is 98% easygoing and thrives in a peaceful environment. Riley bonds deeply with his people, loves routine, and is happiest curled up nearby or enjoying quiet companionship. Once he knows you, he’s affectionate, devoted, and wonderfully steady. 🧠 Personality & Home Fit Riley does best in a low-key, adult-only home or with older, dog-savvy teens. Like many senior dogs, he can be startled if approached suddenly by unfamiliar people, so he needs a family that understands canine boundaries and is comfortable giving him a little space at first. With a gentle introduction and a predictable environment, Riley settles in beautifully and shows his loving side. 🐕 Ideal Home ✔ Calm household ✔ Patient, experienced dog owners ✔ No small children ✔ Slow introductions to new people ✔ Quiet, predictable routine

Story
Pippa is an exceptional, healthy 3-year-old spayed female Husky with a wonderful temperament. She is being rehomed solely due to a change in my personal circumstances that no longer allow me to meet her physical/social needs. She is friendly, playful, and very well socialized with dogs of all sizes and ages. She is gentle with babies and young children and affectionate with new people. Pippa is house-trained, crate-trained, and obedience trained, responding reliably to sit, stay/wait, and go to place/crate. She loves fetch, running, long walks, yard play, playing with other dogs, and car rides. Indoors she is calm, non-destructive, enjoys puzzle and chew toys, and rarely barks. She has a high prey drive and is continuing work on leash manners and recall. Home requirements: a fully fenced yard (6 ft minimum) and a very physically active owner to meet her energy requirements. A home with another dog is required due to separation anxiety. Ideally cat-free.

Hansel is a fun loving dog with a lot of energy. Loves being outside, going on hikes and camping. He would definitely do well with a fenced in yard and another dog to play with.

Story
Five years old, 25 pounds and easily the best dog in the world. She’s playful, smart, well-mannered, and still has that puppy heart. She loves doing tricks, being around people, and soaking up affection. Due to a busy schedule and frequent travel, her needs aren’t being met the way she deserves she’s ready for a home where she can be loved on as much as she loves back. She got all her shots and booster so all paid up too! Crate trained and included with me ans and all my accessories.

Story
Hi there! I'm Dakota, a sweet lab mix around 8 years young, and I'm on the lookout for my forever home! I'm a calm and cozy pup who loves lounging nearby while you work or relax. Wherever you are, that’s where I want to be too. I get along great with kids, other dogs, and new people. Having a dog sibling would be really fun, but I’d also be okay solo as long as I have a lot of time with my humans. I go crazy every time I see a cat, so no cat siblings for me. I have good leash manners and like to go on walks with my foster mom. My foster parents leave me home alone uncrated and they always return to the house in perfect condition. I had a bit of a rough start, but I'm getting healthier every day and the vet says I'm doing great! I had a wound on the side of my face that is healing very nicely and will leave a small scar. I am heart worm negative, neutered, and up to date on all my vaccinations. I may be an older pup, but I have so much love to give! My gentle demeanor combined with my playful spirit makes me the perfect addition to any family. If you're looking for a loyal companion-let's meet! I can't wait to find my forever home where I can thrive and share all my cuddles. Could that be with you?

COURTESY POST FOR ORANGE COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER Looking for a loving home for Ace, a 6 yr old neutered male. Ace is fully house-trained, and knows basic commands. He is incredibly friendly and absolutely loves people. He loves to show his big heart as well as his big personality.  Ace loves to run, stretch his legs, and especially enjoys a good game of fetch. He likes to have a few good sets of zoomies throughout the day, but with that being said he’s not “go-go-go” all the time. After he gets his playtime in, he’s perfectly content to relax and chill for most of the day. He has a wonderful balance of playful energy and laid-back downtime - perfect for busy owners looking for a low maintenance dog. He has a big, expressive personality and isn’t shy about showing it. He’ll make you laugh, keep you entertained, and most of all, make you feel loved. He is selective about other dogs and would do best as the only dog in the home. In a dog-free home, he truly shines. FOR MORE INFORMAtiON ON ACE, please Contact Orange County Animal Shelter at (540) 672-1124
