Story

This fellow came to me from a training student who couldn't keep him. He's been with me for about 2.5 months and now it is time to find him a home! Like any ACD, he is active and needs lots of direction and enrichment. But gosh, is this guy fun and a joy to work with. From what we were told, his parents are both working farm dogs. He has done well with my 3 dogs - two small (8 lbs, 15 lbs, and 35 lbs) He and the other teenager (15 lbs) play. He is.. a lot, but she is a great communicator and he is getting much better at respecting her “no thank you”s. He will reliably come when called, even out of a game. He is respectful of our 2 older dogs. Everyone can share toys and eat together. He does well with my 3 yr old human, always with hands-on supervision. His needs someone who is active, spends lots of time outdoors, and will include him in all the things. He hikes and trail runs with me and is amazing in and off-leash. Meet Lucy a lab, shepherd, Aussie working type dog whose human dad died recently. Lucy is 12 years old but is spry and intelligent and loyal and looking for a new fella to bond to Her passion here is keelping our pond free of foul..all geese hérons etc must find somewhere else to roost! Lucy is 12 years old but wants everyone to know that she feels like a 7 year old! Lucy is having a hard time at our sanctuary because all the little yapping dogs make her nervous, but on the other hand larger dogs make her happy and playful. Lucy loves taking walks in our fields, wading in the pond and lying on her comfy bed observing the world from the porch. Lucy would do well with another dog her size or as and only dog as she finds the yappy heel biters here annoying. Lucy is housebroken and polite in the house. She is very heathy and UTD on everything. Lucy wants to help her new man with all his chores. She loves to ride in your car or truck, take leisurely walks, and hang on the porch. She loves all people and is very affectionate, She loved picking raspberries and watching me mow.
