Lemon is a wonderful dog. She is a long haired Shiba inu that was part of my breeding program years ago. I switched breeds and would like to find her a retirement home. She does well with other dogs if introduced slowly. Does fine with children. Would prefer someone that is familiar with the breed.She loves going in the car, going hiking, into stores. She is used to sleeping on dog bed or in bed with me and doesn't need to be crated during the night or when you go out. Cain is a 3.5-year-old, strikingly handsome boy who has already endured more than his fair share. When he came into the care of the Athens County Humane Society, he was in rough shape with wounds along his back and the scars of having spent most of his life on a chain. Thanks to the dedication of volunteers and the staff at the Athens County Dog Shelter and his amazing foster home, Cain has started to heal and learn what kindness feels like.At his first vet visit, we also discovered that Cain is heartworm positive. While heartworm is a serious condition, Cain is receiving the treatment he needs. The process carries risks, but he has shown remarkable strength and resilience already. After everything he’s overcome, Cain deserves the safety and love of a forever home. He would do best as the only pet, though he does enjoy side-by-side walks with other dogs. This sweet boy is Joe. Exact birthdate is 5/2/19. He does well with the other dogs he is currently around, but new dog tolerance is unknown. Approximately 50-60lbs. Cream/light apricot color. He has mostly been an outside dog, so he is not housebroken. He is microchipped. He has been around kids ages 6-10 and does completely fine with them. He is a multi-generation Goldendoodle. His shedding level, with a longer coat, is moderate to low.

We believe ”Scout” was dumped in our town. He roamed the streets for days until we finally gained his trust and now he’s home with us.We have 4 other dogs so 5 dogs is a bit much to handle, but we’re doing our best! He’s great with our toddlers, other dogs, and cats. He’s a little skiddish with loud noises. He shows absolutely no signs of aggression, but if there’s a home where he can have someone’s full attention and that may be a little less chaotic than ours I think it would be best for him!He just got vaccines September 5th through the Libby Foundation.

Great Pyrenees 2 thumbnail We recently took in a 5 year old purebred unaltered Great Pyrenees from someone unable to keep their pet but he wasn’t a great fit for what we were looking for. He is a wonderful dog and a very good boy but needs a little more work with guarding goats. With some training, I believe he would be a great livestock guardian. He is great with other dogs and children. He would also be a great pet. We are heartbroken to have to find another home for him but unfortunately we just don’t have the time to devote to training.
