He is extremely intelligent and learns quickly. His favorite activities are giving kisses and squeaking his squeak toys. Rio is house-trained and crate-trained. Rio is Jack Russell mixed with cattle dog. This means he is energetic and likes to “herd” his people. Because he herds we recommend no small children. He is not aggressive in anyway but he could accidentally hurt small children trying to get them to go where he wants (herding). Rio prefers dogs his own size or a little smaller. He does ok with big dogs with proper introduction but we prefer he goes to a home with no dogs over knee-high. Has been around cats but he likes to chase them around. He doesn’t bark in home or while walking on the street. He knows commands and follows them loves treats and walks but willl be couch potato with you. He’s looking for his forever home.

Story

Benji is a 10 month old, Doberman/Husky mix. He was born on New Year’s Day 2026. Benji is a loyal, goofy, energetic ball of love. We are saddened and a bit ashamed that we have to rehome him but in the end it is best for him and our family. Benji requires patience and lots of attention which we cannot give him in our household. Currently our home life is changing and no one will be home with him until late night, we have two small children who keep us very busy and find that Benji almost never gets undivided attention. This is truly unfair to such an energetic young dog who just wants to play and run. Financially we cannot afford him either, this was poor decision making on our end but with prices going up and the price of oil going up to heat our home, if anything happens to Benji, we cannot afford to take him to the vet for emergency care. We carry immense guilt and have taken time to unfortunately make this decision to rehome our boy.

He does do well with the other dogs and can be cat tested if needed too.He is very nervous around new people so a home with little to no visitors would be best as it is very overwhelming for him, He would do best with no children too. Cheesecake may be a bit hesitant around new people, but give her time and she will warm up to you. She will need a patient owner who can help continue her training and who can give her the structure and routine she desires. Cheesecake would do best in a home with no other animals. She needs an owner with previous Rottweiler experience, as well, since she carries the typical Rottie 'tude!
