Story
Rum and Tequila are 2 gorgeous mixes that weigh approximately 35 lbs each and are approximately 1 year old. While we do not know their exact breed, they are full grown at 35 lbs – We believe they could be a mix of pointer, heeler, beagle and maybe dalmatian. These 2 girls are NOT bonded, but they were found together and well… you can just look at their spots and see how similar they look! Rum and Tequila were found with their mom and another sibling. The mom and brother have since been adopted, but the finder originally wanted to keep these 2 girls but can no longer. They were found behind a liquor store when they were only 8 weeks old. The clerk had made a small shelter behind the store out of liquor boxes, hence how they got their names. This is their first time being listed for adoption, so they finally have a chance to find their forever home. Both girls are very similar in personality (and looks!) They both LOVE children and would be fantastic in a home with all age children. Tequila has been sleeping in by the side of the bed of the foster’s children and just loves it. Rum and Tequila love other dogs and would thrive in a home with or without them. They are not overconfident, but they are not scared either. Rum and Tequila are the perfect middle ground of just going with the flow. They have met all size dogs and no issues. Both dogs have been introduced to cats and just ignore them. They show no prey drive therefore we believe they can live happily with cats with proper introductions. Rum and Tequila are crate trained and house trained. They know how to walk on a leash, and they both do well on it! They ride in the car with no issues and would be great as adventure buddies! The only difference the foster does point out is Tequila is calmer but still loves her play time. Rum is more active and playful and would be better suited in a more active home while Tequila would be fine for a calmer home/medium active home. These dogs might as well be perfect. They are sweet, friendly, loving, playful, gentle, kind and they love all animals and all people they meet. They are super smart and would make the perfect addition to the perfect home. Rum and Tequila are spayed, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on dewormer and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We ONLY do adopt in Central US and the East Coast. The adoption fee listed ($525) INCLUDES transport from Texas to the location where this animal is posted in. Transport goes to the following locations every 2-3 weeks Albany and Latham, NY Wells and Brattleboro, VT Willington, Enfield, New Haven and Dayville, CT Port Chester, NY Dayton and Akron, OH Grove City and Bloomsburg, PA Ridgefield and Mt Laurel, NJ White Marsh/Elkton, MD Falls Church, VA We have happily adopted hundreds of animals this way (long distance), and we do our best to make sure the animal you are applying for is best fit for your home.

Story
Chico is a 1-year-old male mix that weighs about 50 lbs and is looking for his adventure buddy/family to go through life with! Chico was found roaming around a neighborhood along the Texas/Mexico border. Unfortunately, there are thousands of strays in this area, and it is very normal to have dogs hanging out on the corners, looking for scraps, water and just some place to lay down. A good Samaritan noticed Chico (and a few other dogs) close to her home just roaming around for a couple weeks, and decided she wanted to help them. Matilda and Chico are 2 of the many dogs our rescue has stepped up to help her with. Chico was hanging around the area for about 2-3 months before she took him in in early December of 2025, when it was just too cold for him to be out there. Chico was a little shy at first, but it didn’t take him long to show his big personality. He is an active boy that loves to play and romp around the yard. He loves to stretch his legs and chase the other dogs around the yard. Chico needs a more active home, one that will provide plenty of exercise. Not only is Chico active, but he is also very smart and would do best with activity games to work with (where he must look for his treats or similar) to give him some challenges. He loves playing with toys, especially stuffed ones where he can dig the squeaker out and squeak it until it can squeak no more. The next best thing is making sure the cotton is all out of the toy and leaving it everywhere for the foster to pick up, this is definitely in his top 5 favorite things. He enjoys bones and balls also. Really anything that will keep him busy and enjoying himself. He is mostly crate trained unless he is left alone too long, then he does have an accident, but not on purpose. Chico is great with children but due to his activity level, we do recommend slightly older children because he is very playful and known to jump sometimes when he gets his happy zoomies. He loves his walks and going exploring! He is very curious and always up to see new things. As you can see in the video, Chico had no problems with having a bath done and if anything, he is probably one of the better-behaved dogs we have seen getting a bath! If you’re looking for a very smart, curious, energetic, playful, and loving adult dog that just needs a family to call his forever one, please consider Chico. Chico will be neutered, he is current on age-appropriate vaccinations including parvo/distemper, bordatella and the rabies vaccine. He is heart worm negative, dewormed, microchipped, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, and will receive a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to adoption/transport. Story
Toby is a 8-month-old shihtzu mix that is just as cute as can be. This little guy was an owner surrender to our rescue to no fault of his own. Unfortunately, the owners live in an apartment and had over the max of animals allowed when they were told they would get evicted or they need to get back to the number of animals allowed. Toby is full of life, energy and happiness. He is an active that boy loves to run around and explore all over. He LOVES children and would do great with kids! They can exhaust each other running around and playing. Toby is the type of dog that wants to go on adventures and explore the world with you. He will be your most loyal sidekick and best buddy to travel with. If you’re wanting a shadow, Toby is your guy. He is house and crate trained but he does NOT like his crate. He would rather be out running free and with his people. We do believe he could have slight separation anxiety, so someone home more often than not, or other dogs for him to play with to keep him busy is a must for Toby. Toby is an escape artist – we put him in an outside enclosure just temporarily, and within seconds he was climbing the wire and getting over the 6-foot-tall wire enclosure and jumping down. He can not be left alone in a backyard at any time, so please be aware of this so if you are wanting to adopt him, you can accommodate this for him. Toby wants to sleep in bed with you and cuddle next to you on the couch when he is not running around and playing with his toys. This boy is all around awesome. He is friendly, energetic, loving, gentle, playful and is waiting impatiently for his forever home. Toby is neutered, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, dewormed, microchipped and will receive a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to adoption.
