Story
Chico is a 1-year-old male mix that weighs about 50 lbs and is looking for his adventure buddy/family to go through life with! Chico was found roaming around a neighborhood along the Texas/Mexico border. Unfortunately, there are thousands of strays in this area, and it is very normal to have dogs hanging out on the corners, looking for scraps, water and just some place to lay down. A good Samaritan noticed Chico (and a few other dogs) close to her home just roaming around for a couple weeks, and decided she wanted to help them. Matilda and Chico are 2 of the many dogs our rescue has stepped up to help her with. Chico was hanging around the area for about 2-3 months before she took him in in early December of 2025, when it was just too cold for him to be out there. Chico was a little shy at first, but it didn’t take him long to show his big personality. He is an active boy that loves to play and romp around the yard. He loves to stretch his legs and chase the other dogs around the yard. Chico needs a more active home, one that will provide plenty of exercise. Not only is Chico active, but he is also very smart and would do best with activity games to work with (where he must look for his treats or similar) to give him some challenges. He loves playing with toys, especially stuffed ones where he can dig the squeaker out and squeak it until it can squeak no more. The next best thing is making sure the cotton is all out of the toy and leaving it everywhere for the foster to pick up, this is definitely in his top 5 favorite things. He enjoys bones and balls also. Really anything that will keep him busy and enjoying himself. He is mostly crate trained unless he is left alone too long, then he does have an accident, but not on purpose. Chico is great with children but due to his activity level, we do recommend slightly older children because he is very playful and known to jump sometimes when he gets his happy zoomies. He loves his walks and going exploring! He is very curious and always up to see new things. As you can see in the video, Chico had no problems with having a bath done and if anything, he is probably one of the better-behaved dogs we have seen getting a bath! If you’re looking for a very smart, curious, energetic, playful, and loving adult dog that just needs a family to call his forever one, please consider Chico. Chico will be neutered, he is current on age-appropriate vaccinations including parvo/distemper, bordatella and the rabies vaccine. He is heart worm negative, dewormed, microchipped, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, and will receive a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to adoption/transport. Story
Tammy, Tessa and Tex are 3 gorgeous chi mix pups that are approximately 15-17 weeks old and weigh around 6-7 lbs. While we do not know their parents, we estimate they will be no bigger than 12-13 lbs once full grown. Tammy and Tessa are both female and Tex is a male, they are all siblings. They were found along the Texas/Mexico border – no parents in sight. They were starving, dehydrated and fighting just to live day to day. Now these babies are safe, well fed and loving life. They are happy little rugrats that love other dogs and would thrive in a home with or without other dogs in it. Their current home does have doggies, and they love playing with them. Given these babies’ background, they can be a little shy, but it doesn’t take long for them to come around and come out of their shell. They have met kitties and they are more scared of cats than anything else. They love to play but also love to sleep and they are learning cuddling is a wonderful thing. Tex, Tammy and Tessa would do great with children 5+ as they are very small and can be timid at first, but once they are comfortable, they are little energizer bunnies that keep going and going. These babies are current on bordatella (kennel cough), parvo/distemper boosters, rabies vaccine, dewormed, microchipped, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, and will receive a negative fecal test and a clean bill of health prior to adoption. To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org PLEASE NOTE: This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. Story
Stark is the most loving, happy guy!! He is not just a regular pitbull, he’s a velvet bowling ball of love! He is a couch potato and LOVES being snuggled and babied. He is good with dogs and cats but would do best in a home without them because he likes being the center of attention. Stark is house broken, crate trained, walks nice on a leash, loves car rides. He would be the BEST companion for someone looking for a best friend.
