Story
Meet Chicca! She is a 5 year old Chihuahua mix. Loves car rides, cuddling and playing, Se is shy at first but warms up to you. I have had her about a month her previous owners were relocating and I volunteered to take her so she wouldn't have to go to the shelter. During the month I've noticed she does well with our male dog but not so well with our female dog. So only homes she will be the only female. Also, I have small children and they invade her space and she will nip at them. This is completely on my kids and no fault of her own. So, I would suggest no small children in the home either. She actually does very well with the kids other than that. She is also protective and does bark. I think she would do very well with someone needing a companion, she would make a very good emotional support dog. Also, I've noticed if there's alot of people around she will go hide and burrow until they are gone. If you're interest please send a message and we can arrange a meet and greet!
We'll also keep you updated on Chicca's adoption status with email updates.

Story
This is Chicca, a sweet and energetic 5-year-old chihuahua mix looking for her forever home. She is very alert and playful. Loves cuddles and car rides. Great companion dog. Has done well with my kids and large male dog. She hasn't adjusted well to my female. Takes a little time to warm up at first, but once she trusts you, she is very loving. I've had her for about 3 months. Her previous owners had to rehome her due to relocating; they also had kids and a large dog, and she did well with them. If you are interested, please message me.

He gets along with other small dogs.  We do not know about big dogs, so we are going to say “no” since he has never been around them. As Samson settles into his foster home, think about adopting him and giving him your love.  We will update his bio as we learn more about him. In the meantime, our must haves are: A fenced in yard Another small, adult, well socialized dog for him to learn from Someone that can be home more than not No apartment, high rises, or condos If you are wanting to adopt him then go to our website www.allamericandachshundrescue.org and fill out our online adoption application. ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.  There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered.  We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures. To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3. Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form. Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend.  We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest. We just can't get them from one coast to the other.  Please look for dogs on your coast.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime.
