Story
Sadie is a 6-year-old, 85-pound improbable mix of German Shepherd and Shar Pei. This is a confirmed and not speculative breed mix. Go figure. Sadie is not the most attractive dog we have. I get this. This is the dog equivalent of what happens when you cross a supermodel and a rock star. Genetics when only one parent is leggy and gorgeous is sometimes less kind to the offspring and you end up with awkwardness. That's where we are here - tiny head with strange ears on a giant body with a little tail. When she runs, she kind of resembles a demented velociraptor and she is all awkward angles. I am sure you are reading this and are going to tell me how pretty she is and while I appreciate that and love her for what she is, this dog next to a golden retriever is going to get zero attention. It is an absolute fact that people are shallow and it's why weather forecasters on your news shows are always wearing skin-tight dresses and are not 55-year-old, size 18 women who are doing the actual forecasting. Sadie is a very good girl and she deserves a home. Sadie has done well in a home with other dogs, but she prefers they be mellow and not jump on her. She is not good with cats and she would eat them. Sadie is impeccably well-trained and she knows a lot of commands. She is housebroken and well-mannered and she is a charming dog one-on-one. She is also a powerful athlete that has more in common with her German Shepherd side of things and she loves her walks. She needs 20 minutes of hard running in a back yard daily and then she's happy. She is full of kisses and does not know a stranger as she loves all people. Given how strong this dog is, kids over 12 would be fine. This is a fantastic dog for the right home.

Story
This is Sally, a 6-year-old, 80-pound German Shepherd/Shar pei mix. Someone bred this dog on purpose and the end result is a very sweet, smart dog with sharp fur, loose wrinkles, a physique like a water buffalo and a face that looks like one of her parents was a hippo. She is perfect with people of all ages over 8. She is a powerful athlete and she loves to run. She also loves to nap on the bed. She is housebroken and well-mannered in the home, she know a lot of commands and she is supremely friendly to all people. However, Sally prefers to be the only pet in the household. She dreams of being the center of attention, soaking up all the love and care her new family can offer. This independent streak only adds to her charm, as she enjoys the spotlight and loves being the focus of your world. This remarkable dog is incredibly intelligent, eager to learn, and enjoys mental stimulation. She'd thrive in an environment that provides mental challenges, exercise, and, most importantly, a loving and understanding family to call her own. I am going to take all kinds of heat from people when I say that this dog is not attractive, but let's be honest. I could take a super white, fluffy, genetically-blessed dog that's been in a bad mood for 3 years and that dog would be placed instantaneously because it's pretty. People will forget you're irritating to the core if the exterior package is good enough. See, for instance, The Bachelor contestants. A dog that is one taco short of a combination plate in the looks department will sit forever no matter how nice it is. This is established rescue fact and while I wish it was different, the world is shallow. All she needs a home with no dogs, no cats and a fenced yard. That's it. She's an amazing dog and would be great with pretty much anyone who just wants one dog.

Story
We are in need of rehoming our 1 1/2 year old dog. We are not sure what breed he is. We believe he is a Greyhound mix. He is super high energy and is very affectionate. He knows a few simple commands like sit and down but he is still learning other commands. He listens to men more than women. He likes to run until his heart is content, dig, and play with toys and sticks. He is not great around small children He is okay around smaller dogs but he does chase cats and birds. He needs a larger place to run and get his energy out. He needs a large back yard or someone who will go out and take him for long walks or to the dog park.
